hey man thanks for the vid. I have a 2004 explorer, the 15amp fuse thats under the hood that supplies power to the injectors isnt getting power to it. I couldnt figure it out so I hard wired my fuel pump directly to a switch and a battery. It ran for a few days but now will not start. Im pretty sure rewiring the original harness to the fuel pump

This was a fantastic and helpful video. I have determined that the fuel pump still works. However, I have low voltage going in to the inertia switch although the injectors fire just fine. Any ideas?

I tried to flush the injectors with the air pressure flushing kit that avoids removing the injectors. Problem; the explorer would not start even with a 50/50 mixture (gas & cleaner). My question,does removing the fuel pump fuse also stop the injectors from operating ? I tried removing all 3, one at a time but could not get ignition. The vehicle started once I reconnected the fuel line. Would disconnecting the inertia switch be a safe alternative ?

Ford explorer 2008 in this particular i removed the fuel pressure sensor relay Changed it with another one and it started immediately no problem although the problem is gone im convinced it will happen again i have vast mechanical back ground and i myself im not convinced that is the cause

I have 2006 ford explorer 4.0 that when I turn it on the first time in the day, it starts just fine, I can have it on for about 45 mins and fine, turn it off and then when I try to turn it back on, it won't start again, it cranks and everything but it seems that it doesn't get fuel pumped, fuses are fine and relay, obviously the pump works, the 2 things left are inertia switch and the fuel pump control module. I will check on those..Thanks

This particular issue reminds me of others who have found their temp switch in engine bay is faulty, so after warmed up, the car won't start again

I have an 07 Explorer. Fuel was occasionally hesitating, and i suspected pump was slowly failing. I had a few no start days, and then it would start again. Eventually it failed, as i suspected. I had already bought a fuel pump assembly waiting for this day. I replaced fuel pump, and it ran great for about a week. Then it stopped starting again. And it was the exact same crank but no start condition. No fuel pump sound, no fuses blown. Nothing worked. I figured it was some new problem. But after a while of checking systems, i started thinking the new pump was just a lemon. So i had the manufacturer send me another fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump a second time, and car started right up and ran great for ONE DAY. The next day it was a crank and no start once again. I checked the 2amp fuse. I tried bridging the inertia switch. And I checked the pink box fuse, and even swapped the relay. Still a crank and no start condition. What could possibly be causing a new pump to start up and run great; only to fail again, and again?! I'm super stumped. I have not meddled with the fuel pump module in the rear yet. But why would a new pump make anything work? And why would it keep failing? I'M SERIOUSLY CONFUSED> Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

2006? Must be a early model in the year. 2006 is also has a "built into the board" fuse box location in the right front kick panel area. So its made into the fuse box, it is not a solitary removable relay.

I am having troubles with my ford explorer 2005, the MIL light is turned on and the scan says "wrong fuel pressure rail-P0191" and P0171 and P0174 (mix too lean-boith banks), the data stream says the pressure is too low, after sometime the engine stop sudendly. I am wondering if tthere is something wrong with the fuel pump or fuel pump driver but i am not sure how to test the fuel pump or the driver, do you have any idea? The car starts at the morning and works normally but after sometime like 1 hours the problem begins. Also, I am wondering where is located the fuel pressure regulator or how it works on this ford explorer

The fuel pressure is regulated through the fuel pump module passenger rear quarter panel. It basically pulses the fuel pump to regulate pressure.

You will have to drive the pump from the connection at the fuel pump driver module OR by using a scan tool.

I have a code p0191, I replaced the fuel pressure sensor and it came back on, then I realized it says performance, now idk if its a fuel pump control module problem on a (2010 explorer) or if its just a fuel pump problem, rpm starts going down on warm startup like down to 200 and there is hard shifting that stopped for a while after replacing the fps but came back and it’s misfiring

I have a code PO191 also I changed the fuel pressure sensor 4.0 under the intake manifold and no start unless I spray carb cleaner in the engine it only shows 10.5 psi on the scanner I'm wondering if the driver module is the culprit

@@SuperHddeuce nope its the pump, did you try cycling the key to the on position multiple times? Also the fuel pump module is at the back passenger corner behind the interior sure

@@redman4life91 the engine wouldn't start unless you sprayed it with carb cleaner and then it ran fine and you could drive it if you wanted that's why I was thinking the fuel pump driver module is not making the pump pressure up

@@SuperHddeuce i mean starting the car requires alots of fuel, mine had 30psi the whole time and upon cold start ups, it’s fine but upon hot start ups, it starts but sometimes stalls and most of the times the rpm starts jumping between 0.2-0.6 rpm for like a good 6 seconds and then stabilizes and runs okay, thats why i’m recommending fuel pump instead of the module

No choke on fuel injection. Listen to a 2 second prime when you turn key to on, then turn more to start position

Man fires or so much junk they out those fuses so hard get to same to work on these fords all or junk get a chev at least there made best last longer when I get rid this fird explorer I never own another ford I hate um had a 5.3;dam plug broke off work on it 2 months could not get it out only three ins under fire wall work sold it guy at shop been 7 months trying fix it say have take the cab off. Fords suck no more for me
