great video that went into specific details. I have a 2016 Ram 2500 that gave me that P0882 code and check engine light when I was traveling at highway speed. The instrument cluster read 4 so I suspected it stayed in that gear. I am going to check the fuses and clear the codes. If that doesn't work then I will take it to the dealership to have them investigate it further. Thanks.

Yes Sir. The dealership replaced a $10.00 fuse....the labor cost me $165.00. It was a simple fix that I should have been able to do on my own if I knew where the fuse was. Now I do. Thanks for asking.@@jake2772

Hi Phillip: I have a 2012 Ram 1500 now in LIMP mode 4 th gear. My truck has some electric gremlins in it for a few years now. The battery will sometimes drain out over night. Neither my honest neighbourhood mechanic nor my over priced Ram dealer could find the source of the fault. So my mechanic added a trickle charger to the battery and as long as i plugged it in every night it worked. Then the plug to the trickle charge broke off and I replaced it with a Canadian Tire one. We also added a battery disconnect like I used on my travel trailer to disconnect the battery when there was no place to plug in the truck. Now my truck is in LIMP mode. nearly $600 of investigation at the RAM dealer finds that the battery is the fault for the drain. ??????? It is a relatively new battery because we changed it when the problem was first diagnosed. I had the battery disconnected for the winter and it started fine this spring. Last fall the truck started showing strange signs when you locked the door with the fob it would unlock and the 4 ways would flash. I put it away for the winter and this spring one of the 2 fobs seemed to be the problem. They are now telling me that I MAY need a new solenoid on the transmission foe $1,700 more. If that doesn't fix it I will need to replace the transmission at between $3,000 and $5,000. I believe that after I do that the gremlins will re create the LIMP mode. I'm retired and this truck only has 160,000 km and otherwise is in mint shape. How do I convince them that the problem is probably in the wiring? Thanks glen

Wow that sucks Glen. I doubt the two problems are related but it's possible. When it's in Limp Mode do you know what code or codes it's setting? I agree that your battery is not likely the fault of the parasitic draw but killing it repeatedly does shorten its life as well. How's the transmission fluid? Dark or burnt?

Hi Phillip Thanks for getting back so quickly Unfortunately when I disconnected the battery I wiped out the code. If the battery had drained I think they would have been wiped out too.

My 2012 Mazda 3 did the same thing I got new battery, checked/tested alternator and starter and they’re good car still won’t start. I’m going to check the relays maybe the problem is there !

I have a 2008 2500 with 6.7 that every time you hit a big bump truck goes into limp mode and gives a P0882. any idea what would cause that? Thanks

Sorry just saw this comment. You've probably got a shorting circuit. Check closely tge wiring harness running down the left side of the bellhousing. Also check harnesses under the TIPM.

Having the same issue. Mine started as a p0750 code. Then got the p0882 code second and my fuse is now blown. Have the shift solenoid to install but now the fuse. Could that solenoid case the fuse to blow? I had to drive a few miles to get home. Before the second code all I had todo is restart the truck and it would drive normal.

It's remotely possible that the solenoid assembly could blow the fuse but it's usually a short to ground on the circuit feeding the transmission and sensing circuits back to the pcm. Has there ever been any engine or transmission work done in the past?

I need help with my 2013 ram 1500!! Po882 code and po750 code. Unplugged battery and code disappeared and no check engine light now... i ordered selenoid pack and filter kit.... should i do that or fuses?

If you drive it and the codes return right away you need to diagnose it.

why not take an amperage reading with a fuse buddy or a scope with amp clamp over jumper wire with fuse installed??

I would do that if the circuit ran an electric motor but it does not. I'll bet that if the fuse blows again there is a chafed wire that I didn't see between the TIPM and PCM or transmission. Just not going to chase a ghost unless it fails again. This truck ahs had an engine swap done a couple years ago and then the transmission was out to fix the rear seal last year.

Let me know if you figure it out. I’ve changed everything except the engine and transmission and the mechanic is now saying a bad valve/valve spring and engine needs head job or rebuilt engine (both being within the same price range)

@@PhillipBailey okay long story. 2006 dodge ram 1500 5.7l hemi. Always had a weird problem where truck wouldn't wanna move in D all I had to do was either put in reverse and try again or shut truck off and try again and it would fix it. Then later on now. My truck battery kept dying and so we had to keep jumping it and then all my dash lights are on, 4wd doesn't work now, transfercase buzzing, and truck barely moves like the transmission is in limp mode. Codes p0882 and p0700. Is it a wire?

@@hotshots2143 P0882 is low voltage to the transmission control module. P0700 is the Transmission control requesting the ECM illuminate the MIL. Since you're saying the battery is going dead I'd check the alternator output, battery and cable connections. Could also have a bad diode in the alternator. What codes are in the 4x4 module?

@@PhillipBailey yeah and we didn't scan for codes there we just have a obd 2 scanner and only got p0882 and p0700. Also forgot to say we replaced the battery, 2 sensors, transmission and pcm and still nothing so ill have to try out what you said. Anything else?
