Grommet was the issues. So grateful for this video. Temporary fix was to layer two sided tape until brake light was off. Three layers did it.

Thank you....I was lucky because I noticed the lights still on ( don't want to imagine where I'd be if my first warning of a problem was a dead battery).Saw your KZfaq video that night and tried the fuses first ,nope..checked and found plastic pieces on the floor.Bought $5 grommet followed your instructions and VOILA break lights work as they should. #female62thanksU👏

Great video. As a large dad, fixing my sons switch will require removing his drivers seat, but I never thought about the cushion the switch rests upon. Probably a tough part to find on Rock Auto!

Thank you for sharing this valuable information. Very concise instructions for dummies like me. One point to note is that when this part fails, either the switch or the pad, the cruise control stops operating until the parts work again, and the brake lights turn off. In my case, it was the pad that had disintegrated and fell onto the brake cover panel. Once I opened the panel, the broken parts fell to the floor. So, others might want to note the unoperable cruise control is the clue to what the problem really is since no pieces of the broken pad are obvious until opening the brake cover panel.

You might try checking if that rubber grommet at the end of brake pedal assembly is disintegrated. I just replaced that, and the brake lights are now off, thank God( and Lehew tech).

So needing a new brake light switch is not only for brake lights on constantly but also for brake lights not working at all?
@mds246511 ай бұрын
I have a 2005 Honda CR-V that is identical to this one featured in the video but mine is a stick shift. I have a VSA warning light that came on yesterday and when I scanned the system for codes it said that the brake light switch was faulty so I’m assuming that is probably the culprit in my case. I’ve also had another concern with the clutch pedal. Recently I removed the clutch pedal assembly from the car so that I could grease the bushings and hardware inside of the assembly because it was squeaking every time I depressed the clutch pedal and I did my very best to line everything up correctly when I mounted it back inside the car but since then I noticed that the pedal feels slightly different in terms of the biting point. It’s not bad, just different. So my question for you is do you know if you have to “fine tune” the clutch pedal the same way as you would with the brake light switch?

My right side brake light won't come on I clean it with electrical cleaner and changed the bulb plus checked the fuse ?
@chackoalex1990 Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Do you happen to know the exact brake light fuse for the 2011 Honda CR-V? In the manual it does not say break light fuse.
@orlandoluthier61672 жыл бұрын
On my wifes to 07 crv only the top brake light turns on when depressing the brakes, fuses are good, switch appears to be working. All the bulbs are new. Do you think theres a short in a wire somewhere?

Excellent video probably best I’ve seen. I am assumed I have a bad switch. The part that is confusing me is that the brake lights work fine during the day however the problem starts when I turn on the lights and the brake lights stay locked on. Any advice or just replace the switch and see what happens?

It’s a long shot but anyone have an idea as to why my driver side back break lights don’t turn on/flicker when I hit the breaks? Like when I turn on the accessorial lighting the bulbs all turn on back there, but when I hit the breaks only the middle and passenger side break lights flicker on and off when I step on the break pedal…
