This car is truly a dream come true. I bought one off a lot that usually has junk cars but happened to have this one and I drove it down the road going 25 mph and just wanted it right away. It was at 96 thousand miles. Even when these cars have low maintenance and high mileage they still run like nothing is wrong.

I have 312k miles on my SE 4 cylinder. Regular maintenance and it runs like a dream still. Getting 30 MPG highway city. Had to do some font end suspension work. But I like in Oklahoma. The roads are terrible.

I just found a 07' manual. Thing only has 92k on the clock !..surprising being 12 years old. It's my aunts car. She gonna cut me a deal and let me make payments. Been awhile since i had a stick. I'm SOO tired of boring autos. A shame thats sticks are becoming so rare when they're so fun. A manual can make any car fun. Edit. My aunt loves her fusion, and really doesnt want to sell it. She's getting old though. She needed all wheel drive for MN winters so bought a Ford Edge. She is 70 now. The womans been driving a stick all these yrs. I really like her. She doesn't realize how rare she is.

I have a 2006 Ford Fusion SE with the 2.3 (4 cylinder engine) and automatic transmission. It is my first Ford product and is probably the best and most reliable car that we have ever owned. It has plenty of speed when you need it and delivers great gas mileage. I live in Canada & I have driven it (many times)6 hours at highway speeds from London to Ottawa and only used $40 CDN in gas, one way. Even when the price of gas is high. That's cheaper than the train! The car is comfortable, well appointed, it has plenty of trunk space and is a pleasant car to drive. Ford also put a nice factory paint job on it and the body has stood up very well to rust. The A/C blows ice cold with no issues over the years and the fabric in the seats has lasted very well. Now my favourite...imo that basic looking stereo w/cd player sounds absolutely awesome! The maintenance costs on the Fusion are also reasonable. I totally love this car!

ted marshall thanks! It does clean up well and no rust yet to speak of. I live in northern Wisconsin der ‘eh dontcha know😂this will be my first winter with it and I’m gonna keep it washed up a lot to keep the salt off it Runs great. But it did need some suspension work not long after buying it , front Strutz, right and left control arm ..threw some new tires on...nice stock rims too Looks and runs great so but it is a14 yo car so some maintenance is to be expected I want to get a Taurus next year and I’ll give the Fusion to my mom , she can have a good dependable car as she is reaching retirement age

@@cdixon5150 Speaking of suspension, it has been brought to my attention that road salt likes to collect in the seats of the rear coil spring suspension. I treat my car with Oil Guard every spring (because believe it or not cars actually rust more in the summer as opposed to the winter) and I make sure that those lower control arms are cleaned of any salt before the car gets treated. I have had no problems but people tell me that these Fusions are famous for rusty rear lower control arms and rocker panels. So far, so good.

I got to drive a 2007 Fusion rental once with the 4 cylinder and the automatic. The acceleration was decent to me and it had plenty of room. It was a pleasure to drive.

I had a car almost identical to this I had a 2006 2.3 with a 5 speed. amazing car. a couple days ago we had freezing rain in Pennsylvania and I drove the car through a pole. I miss this car terribly. very fun and very safe car!

Almost 8 years ago after hitting a deer with my 2011 Mercury Milan. I didn’t have a car for couple of weeks because of the insurance guy got lost. I did drove a 2006 Mercury Milan in blue for a couple weeks. I really did liked the color of the car. It was an automatic which I can drive it. I have been in a 2011 Ford Fusion with my mother but, she drove it. I still kind of missed that 2011 Mercury Milan since I totaled it again with a deer in December 2016. It was a good car to drive.

Agreed My dad still has his 2006 model he got in 2009 and it still runs amazing and is great shape (over 128,000 miles). Why did the car only get made from 2006 to 2020? Very short lived

@@RB01.10 14 years isn’t short lived, Ford stopped making cars all together except the Mustang since it was no longer profitable. Most average Americans just want trucks & SUV’s anyway, not sedans or coupes. They weren’t really ever Ford’s strong suit either.

@@2H2521 That is something, considering for example how the Taurus (I’ve had two of them, a ‘99 SE and now an ‘08 X) lasted nearly 35 years before that was discontinued. I’ve always heard the Taurus was quite popular for a while, and it even helped Ford when it came out in 1986.

I just bought the blue 2006 automatic ford fusion and I love it. It run so beautifully to be 13 years old and I lucked up and only payed $2,800 for it😉👍

They also offered the Milan with the 5 speed manual which I would absolutely love to drive! I really like the fusion especially this one it looks fun to drive and practical!

Parents had one identical, but it was automatic. It was tuned in a mechanic shop to some degree during maintenance. It sounded really good to, for being all oem. Miss it. It was bought new in 06 a little before I was born and then sold in 2017 for 3k I believe.

I have an 2006 Ford Fusion SE V4 2.3L automatic, purchased in 2015 with 140K miles. Currently has 210K miles. Spent about $4,100 this year in repairs and maintenance (tires, front end work, alternator, starter and battery). Unfortunately it's cheaper than buying another car in this market. It also needs a rear engine seal but will monitor the oil until I save up a little more. Hope to get at least another 5 years out of it

My grandpa has a fusion, but it's a 2009 model. My favorite thing about his is the engine sound. His is a SE V6. I love the sound of his engine. My ant Julie has one to but I'm not sure what year it is

Look at the mercury Milan. I personally think the design on the same year Milan aged much better. Looks almost new.

Manuals are extremely rare in family cars. The only car I can think of with a manual is the Honda accord. And I think the Altima V6 is avaliable with a manual cause the V6 coupe is.

The Altima used to be available in the Sedan version until 2008 but then Nissan decided to drop it because not many people were buying it. The Coupe still gets the manual. The Accord, the Fusion, and the Passat have manual transmission still.

I drove a 2011 Fusion SEL with the auto tranny and SYNC it's a reasonable car to drive with the 4 banger not bad I have also driven a 2011 Explorer Limited with the My Ford Touch I found the controls easier then I would've thought from others

The 5At is still fun to drive mine has 110k, has very good steering infact a new hyundai sonabag 2.0t cannot out manuver it, and has a good topend for passing the engine is just little bit to unrefined compared to a toyota or honda.

Too bad the Fusion is no longer produced in the US. 2019 is the last year. Hopefully overseas, the Mondeo will continue production. We didn't get the estate model (wagon). I kinda like it to be honest.

I would like this car so much if it had a better interior. Exterior is nice but the interior looks bland and kinda cheap. But of course I love the fact that it's a manual!

You're forgetting that the Ford Edge has a 6-speed automatic transmission. Idling at 2k is entirely possible with that in mind.

The mercury y milan is a great car it’s not the best car in today’s standards but it’s reliability is great but it’s not worth buying since they all have high mileage and probably don’t work that good

Both are great cars with good reliability, but if your looking for a fun-to-drive car with good handling, your probably want to go with the '06 Fusion. But the '06 Sonata drives well too, just not as fun as the Ford, so really you can lose with either! But if you want fun, go Fusion! Happy car shopping! (:

I wish I never would of bought my 09 fusion se. 150k miles needs a starter, rims look like crap. Car has crappy mileage, 25mpg, that's horrible for a car. Have 225/45-18 tires are horrible. Hit a pothole, expect new rim and tire. Forget about using the a.c. because that'll take a lot of what little horsepower you have.
