2009 Buick Enclave "DVD Disc Error" solution for Quick Play DVD's

This on my 2009 Buick Enclave touch screen and I figured out a solution for the "DVD Disc Error" problem on Quick Play DVD's.
This is for my 2009 CXL w/Ent. Pkg 4
I am using a "Quick Play DVD" for this since this is the only time this problem happens.
1. With/without the vehicle running, have your Touch screen/radio/nav/xm power turn OFF.
2. Take your DVD, insert DVD and give it a gentle push.
3. Turn of the unit as soon as the dvd goes in and then hit the forward search button a few times until it reads "DVD disc error". The dvd will self eject, take dvd out of unit.
4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 and it should start up and play.
5. Hit the forward search button until it seems that the dvd has a frozen screen, the screen is not frozen, it is just trying to catch up to the quick play screen.
6. The quick play screen appears, press play and you should be good to go.
When you turn your vehicle OFF with the dvd still playing and you re-enter the vehicle, it will read "dvd disc error" and it will self eject. Just reinsert the dvd and it should play right away.
If you want to watch another fast play dvd right after the first, it should play right away.
This has worked for me..

Mine is supposed to play on front screen as well as the kids rear. What button do I hit to have it play up front also?

This is great. Worked for me. The cd kept wanting to eject before reading so I just held my hand over the opening till it stayed in there then followed the videos steps.

Same issue with my 08 GMC Acadia I haven’t gotten it to work at all though that sucks 😢 thanks for the info though.. I wish I knew the root cause. These DVD players should be recalled

I have a 2009 Chevy Traverse, tried the trick 5 times and it worked! It’s a pain on the neck, but thank you for the info!

Thought this was going to be the solution. Worked on the third try doing as you did, then never again. I gave up after 15 tries. 1 out of 15 tries sucks. My 2009 Enclave is great except for this.

Just curious as to what is the root of problem? Is it that DVD's reader head is dirty and needs cleaning?

My disk keeps coming back out and on the overhead screen it’s say open when I’m puttin the disk inside then it’s says close puts pushes the dvd right back out. If U can help please and Thank U

You can try to hold down eject then put in some tweezers then pinch it out

dieuleveut lotutala put tape around some type of credit card so sticky side is on the outside and stick it in cd player opening to get the cd out.

I still can't get my head unit to read a single DVD but it will play any audio cd I put in it I tried your instructions but it still wont read one.

certified30 Yeah it doesn't work for everyone. Try blowing some compressed air in it. These radio absolutely suck and that is why a lot of people upgrade to the Double Din.

In your case, you will most likely need to take your dvd player out and take it a part so you push the disc out. Then spray some can air all over in it to get any dust out, it should work after that.
