I love my 4.6 3v!

Amazing...I remember this review and I'm still amazed that Car and Chevy gave the Mustang such high praises!!!

& yet it still did 0-60 in 4.9 seconds & ran 13.6 @ 104.9 mph & topped out at 149 mph in a later test. Doesn't sound so pathetic to me. I'm a Corvette guy & I'm saying this. If it's pathetic, why even watch the video?

I bought a 2010 grabber blue gt about 6 months ago and I love it but if I had the chance to do it all over again I would undoubtedly go with a 5.0 . I've been looking in to adding a supercharger but its very pricey

if i was ford, i'd get that gt rear spoiler back on. but i LOVE the mustang any way.

hey that 5.0 still gets 25 mpg which isn't bad considering the power it puts out, but the jump in horse power on the v6 is going get a lot of people to buy the v6 for the power and mileage.

It looks great in person. When I first saw it on the net I didn't like it but in person it's nice.

those tires and diff really make the difference, this is a good move by ford, although would have liked to see more weight being removed

For the 2011 model year Ford is releasing a 305 HP V6 and a 412 HP V8. With those two motors it'll smoke the Camaro and the Challenger in straight-line performance and handling. Also with the 412 HP V8 it may be able to keep up with the BMW M3. :-)

Honestly love the sound of this v8, but id take a 2011 v6 any day

@LZFAN2009 They work...adequately. UCA/LCA and multilink IRS are far superior to struts and live axles. That is a fact that can be proven. And I would love to drive one. Unfortunately, I can't afford one. And yes, I wish they would make a law outlawing McPherson struts. Or at least relegating them to cheap FWD econoboxes. RWD cars need a proper suspension system.

@Swervin309 Actually the Mustang is getting two new engines for 2011. The V6 is going to be a 305hp 3.7L and the new 5.0L V8 is rumored to have right above 400hp and 390tq. All 2011 Mustangs will have LSD, dual exhaust and 6spd manual or autos also.

I Agree 110% with you.its not about how fast they are or how good they look,its about what they really are,the stang is all about the look and muscle,and the corvett and cmaro are different in more that 1 way.((good post)) thumbs up :-)

Don't forget that not everyone buys car based on 1/4 mile times. Exterior styling is usually the #1 factor (other than price).

@heartlessvietboy You don't take into account the fuels burned at yours truly, the power station. Add it up to poluting about as much as our suburban does in a year just for charging it.

Ford did a nice job on the 2010, I'm a camaro guy, but this is a nice mustang.

It suppose to be like a traction control device on vehicles that, prevents spinning when, taking off fast.

Thanks, I realized that after I posted (prices, I mean). Really, the only thing that's making the Mustang a viable competitor for my next car is price and handling. I build both up to $35k, I get the better handling Mustang exactly how I want it, or the faster Camaro missing some luxuries.

In 2010 the v8 had 315hp and the v6 had 210hp. 2011+ mustangs have 415hp for the v8 and 305hp for the v6.

The 4.6 V8 only has 300bhp. The new 2010 model has a 15bhp because of the CAI from the Bullitt edition.

while your right, but aftermarket parts are easier to find for the mustang than the 370z and there are more varieties of parts to chose from to make the car your own.

@normalais The 5.0L Coyote is too aLuminum and yeah it's a new engine, but it's a bored and stroked 4.6L from they previous years. They went back to the displacement of the 302 b/c of the demand from the Foxbody days of using the 302.

@Miguel122691 Its a z06, no special corvette. It has a standered LT1. Its entire body is fiberglass, very small amount of plastic inside. And a c4 corvette aint shity, its built right. Besides the rear bumper not fitting correctly, but it'll more than likely out live most.

@Miguel122691 the corvette engines are built with the same materials by Ferrari thats why the front doesnt twirl around every time you go around a corner and the corvettes im talking about are from tuning companies u no LINGENFELTER HENNESSY and GIEGER these are 3 of the many tuning companies that make faster vettes than the any mustang and what i meant by a wild tuning company is they didnt just take a car and just have a field day that car is tuned to perfection to beat cars 5 time its price

@normalais How would you even know you don't have a new 5.0L. All the 5.0L is a bored and stroked 4.6L. They only went back to the 5.0 b/c of the demand for it. The new 5.0 is aluminum block too.

