This guy lives in the desert. Nothing else to do than waste 2 hours to remove the entire front end just for a 1 minute job. Just go through the back of the housing. Thx Dallas Texas

I'm glad I found this comment. I'm about to do this today. I just knew there was a way to do the bulb change without tearing apart the front end. I'm changing both bulbs just in case.

If the LED's go out, yes, you have to replace the entire assembly. Another reason why I prefer older cars. LOL

Condensation/moisture is a known issue and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully you received the GM letter about reimbursement. They’re rectifying the issue in a shitty way for people who need the headlights replaced but reimbursement for prior costs seems decent.

This is not how you change the low beam headlamps, my mechanic removed the air filter box to replace the right front and you unloosen the fuse box and reach in beside the battery case to replace the left front which is a tight squeeze but is doable, he had both replaced in less than 30 minutes. What this video is good for is when you will have to replace both headlight assemblies due to the reflectors and projectors going bad which almost always happens to these halogen headlight assemblies. You can install new halogen bulbs if they get dull looking, but that is not the problem, it is the reflectors and the projector and the only way to fix it is to replace the entire headlight assembly. Oh by the way, you might as well replace both headlight assemblies while you have the front off the car, usually when one goes bad the other is not far behind and you will be back in their again when you could have replaced both the first time. There is also a LED upgrade headlight kit that can be installed but there will be some wiring issues to resolve to make it work and to keep the check engine light from coming on if you decide to go the LED route. @@gregblanton9386 Whew! Glad I read this comment. I gotta/wanna replace the low beams in the wifes. I drove it for the first time in a while and noticed the lows look really yellow. The brights will guide NASA to touchdown, but the lows are horrible. The dash said the volt output was 13.9 and that's in parameter, si guess it's just age. I am wanting to put in some night crystal white bulbs. Thanks for throwing this in.

You know toy can pull the washer fluid neck off for more room right? Pops right off and pushed right back in.

Those are LED's. They're part of the housing assembly. If they go out, you have to replace the entire thing.

Yes you can, just buy led light bulb on amazon, its cheap, and last longer. 50000 hr or so, just choose the 6000k or 6500k, ( daylight light.) or 80000 ml the higher the number the brighter the light. And get someone to change it for you. Take about 40 minutes to change both of them if they know how. :) i did on my 2012.

My car is the same way I have a 2014 srx as well and I can’t see anything if the high beams are not on

My fiance owns a '15 and I couldn't believe how BAD the low beam is. No fog on the lens and I had the dealer adjust the aim under warranty. It's still awful, so I've got LED bulbs as an upgrade over the stock garbage . I did this on my '11 Malibu and it's amazing how much better you'll be able to see.

Low beams, great. Good luck getting to all the bulbs when they do burn out (airbox and fuse cover will do nothing here). You will have no choice but to remove the entire housing to change out the high beams, turn signals, and even the housing if the LEDs burn out entirely. the car's frame, body and radiator support is in the way of those bulbs. Its 2020 now and people are watching this video for a reason, since their bulbs have probably burned out by now (hence the 78,000+ views).

@@Mr10Alpine Well I got the drivers side turn signal changed today. Took off fusebox cover reached down with my left hand and got it out. It took a couple tries to get the bulb in but the whole thing was 25 minutes. Use gloves. I'd pull the bumper if it's the passenger side or the DLR because If I have to get the tools out it's easier to take the bumber off than Dick around with the air cleaner and hoses, not to mention I'd replace all the bulbs at that point.

LOL. Here's a challenge: Try replacing a turn signal bulb with all that stuff still in there, or the high beam, especially the driver's. And do a video on it.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Try replacing the high beams, or turn signals, with the assembly still in place. And do a video on it, as a rebuttal.

I agreed, he did lots of work , good for replaced the housing, but just the lowbeam bulb, he can get them done in 20 -30 minutes

Bulbs can be change without doing this.
