@@sub-zero1128 Well if you can recall that massive lawsuit/recall with the so-called gas pedals and floor mat issues that was the first one that happened. The one followed after that would be the engines for the four cylinders dunking up and causing a massive failures. Later on there are issues with RAV4 hybrids not filling up all the way. I mean the list goes on, like I said the newer there are more problems that seem to occur. The best ones are Avalon, all red trucks/SUVs. And every Lexus is great that's rwd and based off the Avalon 💯

Your car is way young, still! Do regular maintenance and that vehicle will serve you long into the future. I owned the same year model and passed it along to my son and its still going strong at almost 190K. I then bought a 2019 SE Camry, now at 16K miles it still feels like it's new. Just completed a 600-mile trip the past couple of days and I can truly say this car was a delight on the open road.

Not uncommon for them to get up to 600.000kms as Taxis. A guy brings his 2018 model in for a service to our shop every 3 months, does 15000kms in that time. Currently sitting at 373000kms. No major issues. I currently have a 2010 with 228000kms, bought it 2 years ago with 181000 and hasn't missed a beat. 👌 Love these cars so much. Not exciting but always get you to where you want to go without a problem. Styling holds up well too considering this shape came out in 2006.

I had a 90 pontiac 6000 V6 that I racked up 495K on before I wrecked it. Original engine and trans. Original R-12 charge in the air conditioner. Didn't use any oil and it shifted smooth. Only thing outside of routine maintenance and fluid changes was two alternators and a water pump and a heater core. I still got 28 MPG when I wrecked it. At 350K I replaced shocks and struts and ball joints. Car was in mint condition. No rust problems in the southeast. Interior had no rips or tears. Like yours driver seat was worn and the headliner was starting to sag. I've never had another car match the reliability of that one.

I drove two company vehicles back then, a '90 6000 and an '89 Celebrity. Both rock-solid with the 4-cyl & I put lots of miles on each vehicle. Never had a minute's trouble from either of them. I have a 2010 Camry LE with the same motor. Has 93,000 miles and it’s my moms car but I’ve gotten old enough to take care of it now. It was maintained by mechanics of course and they didn’t take care of it the best and I’m so glad I can come in and take care of it. I’ve done an oil change with AMSOIL OE oil and changed the air filter as it was absolutely filthy and I cleaned the MAF sensor, put some AMSOIL fuel cleaner and it’s been driving so much better. I plan on changing the oil again, transmission flush with AMSOIL fluid and also changing the trans filter and cleaning the magnets, of course the PCV valve and yeah the power steering pumps in the way of the darn thing but I’ll pull the intake manifold and change that gasket as well as changing that valve and line, put some AMSOIL Heavy Duty Metal protector on the suspension so it’ll never rust and I wash the car frequently now. Oh I’m going to also powerfoam it to clean the valves and mainly throttle body. It’s an absolute tank and it drives great.

For PCV valve it’s under air intake manifold. You can access it from left side of the bay. 14mm ratchet and extensions. To put the new one I found a way that takes little more work but can be done at home. Remove the engine mount on that side and then lift the engine with jack. Then insert new PCV valve in the hose that connects on it and spin the hose to thread the valve back on the motor. Took me about 2 hours not removing things just struggling to get the new one on😂. And took me about 10 minutes to relive the old one. And guess what the old one wasn’t bad either according to the dealer I bought new one from. If you shake it and it makes noise it’s good lol. And new one and old one made same noise. Since I had it out I replaced it anyway. No difference in oil consumption it still burned oil. Don’t waste your time and money. I had 200k miles on mine when I did this and didn’t help. I also did the timing chain and tensioner and guides and all. That also didn’t help with burning oil. I had misfire in cylinder 3. End up tearing engine down installed new piston and rings and machined the head and don’t forget to change the cam sprocket if you do end up getting this work done. That initial knocking noise at startup is from that sprocket. Once all that done my car isn’t burning oil no knocking no engine light. Basically rides like new. These cars are known to have burning oil issue after 100k. Well most of them do so just know when buying one that at some point you will be dealing with this stuff if you aren’t already. But I spent $2000 in repairs which I did the labor so saved some money. Expect $4k with labor. I would say still worth it. Because you can’t go find this Camry for $4k that doesn’t have any of these issues. Or any car you buy for $4k will not have issue. My $2k was well spent in my opinion as this car will run again for another 100k miles with just a oil change, gas, breaks and tires.

To me, there are few things more satisfying than a high mileage vehicle. It speaks volumes about the owner(s). Because no matter how legendary a make or model is with regards to reliability and/or longevity, it means little if the owner(s) aren’t conscientious about maintenance. I bought my 2018 Honda Civic EXT new on June 18 2018. It’s a 1.5 liter, turbo, GDI, CVT. Now I hear from many “experts” that i bought the worst combination of engine and transmission for reliability and longevity. Well, I’m going to put that sentiment to the test. After 4 1/2 years and 129,500 trouble free miles averaging 34.1 mpg I have little to complain about. With exceptional maintenance, my goal is to hit 300,000 miles without repair to the engine, turbo, or CVT. The key for me is maintenance, early and often.

My 2011 chevy camaro v6 Rs, bought it new in 2010 now just hit 176k miles. Timing chain $2.5k at 120k miles, both catalytic converter‘s $1.8k at 100k miles. Same struts on-need to replace soon. Passenger airbag seat sensor still out which is a $800 Chevy scam that hit many camaro owners. But the car still running

Yeah... I drive a 2011 Toyota Auris hybrid. Once a year a oil change, some tyres or wind shield wipers, and once spark new plugs ...... and that's it ! Asked myself why people are driving crappy cars and not Toyota's. 🤣

Hey Nate, I have a 2010 version of the exact same car, 2.5 L, and I’m wondering what to do so I can make it last as long as yours did. It’s an amazing shape, I live in Canada though, so we use kilometers, but it only has 130,000 km barely even broken in, ha ha, but I’m wondering everything you’ve ever done to your card to make it run so well and long please let me know, also if you know why these older Toyota engine make a cold start rattle could you please let me know how to fix that. I know it’s normal, but I just would like to make it go away. .

That rust is strange. I used to work at a Toyota dealership and never once saw rust in those areas. It was actually very rare to see rust on the body of any Toyota. They have had lots of issues with frame rust on the Trucks. The 2007-2009 Camry did have oil burning issues, but that was fixed by 2011. I do wonder if your engine might be having the same issue. For what it is worth, the oil burning issue was just the oil control rings on the pistons getting siezed in place by carbon build up. Some people fixed the issue themselves by pouring a small amount of carbon cleaner into the cylinder through the spark plug hole, let the cleaner sit over night. You would want to change the oil after doing this. Might be worth trying, as this is easy and cheap to do.
