Newer Jeep owners please watch. I recognized this problem while disconnecting the air bag system on a 2009 grand cherokee . A quick Google search showed many owners out there wondering why their air bag light was on after unknowingly removing the fuse as directed on the fuse box. Thanks for watching!

Mate you are a bloody legend, my airbay light come on in my aussie RHD jeep grand cherokee 2009, I had blown a park light fuse from towing a trailer so I used one of those so called spare fuses. I had been quoted $140 for the jeep shop to scan it for codes. Thank you very much

Thank you! I was looking for a little plastic fuse puller tool to replace a 20A fuse. I pulled that little yellow plug with the "spare" fuses, thinking this utility vehicle had that little tool (obviously not). Then, I proceeded to replace the "spares" but didn't push it all the way in. The airbag light came on the next day (because my wife didn't drive it until then). I spent 15 minutes checking all the harnesses and connectors and then googled and found your video. I checked the "spares", pligged them all the way in. Like magic. No more warning light. Thank you.

Thanks for this video. I was troubleshooting a tail-light out, and found its broken 10A fuse. Found some "Spares" in there - I thought it would be to good to be true that there were some handy spares... and then aha airbag light comes on. Found this video and it all makes sense. Thankyou. I'll get more spares from the shop tomorrow to fix this right up. Pretty dangerous really. Top find. Thanks.

Great video.. my airbag light came on Sunday and went off the next day when I took it to the dealership. They said all they could see was something wrong with the seatbelt buckle staying in an "open" position like something was jamming it. Tomorrow I will check all my fuses especially those 2.

I just bought a 2010 Jeep Patriot & the 4WD! light was on, so no 4WD. The fuse was missing, so I assume the original owner needed a 15amp fuse for the Power Plug so the person could charge their iPhone & figured I'll just use the 4WD, since depending on how & where you drive, 4WD doesn't always have to be used. I had a Kia that was so good in the snow that I never used the 4WD on it. With them, the FWD works pretty good, so with that being said, I can see robbing that Fuse. I'll look up the Airbag for the vehicle to see if it's also a fuse issue. Thanks for uploading the video. It helps get people to think...

Life saver. Possibly quite literally! 2007 Grand Cherokee airbag light on. No communication with ORC. After checking the ORC connections and earth, found this video and found the fuse had been pulled!

Thanks for that info, I pull them out and forgot to put them back in, and the air bag light went on, and I checked all fuses and they were ok, and while I was watching this video, put them back in, an the air bag light went off, thanks again for that info 👍🏼.

thanks man you save me from an expensive trip to the mechanic. i did not use them but they were not seated all the way pulled them applied some electrical grease and now my light is off. great informative video

Check the bottom far right corner they're labeled for dodge and jeep... in a jeep set up its two 10s in a dodge it's a spare

It's the same on my 2004 Grand Cherokee only the fuse box is under the dash.

I own a pre-production 2015 Dodge Challenger, and it has three of the fuses mislabeled on the inside of the lid, too. Not airbag fuses, but three of them together. What I've seen on the actual 2015 models that I've looked at, there is a ,card that was printed and stuck onto the underside of the cover to correct that error. I wonder if this slipped out, and was supposed to be fixed by the dealerships, and some of them didn't bother.

I have a 2008 wrangler and I think they have a similar issue. The two locations that SAY is used for airbags have a big yellow insert. You can pull it up and it's empty. My air bag light has been coming on ever since I checked a bunch of fuses for an unrelated issue. I assumed I messed up the airbag fuse. However I have no idea which slots are for air bag as it appears to be labeled incorrectly

Jeep needs do something about this & clean up their act. How many people brought their jeep to dealerships & got charged $500 for fuse lol. Thank you Long Island auto

I have 2004 Durango and same fusebox and that is a spare for me. Airbag fuses in inside fusebox. Fuse panel must be universal

Just had a customers Jeep in with the air bag light on and no radio display. Found one of the fuses in this holder missing. Fixed both.

its the same thing in my 04 WJ i saw the same thing in my 2010wk when i tried replacing a fuse saw it. air bag light came on put the fuse back in, checked to see if my Wj had a spare and sure enough it was there. Im guessing it a spare fuse untill you can get to a parts store to buy another fuse?

Problem seems to be the mass manufacture of the standard fuse box lid. Just ignore lid info I guess and go by a better source as you did.

My passenger seat has the yellow plug in under neath but somehow who ever owned the car before must’ve broke the metal spokes inside the clip so some of them are broke inside so idk what to do it stays off for a little if I plug it in and out but it keeps coming back on dont understand how someone could break those. Are you saying I could use this as a spare ?

Dude you are the man! Glad I found you ! I pulled the fuse out to fix my lighter🤣 cause it said spare 😬 Another thing on my commander is upstream pass o2 sensor 600.00 for a mechanic to change you can’t get to the plug😡 I got so mad I couldn’t unclip it I cut and soldered them 🤣 they couldn’t leave 2 inches of xtra wire! Brought my jeep to the dealership to get my oil pan replaced. Got it back and the airbag light was on. I was like “wtf”. See this video and both of the fuses are not even there to begin with. Don’t know if they pulled them on accident or something but they weren’t even in the slots lol

Lots of things. Loose / broken plug (yellow under both front seats). Something jammed in seat belt buckle (console side). Lots of opportunities in the massive messes called power modules. And so on and so forth. Good luck. Garages can send their kids to college after fixing this problem.

Airbags are legal because they save thousands of lives each year. With few exceptions, you're much more likely to be killed or injured without an airbag than you are with one.

The passenger seat airbag is usually controlled by a air bag switch or they might call it an occupancy switch. It senses weight applied to the seat usually 60lbs. If a adult is sitting in the seat and the light is still "de-activated" you need to get it checked out by a qualified tech or dealer. very specific ways to test restraint systems such as NO voltage drop test, no power probes ect. Just by toughing the wrong wire there is a chance the bags will deploy. Im looking out for the safety of you and the car. If you are supper confident, shut the whole system down and preform an ohm/resistance check across the seat switch. Again proceed with CAUTION!

Just disconnect the ground on the battery when working on a vehicle don’t have to pull fuses or unplug your air bags
