The Boss 302 is a car that is extremely special to me, it was the first car that I was able to buy myself! Sadly I ended up making the choice of selling my Boss 302 Laguna Seca and there are many times where I regret that decision. Luckily my friend let me drive his Boss and film a review about it, I hope you can tell how crazy excited I was about this! Let me know what you think about this awesome Mustang!

Add a side note. Boss has the 302 roadrunner. GT has the 302 coyote. GT350 has the voodoo. Out of all three, roadrunner can take a beating and can boosts it crazy unlike others. Kinda like the old Supera. Boss 302 will be highly sought after later because of the power it can hold. Just my 2 cents worth.

Just brought a 2012 with 21,000 miles. I absolutely love the thing. I give a flying fig about the plastic interior. It's rare, fast, handles great, and can handle boost like a beast. I'm leaning towards procharger f-1 because I want to keep my intake on and a hellion twin turbo kit is not worth the money cause I'm not looking to make 900-1000hp. Laguna Seca video was instrumental because i was set on a gt500.

This car was a great value the day it dropped. 40k brand new for such an iconic car which is built for the track. I wish they made rare cars at this price still. Now every rare car is like 60k or more

Also i 100% agree about prefering this over a new gt. New gt is soft and refined and everybody has one. These are raw and engaging and 100000000 times more special and unique than a gt will ever be. But in terms of numbers the boss competes with new gts in acceleration and handling despite being nearly 10 years old. They are amazing. One of the best mustangs ever made. It isnt always about the most possible power...these cars move out and feel GREAT and are better balanced overall vs a 13-14 gt500 for example. Love em

My favourite looking one is still the regular GT. And in terms of generation this one and the 2005 model. Although I still like the 2015 model, too. But if I had the chance of driving any of these IRL I wouldn't mind which one it is. :D

Nice review. I’ll pick Boss 302 over GT350. With Boss you can do a lot more to get more HP vs GT350. Lol, 30k….not anymore. Inflation kicking in. More like 40-50k now.

You’re right about making good HP, the roadrunner engine handles boost like a champ. You’re even more right about these god awful prices. I was trying to buy one here just this last month and even one with 40k miles is going for $40k. 10 years old and it’s the same price as the day it was on the lot brand new. I refuse to pay this used car markup and Fd up inflation. Guess I’m stuck with my 12’GT for a while.

can't afford one but test drove a 2012 , don't really know what the wussies want in a car or maybe it isn'r hard to please me but I loved it shiftedgreat loved the reverse lock out, only thing was keeping the back end planted when shifted , Imust learn to ease on the throttle , hahahaha and maybe stickier tires would help , but hey...........if could afforg it, I loved it

I think its funny how hes like "if you didnt know i used to own one of these" (he owned it a year before this if that lol) you can tell hes young he says used to about stuff that happened a year ago like i do things that happened 8-10 years ago (and im only 36). Lol. Also you arent supposed to drive with hands at 9 and 3...it used to be 10 and 2 when i started driving but due to all the airbags in modern steering wheels they since changed it to 8 and 4. So drivin that way the wheel shouldn't be an issue lol. Just throwing that out there Man these cars are bad ass i am getting one next year. Ive seen them in the mid 20s for nice ones.

I would avoid one of these because of their transmission. He even says how there have been alot of problems. Even til this day ford is still selling the same transmission in their newer cars. I heard they are determining whether or not to start a lawsuit with ford because of all the complaints and ford has still not addressed or made a change to the issue. I'm like most people I dont have money for a new transmission 😅

ParasiticScumbag D well honestly they’re pretty reliable like I’ve seen some with over 100,000 miles that are in good condition it all depends on how well it was taken care of but then again remember about the manual transmission issues with these cars

@@brysonc3159 the trans is pretty good the clutch is what costs lockout at high rpm and the remote shifter also makes for sloppy shifting. You get an mgw race spec in that thing, put the secret cocktail ben calimer suggests in it for trans fluid and throw in a twin disc and your problems are gone. This has always been the issue but people mistakingly blame it on the trans itself which is really quite robust holding up in even high hp forced induction applications making far more than their rated for on torque.

I can 100% say that 56k boss 302 will last longer than your 6.2 Camaro. I’ve had my 5.0 go thru 112k miles and still drives like new. These motors are reliable considering they are big ole v8s and the 302 are even better basically forged internals and are ready for any type of boost

Gearbox is shit but you can swap it with tr6060(t56 magnum). Adjustable suspension does not mean adaptive suspension :)

Low mile bosses can be had a few grand cheaper on average than low mile 11-12 gt500s...similar prices to 07-09 gt500s and the 11-12 gt500 has the same alcantera steering wheel that the boss has. These handle better than gt500s and compared to 11-12 gt500s theyre not much slower in a straight line stock for stock. Ive seen those gt500s go mid 11s stock on a tire bosses have gone 11.8 at 117 stock on drag radials even trap speed isnt much less as the gt500s trap 118-119 at best from that year its really much closer than people realize and power handling wise theyre about the same edge to the boss because they make less less torque allowing them to stay together easier at 800 rwhp because itll have 600 something torque instead of 800 like the gt500 would at that power level. I love the torque the gt500 has but the higher powerband and lower torque makes a boss easier to stay together and to hook up. I was cross shopping both these cars but i decided on the boss because its a few grand cheaper on average for low mile examples, they handle better and theyre much more rare. I think theyre both bad ass but im goin with the boss. I am gonna do an na build first and may keep it that way but i always have the option for boost since they got stout internals. Love the boss i like the features 13s come with but kinda prefer the 2012 look. So minacing this one is bad ass
