The Rock School and the Haverford School have a student exchange for a day twice a year. This video features part I of our exchange when the Haverford School boys learn what it takes to be a ballet dancer.

While this looks stupid there's actually a hidden method here. What this school is most likely hoping for is that at least one of the boys was intrigued by dance and will take classes. This was exactly how I got involved with ballet.

I love that the boy in the centre at 2:06 is focused and doesn’t take his eyes off her once! My favourite part of “male athletes try ballet” videos is when they don’t goof off and actually respect what they’re doing.

Luis Wilhite Probably because there is a perception that ballet doesn't really require much skill and that "anyone can do it" in reality it's a grueling "sport" that requires 6-8 hours of practice every day, with no "off season" and the use of muscles almost no other profession demands of the human body

Luis Wilhite because we know that some have troubles and we like to see them suffer 😆😆

2:07 how can they stand on there tows like that I tried doing that a lot and it hurts so much
@morgancloutier33207 жыл бұрын
Carissa Romero were not standing on the knuckles of our feet. We are actually on the very tops of the toes. We have the pointe shoes, which gives some support for our feet and we also use a pad that covers our toes to help it not hurt so bad.

Morgan Cloutier I know I forgot what they were called
@mckalldenney90036 жыл бұрын
Carissa Romero we wear special shoes called Pointe shoes. Ballerinas have years of training before they are able to use/wear them and " Dance on their toes " I would not recommend trying it bc you could hurt your toes/ankles.
@rachaelrice41886 жыл бұрын

Their arms are a bit droopy and aren't shaped. Their timing is incorrect too.
@midnightrally3575 жыл бұрын
I assume they haven't taken hardly any ballet, and if they had it didn't show. It was also a rather large class with many beginners so correcting everything would be pretty tedious and take up too much time. It was most likely a one off thing used to maybe get a boy into ballet or to build strength if they're on a sports team. I do not understand why you have such high expectations for their technique I suppose.

@@midnightrally357 I meant the actual ballerinas.
