This is gonna be the hardest "MJ Year in review" to watch....it was my dream to see him in concert when I was younger and knowing I'll never get that breaks my heart...I was actually looking into buying a piece of his memorabilia just because he was my idol as a kid, Michael Jackson got me through some terrible things I went through as a child and I just wanna have a piece of him to hold on to...like some of his clothes, but omg what is available for public sale is already so expensive and it gets more and more expensive the longer he has been gone.

I was at the eye doctor with family when I saw the news that MJ was rushed to the hospital. When it was said that he died, the world stopped. His death is still shocking; the world truly mourned for him. Not even John Lennon or Freddie mercury came close to that level of grieving. It just goes to show you how valuable life really is. I know this video was hard to make. Great video from the detail. Long live the king of pop. 😢🎉

Man the media really makes my blood boil with how they treated Michael. From calling him Jacko, to the headlines, and getting all up in his face with those stupid cameras. I hate what they did to him. Ever since the This Is It tour was announced I truly thought I had a chance to thank him in person for how much he and his music has helped my life. I wish he was still here. RIP King 👑🕊️🙏🏾

And yet the same media talked about how great a star he was when he died. For the first time probably since 1984 at the height of his fame, positive news about Michael Jackson became profitable and that's why the media switched gears on a dime. The moment it became lucrative to slander him they went straight back to it. Makes me think of his song Money and how these people sell their soul for money.

My father worked in the ER at UCLA medical center that day. He called me saying that Michael Jackson had a possible heart attack and was being rushed over. I was stunned but couldn't believe him since none of the news was covering it. 10 minutes after I got off the phone with him every single news outlet had picked up the story. I will never forget knowing before the world did that this might be the end for the King of Pop. RIP Michael, you will never leave my heart.

I remember June 25, 2009 so well. Irony was, that morning I just happened to be watching old footage of him back in 1993. Then 6 or so hours later I get some grim news at the gym, some guys in the locker room were saying “Michael Jackson” and “cardiac arrest” in the same sentence. At first I didn’t know what to believe or say because we’ve all heard a bunch of true AND false things regarding his health and his overall condition, but it wasn’t until I started driving home from the gym in my ol’ Pontiac (back when they were still in production) and heard “Billie Jean” on the radio… the news was starting to sink in on me like a huge waves of denial… “no, no, say it ain’t so, please let this be fake…”, but I knew deep down it was starting to become realer. I parked in the driveway, walked inside my house, and my stepsister at the time looked distressed and was motioning me toward the TV screen on CNN: ‘Michael Jackson Dead At 50’. I don’t think I’ve ever watched CNN as much as I had in my entire life as I did in summer and fall 2009. It was a very long night and a long 2nd half of the year indeed. Nobody took this news lightly especially myself. I too so badly wanted to finally see him perform live, I just wanted a mere chance to meet my musical hero for a few minutes and just tell him how much he meant to me as a fellow human being. I don’t think I would have been as happy, humble, nice, or positive if it weren’t for MJ’s demeanor. He really instilled into me that everyone deserves some love and kindness in life. 2009 may have been the end of Michael Jackson’s time on Planet Earth, but his legacy is still in full-flight beyond all the stars in the sky AND the moon. No artist will ever come close or replicate him. No one can be as humble and stay positive like he would with his fans, friends, and family. Well, I think I’ve said my piece. Everything is from my heart and soul. Just wanted to say once again, 15 years later, R.I.P. brotha. You meant the world to us- especially me. And I know you’d know that now you’re in God’s hands. And when we’d say how much we loved you, you’re up in heaven telling us all, “I love you MORE.” 🙏🏼 🌍 🎶 🎹 ✨ ✌️

The passing of Michael forever changed my life. As a kid, I watched his music videos but didn’t have a passion for music enough to listen to him (or any artist) often. After he passed, that completely changed. I was 9 years old and studying his dance moves, mimicking all his music videos, listening to all of his albums. The first album I ever owned was Michael Jackson Number Ones. Him alone sparked my entire passion and love for music, songwriting, and dancing that continues to this day. His story is the greatest lesson for each one of us, that regardless of any obstacles we come across in life, we can always have faith to do and be better. RIP king, I always pay my respects every year on June 25th.

It is impossible to imagine what this genius had to go through, being such a kind, sensitive and vulnerable person. His beauty, his charm, his soul, his personality are a gift to a world that does not deserve it. His music is timeless. We will never have another Michael Jackson, ever! No one will be able to come close to his legacy. It is sad to realize how cruel the world has been and is.

