in this Video I help my friend to replace the Battery on his 2014 Ford focus
Tools needed:
10mm socket and wrench
Patience, lots of it

Yeah no thanks. I wish I would have thought about things like replacing battery and cabin filter before I bought this car. What were the engineers thinking!?

Seriously! The battery should be easily replaceable considering how it tends to fail when temperatures are dangerously low.

Thanks for your video which I watched with several others on the subject. Didn't fancy taking out the air box so did it your way. Freezing cold day but managed to get it out on my own with about as much difficulty as you had and have the scars on my hands to prove it! What a lousy piece of design!

Glad i was able to help, I didn't want to take airbox out so I went that route instead.

To do this job, 2 screws come off , 2 are loosened. I battery is tilted upwards and pulled out on and angle. Its heavy but simple to do in 10 mins , max.

removel and install helps if you take the air box out

Yea if you take the air box out which pulls out in like 2 min,then you can take the front panel off the battery box. Then it slides right out the front no problem and doesn’t require two grown men fighting to get out a battery. Work smarter not harder. The engineers designed it to slide out the front not come out the top where you have no room because of the cowl.

Este video realmente me sirvió para cambiar la batería. Sólo un consejo: antes de inclinar la batería para sacarla (3:45), recomiendo pasar una correa, cinturón o algo parecido alrededor de la batería, para cuando se encuentre en esa posición inclinada tirar de la correa hacia afuera y sacar la batería sin meter las manos.

What a pain. Other videos show taking the air box off. I'd rather try this way.

Didn't want to fiddle with the air box in the winter. Anyway I saw somewhere else that it needs battery adaptation. Look into that too before replacing the battery.

positive cable always goes back on first
