This is a 2008 Honda CRV 2.4L. The air conditioning isn't working. Only blows hot air. Doesn't seem like compressor is engaging at all. Can hear the fans coming on though.
Number 1 cause of these complaints is low charge. The refrigerant has leaked out to the point of the ECM no longer turning on the compressor. Number 2 cause is a faulty A/C compressor clutch. The ECM tries to turn on the compressor but the compressor clutch isn't locking up.
Here I go through the basic checks I do for these vehicles. I'll use the A/C machine as a set of gauges but really the gauge on a top up can would be good enough. I'll use my scantool to command the A/C compressor clutch to engage but you could also jumper it manually.
Simple and accurate tests that'll get you figured right quick!