That is the one to buy.But there will be a lot of deals for 2010 .I'd like to see the Boss back with 450 Hp.Just to snub the Hemi srt 6.1 all with just 5 litre .

i dont know much about cars but i know alot about planes and the mustang coz i actually have one.. 09 that is.. a P51 WW II fighter plane was called a mustang due to its HP and tremendous torque capability back then.. The mustang we all know today has the same concept of the name but it didnt came from a plane and yeah i should know coz i was historian for the P51 and for the "flying fortress"..

@Samimiamiv1 The Corvette Z06 is in a completely different car class then the Mustang is. The Dodge Viper, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, and the Shelby GT500 are in the same class. The Ford GT and the ZR1, while in a similar class, don't match up either. The ZR1 was designed intentionally to outrun some of the world's fastest Ferrari's, as well as be the fastest American built car. You must also keep in mind that the ZR1 is only better in performance. The ZR1 has an MSRP, base price, of $108k.

Car & Driver... 0-60 = 5.5, 1/4 Mile= 13.9 @ 103.8 * I actually just read the article yesterday. They said traction was limited on this run. Not a bad car for the money I guess. I still like to drive American though.

i just bought a 2010 GTand I love it. It blows away the 2007 Black shelby gt I had. It will do 150 mph real quick.

Sure a V6 can make as much HP, but not as much TQ. The Mustang's HP/liter is lower because the 4.6L is lower compression and runs on 87 octane, not premium like most import V6's. The Mustang GT's 4.6L engine is not DOHC either. The new 5.0L motor coming out next year should put to rest any HP concerns.

I'm a chevy guy but I may just have to take a hard look at the new Stang with the Coyote motor in it....

@omgboom5131 where you been for the past year? fords new v6 makes 305 hp, and is way faster than the camaro. and you can have a convertable. and the mustang actually, you know, handles. and its not 300lbs overweight. and it has much better build quality and materials... camaro loses again to the ford

I almost bought a 2010 Shelby 2 days ago--but got pissed that the dealers were not abiding by the Internet prices that Ford posts on their Canada site . They are all asking $10,000 over list.I will either wait for 2011 GT or heaven forbid --- buy a V-6 then build it myself to Shelby type performance , in a couple of years.V-6 Mustangs are selling for $22,000 Shelby for $57,000 give me a break. Drop in a supercharger even with the 6 -- then some nice tires and wheels--- like the good old days.

I'm a camaro guy, but i think the new front looks great, but the back looks too sleepy and not aggressive enough. And i dont care for the antenna either. The interior is also a little bland for my taste, but the color choices are awesome.

@lou3854 im talking about the cars, if you have passion to mustang then you cant do anything about it. you will see your mustang the best car in the world weather if it was bad or good you will see it great. as i see audi a good car cuz i love my S4, you see your mustang the best car in the world, and it doesnt matter what people say oh your mustang sucks blah blah blah, you just going to ignore them as anyone else in your position would do. and it matters that you love your car or not, the end!

i wonder why dint ford offer the full track pack in the base gt mustang they only offer it in the premium model but then again you can get it on the ford racing website with warranty

@Gilleouplus overall i think is the same ! because if you get it Manual it might be faster (depend on the driver) but then it gets old always shifting and stuff . while the auto is good dont need to worry about shifting just drive!! but then it gets boring and wish you had a manual and have more fun! lol so at the end its the same in my opinion !!

Thats a great argument ultogamma. You proved your point there. And ya a V6 convertable is a girls car nobodys arguing otherwise, but a GT sure as hell isnt even a convertable GT. Neither is the V6 coupe. Thats only one model out of the 6 different engine/ roof styles u can get with a mustang. Calling it girly becasue of one of its trims/models is pretty bad argument.

Don't buy the factory tires! I put good year eagle gt's on and they grip like crazy.

Is there a 2011 400hp 5.0L coming out? Ford gets an extra 85hp from an extra 0.4L, wow. Or is it supercharged? This Ford does look good.

well actually we found out it will actually be making 400hp and the z28 should have 556hp if they make it

they keep calling it a "log axle"..even though it works better than the irs more specific,in the camaro or challenger

did some math and 315/4.6L=68.47. Then 68.48*6.2=424.58 which means if ford made a 6.2L they could be making 424hp or 425hp whatever like the Camaro and be giving the Camaro a stomping... or 68.48*5.0 (original mustang 5.0) They could be making 342.4hp. Still good competition. Dont get me wrong im a ford and chevy fan :D

true, but even a MSRP 370Z is faster. Is is like a few thousand cheaper and puts up good numbers. If Ford put bigger engines in, that would mean higher price and more fuel. It is what should do in the first place and make higher performing and fuel efficent cars if they want to compete.
