Toyota recommends that vehicles featuring an automatic transmission have their fluid changed every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Vehicles with manual transmissions should have their fluid changed every 30,000 to 60,000 miles.

Great video. I intend to change my transmission fluid as it wasn't changed in the last 5 years, but I don't have that fluid pump to refill the gearbox. Using the dipstick hole should do the same, I guess.

My friend, to fill the gearbox with oil you can use (instead of a manual pump) a funnel with a long funnel extension. The filling will be done from the front of the car. You can also use a large syringe with a hose.

@@YiannisPagonis Actually I am a man! Lia is my nickname since childhood. Sorry for wrong footing you! I own a Toyota Auris 1.6, 2012, first model. In many aspects it is the same as a Corolla. I do most of the maintenance myself, your channel is a good source of inspiration. I grew up in Africa, where most maintenance takes place in the open air, hence the affinity for your simple way of doing things.

ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ: Η χρήση λαδιού για χειροκίνητο κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων εκτός του ''Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV API GL-4 SAE 75W'' μπορεί να προκαλέσει την εμφάνιση θορύβου ρελαντί (κροτάλισμα) και κακή κατανάλωση καυσίμου.

My friend for the specific model of this generation with 4ZZ-FE engine but also for the rest of the 1ZR-FE, 1ND-TV and 1AD-FTV engines ONLY SAE 75W. CAUTION: Using manual transmission oil other than Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV API GL-4 SAE 75W may cause idle noise (rattling) and poor fuel consumption.

Great video. However, Toyota's service manual for a 2013 Corolla state's that you never need to replace the fluid in the manual transmissions. Wonder if it's truly necessary then?

@@defbear 1. Why does Toyota say not to change transmission fluid? To make it look like their cars do not need the maintenance. Sure, your car will make it through the entire warranty period. Eventually, your transmission will fail early. 2. Is it OK to never change transmission fluid? If you don't replace your transmission fluid, it will break down much like engine oil and lose its lubricating and cleaning properties. This leads to high temperatures, sludge buildup, and excess friction, which can damage the internal clutches that shift the gears. 3. Does Toyota Corolla need transmission fluid change? Toyota Corolla transmission fluid changes are extremely basic to keep your vehicle's transmission congenial and lubricated. If you don't routinely change your fluids at least every 30,000 to 60,000 miles or so, you may find that your Toyota Corolla transmission will slip.

@@YiannisPagonisjust went to my local Toyota dealer. The fluid was $40 per can. Yes, can. Not a plastic bottle. So, $80 total. But to have them do it was only $115. So, I’ll be letting them handle it

Please check the following: 1. If the current radiator cap doesn't keep the pressure in, it will do as you describe. The pressure will be allowed to escape and you'll see steam and it will appear to be overheating, even though the temperature gauge appears to be normal. 2. Low Coolant Level If the system lacks sufficient coolant, it may struggle to regulate temperature, especially during stop-and-go traffic. Low coolant levels could result from factors like a failing head gasket, coolant hose leaks, or gradual coolant consumption by the engine. 3. Other causes: failed thermostat, bad water pump, LOW ENGINE OIL LEVEL, faulty radiator fan.

Σκοπεύω να παραγγείλω την αυθεντική, αυτή δλδ που λέει το manual, που χρησιμοποιείς κι εσύ στο βίντεο, να παραγγείλω 3 λίτρα ή 2 λίτρα πιστεύεις; (Σκέφτομαι μήπως πχ δε φεύγει όλη κατά το αλλαγμα όποτε και με 2 μονολιτρα μήπως είμαι κομπλέ) Τι πιστεύεις;

Αναγκαστικά πρέπει να αγοράσεις 3 λίτρα λάδι βαλβολίνης, πάντοτε σύμφωνα με τον τύπο λαδιού που χρησιμοποιεί το συγκεκριμένο αυτοκίνητο (θα το βρεις στο τεχνικό εγχειρίδιο του αυτοκινήτου σου). Το κόστος του αυθεντικού λαδιού είναι περίπου 45 € (15€ Χ3=45€). Πρέπει να υπολογίσεις τυχόν απώλειες κατά την αλλαγή (εάν σκοπεύεις να το κάνεις μόνος σου).

Πλήρωσα Γιώργο και για τα 2 λίτρα συνολικά 31,96 € μαζί με το ΦΠΑ (4,64 €) χωρίς καμία έκπτωση από την αντιπροσωπία. Ενώ την χειραντλία την αγόρασα 1 € από ένα κινέζικο κατάστημα. Θραύση κάνουν τα κινέζικα μαγαζιά σε πολλά τέτοια προϊόντα (ενώ τα ελληνικά δεινοπαθούν!).

@@YiannisPagonis Γιατί δεινοπαθουν? Το βενζινάδικο στην πόλη μας που πουλάει τα πάντα το ξέρεις? Πήρα 5κλιπς(3.00€) αυτά που βάζουν αντί για βιδες και τα ίδια ακριβώς από το Ali τα 50 κομμάτια, γύρω στα 2.00€!!! Τους φταίει κανείς αν δουλεύουν με 1000%κέρδος ???

this LV 75w oil is to thin for Corollas gearbox. It is for the Yaris and your will destroy your gearbox with it ! You need 75w-90 gear oil from Toyota original and not this LV !!

@@YiannisPagonis no because when I had Yaris 2008, servicer told me it only goes 75W LV in its gearboxes because it have very sensitive and soft sinchros, what is not case in the Corollas. That tells me a lot about quality
