So glad you did this vid. I'm getting tint and the deck lid for a Christmas gift from my wife. I just about ordered the rtr. I definitely like the way the one from Fred's parts wraps around the edges.

Yes, I definitely think that this is a great option! I like RTR, but I think Freds Parts did a better job designing their decklid!

Love it on my Mustang, I went with the matte black pony and it looks so good. Great video. I did have to go and get more tape because I forgot to clip the pins off of the back of the pony once I put it on the cover and the pins lifted it off the trunk. My fault I should have known after I dry fitted it and saw that it was not going down flat.

LOL...That's the look I'm going for...when I had my 2013 v6, I did the GT grille conversion, so, I had the old v6 grill sitting around. I removed that front grille pony and cut off the tabs. Now I plan to install that on the smooth decklid using 3m tape. I still need to figure out How am I going to fill up the groves on the back of the pony emblem though!

I'm not going to lie im scared to cut into my car ,but man it does looks really good pony on the back too.. I wasn't expecting that pony to look good for my taste but you got my sold right now lol

AR3Z-6342528-F is the updated OEM deck lid panel that isnt going to look like orange peel/need correction after a few years. It's held in by tape and the 2 screws. Fits better, not a knockoff part.

I thought the purpose of this part was to go for a more clean look without the emblem or huge gas cap. Would look better without the pony but to each its own i guess

I received mine from Fred's parts the other day. Didnt get it for Christmas like planned but ordered it last Monday and it was delivered Thursday. Can't wait til the weather cooperates. Graham have you had any bonding issues or anything since your install ?

none at all! it's holding very well, just be sure that you clean off the surface thoroughly before placing the decklid.

Does that emblem sit flush on the deck lid because of the curve in it, my howling coyote back don't sit flush

DIS50GO not completely but it’s pretty dang close! You definitely don’t notice that it doesn’t unless you look closely.

I installed this on my car over the weekend. It seems to really attract dust and pollen much more than the stock decklid. Have you had any problems like this? And do you have any suggestions on what I could do to prevent this, besides washing it every day

Well yeah! here you have the option to do what you want, personally I think the faux gas cap looks pretty bad, but the pony not too bad. I'd even say install a light up pony, heck yeah! For GT500 guys I wish they made a light up snake. That would look pretty gang awesome, at least in my humble opinion.

Last I checked it looks like they got a distribution deal with -LMR- _actually I think it was CJPP_ and they're selling it under their name now on the store site

I’m about to do the same job to mine with the same exact parts, is there a gap in between the emblem and the deck lid? If so is there a way to fix it?

There's a very minor one that you really don't notice. The 3m tape on the back of the pony badge gets plenty of contact to hold the emblem in place.

Nice video, same price as a RTR. So why do you recommend this one. I'm looking to get one or the other within the next month

DIS50GO the fitment of this decklid is better than the RTR. This is designed to wrap around the edges of the trunk so that no painted metal shows behind it which is a problem with the RTR decklid even when you get it perfectly aligned. Also, if you want to add an emblem like I did, this decklid has markings that allow you to align it perfectly on the center of the decklid which is hugely helpful.

I sent them an email to get the ball rolling. Make sure you have something to offer them too though because people don't just give things out for free. For instance, I agreed to make this KZfaq video to promote their brand via my platform AND to shoot a short cinematic commercial for them to use as an advertisement online.

I would not buy a mustang that had this decklid messed with. You are trusting they did it/got it done correctly. Faux gas cap looks better than this. This isn't a S550 Fusion.
