I had a 56-Reg Vectra Exclusiv 1.8L Petrol and it was the best car ever. This video brings me back so many memories of being in it. I want to trace mine and buy it back. Great video!

@@borisjohnson7553 No need to apologise, Mr Prime Minister! 😁 I didn’t find it and won’t be able to now because I believe it was scrapped after a big MOT failure list, which is a real shame. I ended up buying a 57-reg one a couple of months after that MOT failure, which I still have today.

My CDTI SRI 150, 2007 is remapped to 181 bhp with 285 torque. It's an economy/performance remap. It pulls very well. Its muscle really shows with a full load of passengers. They can be boosted to 200 bhp plus but transmission would probably suffer. Btw, she is noticeably quicker when using Miller's Ecomax fuel additive. One new DMF and clutch at 130,000 miles. 190, 000 miles now and going very well. Great car.

scoobydoer People usually opt for the harshest remap possible but that means you can’t put the power down my friend has a mk5 golf 1.9 originally 105bhp 250nm now it’s mapped hard at 158bhp 350nm Torque and in the wet it’s useless untill you reach 4th gear I agree about the millers diesel eco max compared to redex it’s amazing 👌🏻

1.8 vvc sri the best model, most reliable and the only Vauxhall built engine. 2.2 is an American engine, 2.0 turbo is a Saab unit, as is the 2.8 v6 turbo, the Diesel engines are fiat units.

@@BarrieCrampton LMFAO a stage one in this engine isnt going to blow it up and 175 bhp from a re-map isnt great, you should be knocking on the door of around 200bhp anything higher and you'll need to swap the turbo.

egr Valve from memory is easy to get at and also easy to clean out if its just carboned up, didnt think they had swirl flaps on them, thought that was the insignia, and to be honest i have sold lots of these and have never had any significant problems with any, certainly no more than any other makes of car

Barrie Crampton they're down where the glow plugs go. Not sure if the 8v 120 engine has them but the 16v does, the little bar pops off after a while and it's a pain to get to with fingers so need some long nose pliers. But I love the car, my first was a 1.8 petrol and then moved to the 1.9 diesel. Looking at a 530 d next though

@@baron5747 iv got a 2008 1.8 vvc sri, pipercross panel filter, and stage one remap, 150 bhp, 140 ibft. Took her up to 138 mph, not bad for a 1.8. Always use vpower and regular use of redex fuel system cleaner. Turbine smooth, 40 mpg. Guy at Vauxhall said the 1.8 vvc is the best engine, it’s the only Vauxhall unit all the others are from other manufacturers.I paid £2450 two years ago, probably get one for £1500 now with low mileage.
