Thank you for putting such a good quality video on here. I've done a few DIY clutches over the years and was put off doing our Astra because the "book" says drop the suspension which is a pain. You have shown how it can be professionally done just moving the 'box aside. This is a quality job, and I can see from the comments that there other diy-ers giving lots of respect. You certainly know how to deliver. All the best.

Tried a little heat and have left penetrating fluid to penetrate overnight. Ive put it all together again and may look at it again tomorrow. But I removed the battery tray to identify all the other steps so as long as I can get that bolt out it should be ok. Cant understand how that bolt would get stuck really
@HarveyA2 жыл бұрын
@@WMCS tried again today and the same bolt is just not budging. It’s the upper bolt of 3 on the rear mount. Moves a fraction of an inch each way with an impact wrench but that’s it. Tried heat and wd40. Hate to say it but i think it’s gonna have to get towed to the garage. 😩

Hi Golfman..,, it’s a MAC tool. Hey bought it off from the Van tool man about 7 years ago ...
@oscarmontero57244 жыл бұрын
Rainy or windy, Kevin makes it comfy! And I think in about 4h including video. What videocamera are you using?. I bet it takes more time to secure the car on the jacks. This time there was no need to drain the gearbox oil, as it seems. And I thought that Torx bolts and screws were just Renault kingdom, but it is not! This one is full of them. I really hate them. Well done Kevin!
@WMCS4 жыл бұрын
Oscar Montero this repair including filming took about 4hours. So that was a very good guess. I was using a GoPro hero session 4... I’ve recently upgraded to a GoPro hero session 5.... much better quality picture but a shorter time battery life ....it’s about the size of a matchbox .. so it’ll fit anywhere ... This repair didn’t require an oil drain as they have a sump and the oil doesn’t spill out of the driveshaft .... I aways advise customers to get the oil change at their local garage on these .... Definitely plenty of Torx on vauxhall ... The part that I always take extra extra extra caution is the the tiny very shallow female torx bolts that holds the CSC.. they are very very tight as they’re fitted with locktite... unless firm pressure and a steady hand is applied. It can easily round off... then it’s definitely an 8hour job.... the trick with them is to crack it open then tighten it back up. Slacken then do up a few times to break the locktite glue ...
@WMCS4 жыл бұрын
Oscar Montero by the way thanks a lot for the review and your input on the channel

@@WMCS You are welcome! Thanks for the tip on the bolts. Yes they are super tiny. I do not know what harm could bigger ones do... Nice videocamera! Better that than the skin. Waiting for next video! Thanks! 👍
