I have this exact same ski, it's an old ski now but still a great one. I bought the RPM kit I have done the air filter and the intake grate and got 2mph on top end with those two. I have 3 more mods to do on it, will do the prop and the free flow exhaust and then will send the ride plate off to Jims to have it modified, I am excited to see where it will end up.

Have you finished everything up? I am trying to purchase the same kit and have not found anyone who has done it!
@jasonski77horne5027 күн бұрын
@bradwinkle9907 Yep did all of the rpm kit and it made a big difference, totally worth it. I will send off the ride plate for modification this winter. Glad to answer any questions too.

@@jasonski77horne50 awesome! Glad to hear that. Thinking I am going to pull the trigger on one. It’s rare to find someone who’s done it to these older skis

@bradwinkle9907 the MR1 engine is an awesome engine and the old skis have stronger hulls.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Regarding your oil level being a bit high at the end...the service manual for this motor states to check the oil when the motor is warmed up. It says to warm up the ski (owner's manual states NEVER more than 5 minutes on a garden hose; however, many people suggest never more than 2 minutes so as not to harm the carbon seal on the pump) but after warming it up...on a completely level surface...you must shut it down for 30 seconds to allow the oil to drain down into the appropriate reliefs etc. Then you check the oil level. I might suggest that your oil was a bit high because it wasn't warm enough and there wasn't a 30 second delay. Might just be too technical but that's what the manual states FWIW? Still thankful you posted this.

Great video, thank you! Sucked in a tow rope while pulling my son kneeboarding this am. Spent an hour unwinding it from the driveshaft only to find it was caught in the impellor, so I couldn't get it out on the water. Had to get SeaTow to bring me back, and found this video. Took about 15 mins to remove the pump, then another 20 to get the wedged rope out, and another 10 to re-assemble. Except for the hose you removed from the top on the 4th step, my 2008 GTI SE 155 was exactly as your video described. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to make & share this video!

I'm wondering if anyone has replaced the rubber boot for the OPAS. Mine is leaking through the boot hole. I'm assuming the boot has a hole or crack. I want to keep the paddles. Looking to see if anyone has replaced them. Can't find any information on it out there.

Did you find any info on this? I think I need to replace those boots also.
@bobreichel4 жыл бұрын
I filled the inside of my ski with water and it started to leak out from the paddle. I'm assuming that's the OPAS system, yes? Anyway do you know how I can fix it from leaking water. It appears to be only on one side but I'd like to fix both sides at the same time. If you have any information I would appreciate it, thanks.

@91184superman5 жыл бұрын
That was not a blow up, that was a failure of the firing pin plunger/extractor. The plunger spring more than likely gave or something in that area causing the plunger to give out and releasing the extractor which is why you don't see it.
