I've got a 2013 with 5.0 as well. 174,000 miles daily driver, purchased new. No major repairs, just routine maintenance. Have used this truck to pull horse trailer, hay wagons and used as my hunting rig while hunting in Wyoming. Best truck I've ever owned!!!

I will agree with that it definitely has to be one of the best trucks I’ve ever owned it’s basically a strong is the old 7.3 Diesel trucks With most of the modern amenities and not so much technology that everything breaks it was probably the best F150 ever made

5.0L with 102k miles: -transmission molded lead frame. (have the dealer replace this for simplicity or a trusted shop, check if there is a recall, dealer MAY do for free) -transfer case interior bearings failed when the 4x4 actuator stuck in a neutral position. (replace t-case with new or used - I bought a few from wrecked trucks as spares, entire t-case) -brake calipers stick warping rotors. (*Use 3M silicone paste OR Ceramlub 2800 on the slide guide pins only!*) -gas filler door spring pops out. (screw in a small screw in bottom of hinge or replace hinge mechanism with an aluminum/metal version from amazon) - steering column joints seize. (replace with new or lubricate very well- I used fluid film) -undercarriage body holes covered with TAPE from factory. Causes rust. Most likely they are peeled off by now. (*cover them with rubber sheet metal rubber plugs!*) -front wheel alignment never holds. (buy camber bolt shim kit) -Hard long starts after filling tank with gas. (replace evap valve on throttle body/intake/manifold) -rear end bump when stopping. (grease inside driveshaft where it slides into the transfer case)

Good to hear. I have the XLT American model with 198,000 miles. I had a few issues. The big issue it has is the phaser & timing chain change. I tried to get it done, but my mechanic was suggested that I did not need to spend that much money. He changed a a couple of coils with their spark plugs and the engine light turned off, and hasn't turned on in a year. I'm expecting to turn on soon, because when the phasers go bad, it won't be long and the engine light will come back on. I might have to take it to the dealership to get that done. But, my truck runs like new still-- very smooth for the mileage.

@@GJ-is6sv Firstly, you should change your air filter something more like 10-15k miles not 30k. I use WIX filters every 5k or so just because it takes 5 seconds and they are cheap. Secondary, with your generation F150 you NEED to look into the Transmission Cooler Lines Quick Disconnects. FordTechMakuloco here on KZfaq made a video on them. This is not an if, it is a when. When they snap your transmission overheats and gets destroyed almost immediately as you lose all fluid. Thank me later