Similar reaction as well. I was in shock that evening but I really started bawling my eyes out in the following days and weeks. Took a drive upstate to Lake George for a week-long vacation but it wasn’t very enjoyable to me. The most I even remember from that trip that summer of ‘09 was sleeping in my hotel room and waking up to the ‘Blood on the Dance Floor’ short-film on MTV, VH1, I don’t remember. I do remember NY Republican aholes like Rep. Peter King & Bill O’REILLY coming out with hideous statements, disrespecting & slandering him after he wasn’t even alive to defend himself…and acquitted, too. Those bullies were all just mad that the news of the day wasn’t centered around THEM & their bullcrap politics. Fck Tom Sneddon. Fck Pete King. Fck Bull O Reilly. Fck Norm MacDonald and any “comedian” slandering him as a “ped0ph!le”.

The death of Michael Jackson completely changed my life. I was 9 years old and I was not aware of his presence, greatness and existence. All I knew was that his death was so global that everyone was talking about and my curiosity hit the highest limits. I researched this man, studied him, listened to his music, watched his dance, I became an instant fanatic. My biggest regret was not being brought up on Michael from when I was born but I’ve not wasted a second since the day he tragically died. I’m 24 now, and I’m still obsessed with the man, the myth, the legend. RIP Michael 🤍

What a horrible bunch of c*nts the media can be. He is now and forever THE King Of Pop.

Before his death, I didn't know who Michael Jackson was, as I was only 8 years old at the time. I only began to notice when my Internet connection on the day of his passing was malfunctioning. After my mom told me the news about why the Internet was not working, she said that a lot of people were overloading the internet. May the King of Pop rest in peace.

Let me tell you for people of my genereation(Generation X) specially Americans, it was like losing a family member, we literally saw him grow with us, he shaped our teenage years(80s), just like the boomers with the Beatles and the youth of the 50s with Elvis, MJ was the cultural/musical icon of our Gen/era, it really hurt, he was like a super hero, he wasn't supposed to die so young....

It was in the evening in the UK when the news broke. I will remember that night for the rest of my life. I was working at the time when the news broke. The whole place came to a stand still. I had a ticket for his This is it concerts. Afterwards I had to go outside after my shift and shed a couple of tears. That night, i walked all the way through London and could not believe how surreal it all was of what had happened. As I wondered through to central London, there were tributes to Michael Jackson everywhere you looked. I remember i stopped by in Trafalgar Square past midnight and there were pictures up of him and candles being lit from people everywhere you looked 😢. You seriously had to be there to believe it. A larger than life person who had an impact on everyone whether you were a fan or not. You won't get anyone who had an impact like that again in our lifetime.

I'll never forget that day. For some odd reason I remember being taken back by these huge white clouds passing on the horizon during my lunch break. @@mar9004 One thing that is is never in doubt is that when Michael Jackson was at his peak through the 80s nobody came close. My mum went to the bad tour at London Wembley Stadium 1988 in July. To this day she says it’s the greatest performance of a singer & dancer she’s ever seen in her life. There will never be another Michael Jackson.

I have been an admirer of Michael Joseph Jackson since September 2023. I’m crying as if I just found out about his death... But what’s more important is how the story ends (as Michael Jackson himself said): my daughter’s wedding is on March 1st. And in the wedding list she chose “If you don’t love me,” “I just can’t stop loving” you and “The Lady in my life” She is 23 years old

I am 28, was 27 on my wedding on July 8th 2023 (ironically found out during this video was 'This Is It's FIRST concert date of 2009 was July 8!! How will I process this?!) and Lady In My Life was my slow dance song. I am an 'old soul' as someone in their 20s today riding hard for Michael like this. He was the soundtrack of our wedding. And I am so proud.

The last 6 months of his lifetime. The day he died, I was going to St. Augustine Beach with my friends and staying at the beach and having a small cookout. My African friend texted me about his death and I didn’t believe it at first, so when I turned on my television. It was all over the news and my world stopped. I couldn’t believe it this really happened. We lost a huge legend whose legacy will forever live on. Most people today are still huge fans of him and know all of his dance moves. I can’t imagine how his family feels about his death, so I can hear them talk about him every single day. They all have a lot of memories of him in their living room. All he ever wanted in his whole life was to feel loved and accepted by everyone. He hated the media. I remember watching This IS It DVD on my dvd player watching him perform his songs on stage. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his music. I never had the opportunity to meet him in person. I would have loved it. R.I.P. Michael Joseph Jackson!!!
