Aaron Branson i just used a ratchet and a long socket. I sped up the video so it probably took the same amount of time. I’m glad this helped, that’s why I put up my videos. If if can save someone money or time, it’s a good day.

Hi Charkatak. The design doesn’t allow for wiggle room or alignment of the housing with the rest of the bodywork. Everything fits tightly and doesn’t really move so I had no issues with the alignment of the housing and getting the bumper back on properly.

@@jimminycricket6618 Interesting...I took my car to Acura for a bulb replacement on driver side as I injured my left hand and needed low beam light replacement asap. They did the job but when I got the car, the corner(round part) of the headlight housing was pressing more on the upper side of the fender. Also between the top of the headlight housing where it meets with fender, there was about 5 mm gap and when I pressed on it, it would creak because one of the corners was rubbing the fender. Also the bumper somehow wasn't as perfect as it was before they removed it. The techs didn't touch the passenger side and it is perfect! I had to talk to regional manager for them to redo the job. Car is in the shop. So before you tighten the bolts on the headlight housing, could there is some very minor play, such as couple of mm to somehow position the headlight to be close to the fender and make the gas more or less, as needed?

If you’re asking if there is a way to put this back together incorrectly, the answer is yes. If you rush and don’t align the housing when you put it back i imagine you could introduce a number of problems.

@@jimminycricket6618 I guess that is what I was asking. Thanks for clarifying this. FYI my vehicle is RL, not MDX but that may not matter much. I was very upset when I saw the imperfections as I brought the car to them to fix one issue and in return got few misaligned parts of the bumper, headlight and on top of that the techs mixed half of the clips, mixed 2 different clip types and the garnish/cover of the the radiator was not fully installed and was 40% loose. I am sure, I would have done a much better job especially if I have the shop manual with proper instructions :(

@@GrabinGears Replaced the other one why? If its working? I have to change the headlight on my wife's MDX because of moisture problems too. I only ordered replacements for the one damaged side.

@@tite732 I see people love wasting money. You don't have to replace the headlight.....order butyl from theretrofitsource or Amazon and seal up the headlight. When one ballast goes you replace the other as well the same as when one bulb goes out because the new bulb will be extremely brighter than the old one. The same goes with the ballast. Buy OEM bulbs (osram)

@@GrabinGears I don’t know that I have the DIY skills to refurbish a headlight myself. I already ordered one and it wasn’t too bad on price with warranty. It’s refurbished. I will keep your advice in mind in case the other side decides to develop the same issue. Thanks 4 the advice.
