The automatic parking system may not be necessary but the rear view camera and audible parking sensors really help.

I feel smart when I drive my Prius on the road next to many 10 mpg vehicles like the Dodge ram. Literally, my car is a beast. Not only that, my Prius also has camping features so it saves me hotel money if needed.

Those who keep whining how people shouldn't be driving if they can't reverse to a park, or parallel parking..think about..well for example old people...handicap person ? Maybe if you have neck injury ? Intelligent Parking realy can realy help those people.

So u r really that pathetic u say a handicap person shouldnt drive? dont they got the right to drive then? . Im handicapped and i can drive perfectly fine, this feature helps me alot and it was a great feature to add to the car. Just because toyota came out with intelligent parking assist in their main cars before any other brand in its price class doesnt mean its stupid. I bet u wouldnt complain if it came first in a mainstream audi or BMW...

this is pretty innovative... but honestly, i think people should be able to park in for themselves... they should just have a warning alert if your are too close to another car to discourage parking accidents...

Prius is much better than other cars. But I agree with some folks out there. Drive should always practice parking whenever there is chance. Technology is for just assistance only, auto pilot mode in plane. They can takeover your steering. That way drivers can learn from the system. Remember, we can't rely on tech 100%

Impressive technology, I would love to have this for long trips on the freeway. But when it comes to parking, learn how to parallel park! It's not that hard with a little practice...

No, it comes only with the executive and premium packages. Some of these cars doesnt even have a option for it in some countries.

also, i think that automatic shifting is great because of the fact all you need is one foot and one hand, instead of two feet and two hands. its just a lot less work when driving especially in traffic and when you have to accelerate and then slow down

they should make a intelligent auto drive mode for street or hwy , so it can drive you home when u want to sleep or if the driver is lost. or u can't see in extremely poor visibility.

darktigerx some new cars comes with night vision and thermal vision so the car can see like it was no fog. That will within 5 yrs be an option for all cars. Tesla already got autopilot and will within the next 2 yrs be completely autonomous. Tesla’s can already park themselves, u drive up to the entrance of a hotel for example, then u tell the car to find a parking spot and park, then come back when u click a button on ur phone app.

Yea, its a prius... one of the first cars to come with this feature in its executive package. The prius was and still is one of the most intelligent cars on the road, to bad people like u r to ignorant to actually appreciate technology... I bet u dont know anything about the cars u hate, u just hate them cause others hate them.

2:14 Yes, sit there and block all movement in the road as you fumble with the device. Parallel parking assistance? Fine. But a standard parking space? And you already have a back-up camera? In any case, Ford/Lincoln's system is much more accurate and user friendly.

I have to agree, this is a novel idea but if I were to use this to paralell park in center city Philadelphia I would have traffic backed up for 2 blocks by the time I went through all the settings to make sure I parked correctly, easier to just park it yourself.

Pretty soon these cars will pilot, and drive themselves; the technology is there. The automakers wants to slowly push the envelope of featured bells, and whistles; however, these are not major break throughs! If you think so, you just wait and see what is coming next's!

3rd gen (2010 and up) was the first mainstream car from toyota with this and its only in the more expensive packages. Some cars dont even have this option in some countries.

@ratc1 Hmm, Prius', manual-stuff and pleasures to drive... Na, you don't buy a Prius as a 'drivers' machine, it's techie through and through, so 'Bring on the Gadgets', I'd say! I think I have the best of both worlds: 2004 Prius for the family, 1996 MGF for my driving pleasure :)

its better to learn how to park rather then learning how to park with the intelligent parking mode. with the reverse camera, i don't think its necessary to use the intelligent parking as it takes way to long to park. You'll be holding up loads of traffic plus i don't think its accurate.

The car system all women dream of!! But I personally hate it, as well as most automatic stuff, like automatic gearbox! I'm not interested to pay extra cash for stuff I like to control myself, because it is by controlling those what gives me pleasure to drive in the first place!!

Why does it bother ppl so much to have parking assistance who cares!!! I think it's something cool they added I may kno how to park and definitly kno how to drive but when it's really hard parallel park I make my bf do it so this would be helpful if he wasn't there.
