Quick and easy way to replace spark plugs on a 2006 Honda Accord VTEC 2.4L engine. Save money and do it yourself.
Tools needed: 3/8" drive ratchet, 3/8" drive 6" extension, 3/8" drive 10mm deep socket, 3/8" drive 5/8" spark plug socket.
Spark Plugs: NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plugs IZFR6K11/6994

oh those great vtec engines. my mom had 1990 and a 1998 accords both rock solid engines. not a single issue. reg oil changes and maint, and never skipped a beat.

Would this be something that would come up on the "maintenance minder"? My '06 Accord EX is 2k shy away from hitting 100,000 miles. I believe 100k is around the lifespan for spark plugs in this model. I am getting a bit of hesitation when I accelerate from a stop.

No, just follow your owners manual. I would replace them when you can if you haven't. Have you changed your air filter recently?

I thought about that but it has only been about 10k miles since my last air filter change. Might still be a good idea to check it earlier since we've had air quality problems in my part of the country.

They come pre gapped, but I always check them.

Any reason you didn’t unclip the electrics at the coil packs instead of trying to remove & lay the whole 4 in one piece? Wouldn’t it be easier? Great video..

Probably didn't want to take the chance of having any of the clips braking, wasn't my car. Old plastic brakes all the time.
