2008 Seadoo RXT hood strut fix

11 жыл бұрынThe whole time we thought the bracket was tight it really wasn't. In the open position it was, but when the hood was closed then it wasn't. Turns out the bolt that holds it together was cross threaded on from the factory. All fixed now and good to go.

I have the same problem! And can’t figure out what is wrong. I change all the parts for new, two pistons and the same thing

Any follow up? There is a service memo that recommends moving the lower attachment point to port, but mine still pops off.

Andy Carscadden that happened to me also at first because the clip on the strut was damaged from constantly coming off. Once I replaced the strut and did this, it's never come of again

Marco Lopez , you need to disconnect the bracket from the hood(remove snap ring and washer), and then take L shaped piece out of the hole. Then, connect the strut to top and bottom balls. Now, put a 1/2 inch socket into the slot on the side of the bracket so you can compress the shock enough to put the L shaped bracket back through the hole in the hood. Replace the washer and snap ring.

Hmm, i don't think my sea-doo have that problem.. Instead the gas shock that you attach to the "ball" is broken.. :)
