Күн бұрын2009 Honda CR-V Radiator AMSOIL Coolant Change is very easy because of the access to the drain valve. You don't need any tools except a funnel and a extraction pump to suck out the old radiator coolant out of the reservoir.
I like AMSOIL Toxicity Coolant because it can be mixed to the strength you want for your application and it is better for the environment.

I have a Honda CRV 2008 and I buy a Pride XL50 Prediluted Antifreeze Coolant 50/50, is color orange, Is ok for that vehicle or I buy the wrong one??

You can put any radiator coolant in any vehicle it's just not ideal to mix them so I recommend doing a bunch of drain and fills with distilled water cleaning it out. Once it is cleaned then I would go ahead and get the propylene glycol Amsoil it's the white bottle much higher quality that's what I would personally run I would also get the Amsoil Dominator coolant boost. I did I also changed the Gizmo gear oil to. The reservoir is underneath the driver seat lol😉

You can add it right to what you already have or you can do the full fluid change that's what I recommend you'll get a lot better performance out of your vehicle with the propylene glycol Amsoil coolant the white bottle in the Dominator cooling boost you'll see a huge increase in performance it'll run smoother and it will definitely run stronger under heat under load. Have a 2013 Honda fit and the coolant is blue, you used green.

The coolant color is insignificant the main thing is that you keep it as consistent as possible when you change it to a different coolant. The best coolant is the one I use on most of my videos You'll see the low toxicity biodegradable Amsoil coolant which is a concentrate it happens to be yellow and I also use the Dominator coolant boost which is Me by Amsoil it's a dual tiered surfactant coolant that makes your car warm up 54% quicker also your car will run cooler and run smoother with better gas mileage

Is there any need to measure the amount of coolant that comes out of the radiator and try to match that same amount when refilling, or should we just go with the roughly 2 quarts you mentioned (5 quart system, half coolant half water and half bottle of boost)? Also, I was just looking at my car and I think the reservoir actually lifts out of the car fairly easily rather than using an extractor pump to get all of it out.

Yes Nicholas as far as the radiator all you do is just fill it up from the top and once it overflows you know it's full and then for the reservoir tank that you just fill to the full line

Can the Amsoil Coolant Boost be used with OEM Honda coolant or does it have to be used Amsoil Coolant? I just did a coolant flush a month ago.

you can mix Amsoil Coolant Boost with all other coolents. you can mix Amsoil coolant with all other coolants as well. you do not need to flush the system.

I just have the Honda type 2 coolant. can i do it with that only?

You can use any coolant as long as you change it often if you mix them I would recommend just doing a drain and fill and trying to get as much coolant out as you can that way you can go longer. Thanks! Two more questions: 1. Do you have to empty the reservoir tank as well when doing the coolant change? 2. My owners manual says the capacity for the coolant is 1.6 gallons, and the coolant I have is just 1 gallon. Does this mean that I need 1.6 gallons (second bottle) to fill my engine coolant up again, or does the other gallons typically reflect on the reservoir?

I would definitely drain the tank and suck it out if you have to. Also I would drain the radiator and then dumped a couple quarts of distilled water through it to help flush out a little bit more if possible and then just refill it and you're good to go. I would always get a little bit extra coolant and distilled water just to be safe and that way you'll always have some to top it off if you need to. Also I would get an extra bottle of Dominator coolant boost because it wears off after about 30,000 miles so that's something you have to put in basically every year every other year...
