The only thing that is bad there is the short gears. My friend got one with almost 300 000kms on it 12 years ago for around 3 000€, and stopped driving it after 2 years with 700 000kms where he wanted something different when he reached 60. I have heard a lot of bad stuff about 3 cylinder diesel engines, but the fact that they were and are still used by Czech police and are being replaced at around 400 000kms speaks for itself. Just maintain it and it will run.

The pds are solid it's the newer cr ones are problematic

I have ibiza with the same engine. I changed the gearbox to jdd. 170 kmh/3000 rpm

This engine has low torque, it would lose speed on sixth gear.

@@33Arahis it has a 5 speed gearbox and it cruises nicely at around 2500 rpm at 70 mph

I had one of these when stationed in Germany, the economy was amazing a little short in the gears it bothers me that we don’t see small diesel engines anymore they were performing the a to b base to resident with my partner if i remember right I got about 500 km to a tank with 1 bar still showing , it was about 14 sec to 100km certainly not quick but it did the job well part of me was sad to see it go when we got new orders

the flashing glow plug, doesn't necessary mean problem with glow plug, the engine can have a problem.

I have 70 hp 1.4 tdi. The 35 sec is not okay. I run 11 sec after remap, but I remembered that the stock value was less than 35 sec.

@@maximilianturi1080mine goes something under 15. That dude kept rpms at 4k where it has no power. He should change gear at lower rpms 3200 or 3500
