I am biased. Lets get that out of the way. I bought the Warrior over several different bikes because it met my needs. I wanted a torque monster that loved corners, that was reliable, and easy to work on, with good support and aftermarket parts. The Warrior ticks all the right boxes. Sometimes referred to as a 'Power Cruiser', the Warrior is a 102 cubic inch, 1670cc V Twin, matched to a 5 speed transmission. This motorcycle hails from the Road Star family, and is sleek and low. The Warrior is a muscle bike through and through, with a fat 200 series rear tire, adjustable rear shock, and upgraded brakes. Offering 75 HP and 96 LB/FT Trq, the Warrior is a compromise that actually works. Its that perfect sweet spot between Sport Bike and Cruiser. Very handsome and gets looks and thumbs up everywhere it goes, its guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

This video is by far the best Yamaha Roadstar Warrior review on KZfaq. This guy goes into detail about WHAT IT'S ACTUALLY LIKE TO RIDE THE BIKE. Imagine that? Everyone else talks about doing their laundry, about traffic, the weather, then when it comes do describing the bike or what it's like, they don't have anything to say really. This guy compares the bike to other power cruisers, how it compares to big Harleys, etc. Thank you for your service sir.

I couldn't agree with more on how nimble the warrior is, I started on sportbikes and still have my 98 VTR-1000 superhawk and I felt right home when I took my first ride on my warrior, it's my bike till it stops or I stop. Joined the warrior forum and you get a real sense of Brotherhood from other riders of the same model as you. I like to plan a road trip with mine either to the beach or thru the blue Ridge mountains.

I recently got a Road Star. I was very torn between the regular Road Star and the Warrior. As you mentioned though, I like doing day and weekend trips, and wind on the highway can suck without a wind screen. I didn't like the look of a lot of the screens for the Warrior, so I ended up with the Road Star. Probably will eventually own a Warrior also though. Hopefully. The engine is awesome. I absolutely love the Road Star look as well though.

@avatarquinn
@avatarquinn Жыл бұрын
Listen, I use to joke that the average age of a Buick owner was Deceased. My grandfather was a big lad like me, and he loved big cars. Its a 2005 Park Avenue with all the bells and whistles besides the supercharger (The Ultra). He special ordered this one in 2004 as a 2005 year model (The last for the Park Avenues) but rarely drove it. I inherited it in 2013 with only 23,000 miles on it. I drove it up until I bought a truck to move across the country to California, and when I sold it in 2019 it had only 65,000 miles on her. I never had any issues with the car. Super comfy, it had the upgraded sound system, it had the heads up display on the windshield that showed your speed and such, tons of room for people or things, got good mpg. Cheap to insure. I genuinely miss the car.

Great review. Question tell me more a out the road king special test ride. Was it a 107 or 114 cu? How did you like the ride? How does it compare to the warrior
@avatarquinn
@avatarquinn Жыл бұрын
I believe it was the 107. It was like riding a recliner down the road tied to the front of a freight train. Awesome bike to ride! A bit on the pricey side, but they do hold their value quite well. It did not get anywhere close to the Warrior as far as balance at slow speeds and corner approach and exit speed considering the angles arent as low as the Warrior. Then again, alot of riding is dependent on the rider skill level. Ive seen guys on Goldwings keeping up with Liter bikes in the canyons out here.

I've always had a cruiser and a sport bike, but the problem I would run into is scraping the pipes and primary cover after riding the sport bike for a while. Conversely, after riding the cruiser, it would take a while to get back into leaning into turns on the sport bike. The Yamaha warrior allows one to ride the cruiser yet take advantage of the R1 suspension which might be what tips me into buying a warrior rather than a road star softail.
@avatarquinn
@avatarquinn Жыл бұрын
Im scraping foot pegs before exhaust gets close to road. Ide say a few degrees better than a Softail due to front end setup and balance.

@@avatarquinn I'll never buy another HD. I picked up a Yamaha Raider a few months ago and while the foot pegs scrape sooner than I'd like, I don't have to concern myself with anything else getting damaged. The Japanese manufacturers simply design and engineer superior bikes.

@avatarquinn
@avatarquinn 4 жыл бұрын
If money is no option, and you have some change for upgrades and maintenance, buy the Vrod. In stock form the Vrod is faster, and more comfy. It is smaller, lighter, and thinner. You would need a cam kit with some other upgrades to make the Warrior compete, however you would spend thousands less than buying a Vrod. You can get a nice Warrior for $4500, a nice Vrod will set you back minimum $8000. Then again its all up to you. I rode two different Vrods and they just felt....petite, small, and just didnt make me feel like a bad ass. I got on my Warrior and it immediately just FELT right to me, and I FEEL like a badass, and it gets looks and thumbs up EVERYWHERE. Also the Warrior, to me, is easier to get low in corners and then throw the other way.

For a guy that’s 6’0” 160 lbs would this be a manageable bike?
@avatarquinn
@avatarquinn 5 жыл бұрын
Definitely! When you are shopping for one, and of course this will involve personal preference, find a bike that has A. an after market seat with the stock seat, B. Saddlebags, Viking Bags are popular, C. An aftermarket exhaust, Vance and Hines sound amazing, and D. Isn't molested or has been laid down. Lots of guys do VBAK upgrades and Power Commander and that's fine, just be careful about a bike that has been rode hard and abused. If you can find a bike that someone else loved and spent a lot of money on accessories and tires etc, then that will save you lots of cash. Exhaust systems are $600, seats are $600, tires are $400, etc etc. Be patient and shop around, you might have to drive a few hours to get a nice one. Join RSWarrior.com and the Facebook group and look for ones for sale on there, those bikes have mostly been appreciated and not abused. Then ENJOY the ride!

Is it possible to be a beginner bike
@avatarquinn
@avatarquinn 5 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, no. While I do think that rider ability and skill varies from rider to rider, and certain people will gravitate towards being a good rider, this is a heavy and powerful bike. I always suggest a learner bike of around $2000 and below 1000cc. Buy it in the Winter when they are cheapest, early Spring get your license and do all required maintenance, and Learn to ride and put some miles on it until next Summer. Sell it at end of Summer, then in Winter again step up IF you so desire. Another riding season my be required for some riders to really get comfortable with riding and learn where their boundaries are. A perfect beginner bike is a Honda Shadow.

@@TRUTHandANSWERS Sounds like it, if they are aren't abused. Go look at the bike before committing to it, look it over. Any frayed brake lines? Rust? Dents? Crank it up, does it idle well? How does the owner other belongings look? Trashy yard with trashy truck? Ask about service history, how often the oil is changed. Look at the wear on the belt and the teeth on the belt drive. Look at the tires and note a few things, the wear, the brand, and do they match front and rear? Anything missing or broke? Is there an aftermarket exhaust? What kind of seat? If they will let you ride it, then ride it, slowly, shifting smoothly, how does it feel? Any weird feelings, vibrations, sounds, etc could mean deeper issues. Now look for leaks, sometimes a bike will leak a TINY bit because its been sitting, and just needs to be rode. Does it come with extra goodies? Sattlebags? Windscreen? Power Commander? Consider everything before committing to the purchase. Look at and ride two or three, and pick the best option. If you only look at one, you are not getting the best deal. Keep in mind what the Warrior is all about, storming around town and curves. Not 400 mile trips, not with the stock seat atleast. The Warrior is a fantastic bike! You will love it! You can order foot extensions if you are tall like me and find it a bit cramped. Either 3 inch or 5 inch. I am 6'3" and have 3 inch.
