this was outstanding if Robbie can do it I'm sure the army of Toyota engineers can eventually figure it out too, ha ha

I have a 2006 Prius and my battery cells started going out one after another. 3 to be exact. Within 2 months. They are about 20-40$ used on eBay. So at 337,000 miles my original battery was removed at home by me. Not very hard what so ever! You're gonna need some muscle. The brand new one cost me 1800$ with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty. This all happened early 2016 and as of last night I now have 357,000 miles. Still going awesome. And lately I have seen some new battery packs for around 1000 or less. With a warranty of course. All that aside it was way better than 3700$ the dealer quoted Me. And it only had a 3 month 5,000 mile warranty. As for the motor... it burns about a quart every 3k miles. ZERO LEAKS!!! Never had the head, valve cover gasket changed. I should do that soon. The lifters are very very noisy and has been that way since 275k and the exhaust flange right before that cat is bad. 6$ fix. Simple fix. I have had this car since 0 miles. And plan on driving it till the motor blows. Then I'll fix it. Ohhh and the front brake rotors are original with just a little bit of rust. The pads were replaced at 100k "the dealer recommended" I still have 60% pad left. The first and only repair I did besides the battery pack was a wheel bearing at 70k. I have spent a total of $4,000 on tires and I do my own oil changes... mobile one super high mileage 10w/40. It's good for 7,500 miles. Since I burn 1/4 or the oil and refill little by little once every 300-400 miles "every gas fill" the oil stays somewhat clean. So I have been stretching the changes to 12,000 miles. I buy a k&n oil filter used for a marine engine. It's very large compared to the original. It holds another 3/4 quart. If you have any questions for this very OLD VIDEO email me at. Thanks, very interesting. A couple questions: 1. What happened to the spare tire and jack? Are the batteries sitting in a tray, above, which can slide out without having to disconnect everything or did you have to set the spare tire aside? 2. It looks like you have many straps holding the batteries in place. Any shifting? Any fire hazard? Thanks, again.

how many miles per gallon is the car actually getting ? that is resetting the odometer to zero at tank fill up and then running the car till the gas in the tank is reduced lets say to at least half. then taking to actual miles driven as per the odometer reading and dividing that by the number of gallons it takes to to refill the tank.
