This effects pretty much all Infiniti SUVs from 2003 to 2020. It is VERY easy to damage the ABS wheel speed sensor when changing these!
The sensor is in the knuckle and the exciter ring is on the back of the wheel bearing. There's also a metal shield behind the exciter ring. It has little windows for the sensor to slip through. The windows were not lined up on the new parts I got. I had to adjust them. Plus, on one side I couldn't get the sensor out. For that one, not only did I have to adjust the window on the new part... but I also had to put it in on an angle so as to not damage the sensor!

Just curious what brand of hub that was? The OEM are so expensive. I was looking at an SKF one.

@user-vt6uf6nl9z I think it might have been a GSP hub. They would be like half the cost of SKF which were themselves much cheaper than a factory part. I worked at this shop for 4+ years. We put a lot of inexpensive hubs in vehicles. Never had to deal with a warranty. How long would they last after a year? Who knows. How long does anything last though? I've changed lots of SKF hubs that didn't look very old. We would always put a SKF or better in anything large like a 1 ton truck but for smaller stuff it's hard to justify $300+ for a hub when you can get one for $80...

@@eurbanautotech Thank you. I found the SKF for my infiniti for $169 cdn. Which seems really good. So I have that on order. Hopefully it does the trick.

@user-vt6uf6nl9z Nice! That's a decent deal for a good product. Just be mindful of the ABS sensor. It's MUCH easier if you can remove it from the knuckle. That way you can slip the hub into the knuckle and make sure the sensor will go through a window before bolting everything down.

@@eurbanautotech After watching your video, yep I'm quite aware of that little pitfall. In Canada they use so much salt on the roads, I'm sure it's going to be a real !@#$%^& to get off. But will see. I sprayed some WD40 on a few days ago. Hopefully that penetrates a bit and loosens it (I doubt it LOL). Thanks.

@user-vt6uf6nl9z Ya, thankfully we don't use salt in BC. Working on occasional vehicles from Alberta are bad enough. I don't think I could handle being a mechanic in Ontario... If the hub is really bad then you can use a bolt and a nut to help pull the hub off the knuckle. You'll want a long bolt that's threaded all the way down its length. Put the bolt through a hole and thread the nut on it so it's between the hub and the knuckle. Hold the nut with a wrench and tighten the bolt so it's pressing against the knuckle. Now when you tighten the bolt more it can't go any further in so it causes the nut to walk up the bolt which pulls the hub off the knuckle. Of course this will damage the dust shield. Most people aren't concerned about those. It'll also mark up the knuckle pretty good as the bolt will dig into it a lot. If you have an extra hand and feel like fighting with it you can place a piece of metal between the bolt and the knuckle which will protect the knuckle. Old, worn down brake pads work well for this kind of thing. But aside from making a few dents and divots in the knuckle it won't cause any actual damage if you press directly against it with a bolt. Lisle makes a really cool tool for doing stuff like this. I have it and I love it but you gotta ask yourself how many times you'll use it. www.lislecorp.com/specialty-tools/40100-hub-remover
