I tried the relay swapping thing and it didn’t work. Bummer but thanks for the lesson. Gonna try cleaning my battery connections but it definitely still has juice.

My car only clicks. Battery is at 12.6. A wiire was touching the starter causing smoke with key on so I tied it such that it would not contact starter but still only a click when I try t9 start the car. I switch relays as you did in the video and no change. I pulled the 40 amp fuse and switched it with another, and no change. This all began when the car barely started after which i noticed my positive terminal was cracked. I replaced it after cleaning the two positive wires and fastening them to the terminal. Where to go from here?

I have a 2006 Chevy Impala where my old starter just went out and just had a new one installed, My battery is dead from not having been charged in a while but it can be jumped off but every time I turn the car over I get one audible click and it won't start, my alternator is good, I've got another battery in there that's good and a brand new starter on it, could it be the relay switch that I need to replace?

Very helpful video. I'm currently going through some headaches with my 2010 Impala. I have already checked the fundamentals: battery, starter, starter relay and starter fuse. Car will not crank at all.... sometimes after turning the key a couple times it will start right up. Now, the car wont turn at all, no click nothing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

The only problem with a wiggle test up front is the chance that you might destroy evidence before verifying where the problem is. On the other hand I understand why pros don't want to go through extra effort to find the S post and B+post to do drop testing there.

Having a starting issue. All grounds and cables are good, new battery, starter and alternator but not getting signal to the starter. Good fuses and relays too.

Yesterday my son and I replaced his starter relay and starter and the car is running again...but I have a question...on the driver's side strut brace, his car has what looks like two relays hanging from a bracket from the strut brace. I don't see that on your brace. Any idea what that might be?

great video ,,,however i did all that and everything checked out ,,, everything works in my car except wipers and when your turn the key on it doesnt show the little box that shows what gear it is in no matter where you put the shifter ,,,the fuel pump doesnt kick on but i wired it and it does pump when wired ,,, when trying to start there was a very low click on the right side of the 2006 chevy impala ,,but didnt sound like a starter click ,,starter didnt engage at all ..ive tried everything i know or read about ,, starter is good ,,battery is new ,, only thing i see on the dash instrument panel is a picture of a car with a lock through it ??? its like its not going into park but it will not crank in either gear position .. car is very clean inside and out with like new interior so i hate to junk it ...and i cant afford to take it to a real mechanic ....any ideas by anyone will be greatly accepted . thanks in advance

THE FIRST time (early 2020) we had same no start, 2008 IMPALA, that time chipmunk chewed a wire, second time was last year, floor shift linkage broke, not allowing for proper PARK, or NEUTRAL position of the shift safety position switch, this year sounds like a click or 2, starter won't engage. (We replaced starter with a lifetime starter in 2020.) Hope to find problem, we but in a NEW battery today, no start, yet.

On the Chevy Impala 08, which is the hot wire on the 2 pin alternator connector. Both pin 1 or 2 is at zero, battery fully charged. Can you do a vid showing which is the hot wire on the alternator connector and the what color is the wire or which pin is suppose to be hot. Thanx really appreciate it

It tiok starter off and bench tested and solenoid works strong and starter spins How do i trace purple solenoid wire and is i a bad ground wire ? Okay so ive tried all these methods I've got crank but still no start even hot wire from fuse box to battery car turns over but won't fire did a compression test and had no spark to the plug. My buddy replaced his rack an pin plus hole stearing column and again ive tried everything i can think of and im stumped. Anything would help.

Why does my 08 Impala show different relays for those two slots? 8864 Problem I am having is that the fuse is blowing upon key turn. I swapped the relays and the car started a few weeks ago, but now, no matter which relay is in the circuit, the fuse blows. Is that a shorting solenoid? Time for a new starter? What test wud anyone reccomend? I changed battery and have gone thru 4 fuses just today. Still no crank. Also, is the fuse PRIOR to the relay or AFTER the relay on way to starter?

I got a Chevy impala 2008 LT and I have no connection to the key put the shifter in neutral I can’t get the shifter in neutral I got the key all the way over.
