Im with you, brotha. Took that assembly apart and put it back together too many times. Out of the blue I found on Amazon X8R Clips. I crushed one of their clips on and it's been working for 8 months. Thanks for the videos and say "ya" tuda upers!

Yes this helped greatly. Thanks for the original video and update. Dealer wanted $350 for the repair on my 2012 Equinox. Only the 2013 is under GM recall currently. I bought the entire ACDelco 84241847 GM Original Equipment Windshield Wiper System Module that included the motor for $67 from Amazon. Original GM part and exact fit, just plug and play no messing around with the press fit connections. Did have a bit of trouble removing the wiper arms but should have had them lifted up to relieve the spring tension when pulling off. Otherwise no issues, just needed to run the wipers to set up the correct wiper position before locking down.

Thanks for watching and commenting! Crazy how GM has not recalled all years of this type of assembly. Good find on the Amazon part, I think someone else mentioned that in the comments before. I'm glad the video helped you out some and you were able to fix it yourself, good work!

Your videos were great. It kept me away from the Dorman bushing but I couldn’t find a transmission in a junk yard near me and the only one I found was $30 cheaper than a new Dorman transmission. I buy the Doorman transmission for $130 & had to transfer my wiper motor over but the motor wasn’t calibrated right and when I would connect the linkage it wasn’t in the right position. After 10 days the cheap bushing popped off. I looked back on line for the OEM expecting to pay the $180 for the OEM with a new wiper motor. Amazon had a deal on it for $50 so I jumped on it. A brand new OEM with a new motor for $80 cheaper then the Dorman without the motor. It was a great find like your videos were. I had the new piece installed in 10 minutes! Dealership wanted $180 for part and $200 for labor. With the AC Delco OEM I got from Amazon I had the whole thing done in 10 minutes for $50 plus the frustration from the Dorman product but since I got my $130 back I’m ok!

To all who have spent money on this fix, you can be reimbursed. GM has a special coverage adjustment for the wiper transmission static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10171252-9999.pdf for vehicles 2010 - 2012 and 2014 - 2017 for Equinox and Terrain. If you have not gotten it fixed yet, take it to the dealer it will be covered provided that is fall in the 10 years or 150,000 miles ranges.

Every one heads up. Canada recalled all Equinox from 2010-16 you have to make a new drain hole on the passenger side air intake, it's making water drain straight onto the ball joint losing your grease and corroding the joint itself. Drill the hole get a new linkage from amazon. Your welcome.

Anybody with an Equinox that has this problem needs to file a complaint with the NTHSA. So far, only the 2013 Equinox has the recall with the exact same wiper transmission. Canada has a recall for all the Equinoxs with this problem. Not here in the United States. If enough people complain to the NHTSA about this problem, they will inform Chevy to recall all of these.

I'm not sure if the 2015's have the same wiper transmission or not but I would guess they are similar.
