truly the best men's performance EVER! that I've seen having watched figureskating for over 40 years. What a clinic he puts on. Artistry, showmanship, skill, work ethic, and just the pride of Canada. See you and that triple axel at World's Patrick. Good job!

Like I said, if he keeps up this level of skating, he will be virtually unbeatable unless a prodigy comes along out of nowhere. The judges obviously love him, his smoothness and edges are at the very top, wonderful spins/footwork/choreography.... AND quads!

What no one has remarked on is that this piece is in 5/4 (hence "take 5" as the title). Most pieces are in 2 (2-step), in 3 (the waltz) or 4 (the march, foxtrot, quickstep and most pop music) to move to a piece of music in 5 beats to the bar, is incredible! Only Torvill and Dean have ever done this.

@Emrak304 I mean in general. He simply doesn't use his arms during the footwork as well as other people.

maybe he should start considering doing two quads, one in combination seeing how inconsistent his 3A is! :D

@parermayla Nope. Yes I am a fan of Patrick Chan. I'm proud of the Canadian skaters. I guess am bias because I'm Canadian. Right now he is making us look good.

@mistletoe88 He had said in interviews that he is planning 2 quads for the free skate.

@Emrak304 Look at Chan's upper body movement during his step sequences, though...it's not as dynamic.

He's an excellent skater, spectacular really, but Takahashi's twice the performer he'll ever be. I feel like Patrick doesn't connect with the music and feel it, like he's not emotionally invested in his programs.

I used to somewhat appreciate PJ Wong's commentary but now she just prattles on and on and on. Many useless, annoying statements - "I'm going to go out a limb...oh look, I was right. HAHAHA. I'm so good at this." Not to mention a huge Canadian bias. "This is the most artistic program figure skating has to offer", "He has set the bar for step sequences in this era". It's as if Stephane Lambiel, Daisuke Takahashi, etc never existed. Josse Chouinard is just as bad...together they are insufferable.
