I've never had any of these issues and I've had two of them. I'v also had nothing but the best response from BMW with any issues I've ever had. This is my 6th BMW, wouldn't have any other bike

Nice the yellow color. My fuel strip works fine. Your dealer sells you a nonsens story. Furthermore the motor is great to drive. Love it.

Revisiting this video having owned my 2010 for 5 years. My fuel strip and TPMS work perfectly. I guess I have been lucky. Almost 16K miles and no dealer visits. Only problem was a leaky valve cover gasket which I fixed myself. Now seriously looking at a Sargent seat. Thanks!

I had the same issue with the fuel strip. I took the bike to the vendor and they fixed so is working fine now.

Early F650GS twins had a problem with the fuel strip and the leaky valve cover gasket but these problems got fixed by the dealer (here in Austria) and after that they are really reliable. One thing I did on mine was changing the spark plugs to iridium spark plugs and now even the vibrations at higher speeds are gone. I'm very happy with mine!

@@mambonumberfive2206 In case you're unsure if it has been done on your bike you can ask at a BMW workshop, they have the information on their computer. That's what I did.

@@mambonumberfive2206 Gerne! Ich habe meine Maschine vor 2 Jahren gebraucht gekauft und zur jährlichen Inspektion in die BMW Werkstatt gebracht. Dort hab ich am Schalter nach der BMW-Werkstatthistorie gefragt. Das war dann eben bei 1000km der Füllstandsgeber, bei 6000km Kettenritzel + Kette und bei 11600km Zylinderkopfhaube abdichten + neue Ventildeckeldichtung. Laut Internetforen waren das Garantiearbeiten bis auf die Kette. Ich denke, du wirst die Auskunft auch kostenlos telefonisch erhalten, wenn du ihnen die Fahrgestellnummer nennst.

I was interested in getting my first BMW. I’m rethinking that after watching this video. Sounds like BMW is German for Harley Davidson.

Great review. Still enjoyed it watching it in 2018. Sounds like you got a lemon. But good on you calling out terrible customer service. The nimble 2-cylinder F650GS has been the motorcycle of choice for Dutch city centre police, excellent for old bumpy canal roads and small allies in medieval cities like Amsterdam and Utrecht...

yikes, the first 40 seconds of this video is exactly why most ppl shy away from BMW. I have owned older ones (1997 F650gs, 1999 R1200C) and they were bullet proof but also super analog. Loved them both but i ended up buying a new 2023 Honda CB500X cuz hondas are just no fuss bikes like my ealery 2000 HD sportys. I embrace tech but when it comes to bikes/cars the more analog the better! glad you got the bike sorted out. seems too finicky for my liking

I love my 2010 - but the 2012 yellow/black makes me shockingly jealous. Delighted to hear that you're happy with it now, having watched your initial review. Sounds like Victory BMW are a roving group of chodes.

I never understood keeping guns in a lockbox... If you ever need it, you likely won't have the time to be scrambling for your box. I keep it on me or not at all. To each their own, I guess.

Is that bike water cooled, or air/oil cooled? I didnt see the radiator. Me and my family ride Hondas, but my dad says his next bike will be a BMW. Also whats your pick in an EDC handgun? ( I work for a gunshop here in Tennessee)

I was thinking exactly that, however it is sad to know that the drug trade has such far reaching impact on peoples lives. Illicit drugs are so destructive, even pot can have devastating effects on people. Its sad really.

Exactly! I tend to have a short memory, thank god people post these video to remind not to purchase! I have the same issue with Ducati, almost bought a monster, also has endless electrical issues!

Well, I think that some people but lemons or bad years of BMW bikes or bad models and just assume there all bad, not saying they are all good.

I have a 2012 purchased about two years ago, with only 1100 miles, from the original owner. You mention the "fuel strip". Mine has no fuel strip, just a low fuel light. Puzzled. Also, tire pressure monitor system. Mine has neither.

Fuel strip is the "float" in the tank, but IIRC mine had a gauge as well. Must be optioned differently! Thanks for watching!

I ended up paying for a new one from BMW...they will keep failing every few years from what I understand, sold the bike because it was so bad. Thanks for watching!

That's a cool box on the rear that you use for your guns. What make of box is that and where did you get it?

redonKiLaus that’s so cool. A question, in TN, gun can legally be put in the trunk of a car parked on campus, and owner of the gun doesn’t need to have a carry permit to do that. So, in your case, or possibly my case in the future, will this law also apply to motorcycle, if I put my gun in my motorcycle hard case legally and park my bike on campus?

It is water cooled, the radiator is tucked up in the front faring behind the wheel. My EDC gun is either a Colt Mustang .380 or a Colt 1911A1 on long trips. BMW's component quality is great, but tell your dad to be prepared for essentially no warranty coverage whatsoever.

Oh ok, thanks ill make sure and tell him. Both good choices on the carry guns. Your mustang .380 is it the older version (all stainless) or is it new (aluminum frame)?
