Don’t let this happen to you. We were fortunate to only have an AC line get damaged and it happened close to our home. A 3/8’s swivel head ratchet comes in super handy for this job! You will need an 8mm socket for the 3 bolts on the tensioner. Thank you guys for watching!

My Guy!! Thanks 1000%. This literally just happened to me As I'm sending this comment. The belt is brand new,, so the mechanic who changed the Alternator did not check to see if that Pulley was giving out. My truck is at 200,000+ miles. Much Appreciated!

Can the tensioner be removed without removing the fender liner. Can you get to all 3 bolts from the top? Thanks for the video. Well done!

Good luck. U will be taking off a coolant hose he doesn't mention and have fun w that front bolt. I hope u have lil baby hands I just did this on my wife's 13 explorer. Watta pain in the dick. It's no where as easy as he's sayin. Ull soon see

Hey bro do you think it would make it a lot easier if i fed the belt around the crank pulley first and pull the tensioner then feed it around the alternator pulley from the top ? Dont have an extra hand lol

im having an intermittent clicking sound from the front of engine sometimes.... sorta sounds like dry leaves in the fan.. could the tensioner be making that sound ?

Turn your fans on to high and trigger your A/C button on and off. Listen to see if it makes that sound when a/c is triggered on vs off. Could be your AC compressor starting to go out, ours did the same before we got rid of the car.

@@MJAltairy its only happened in the mornings.. haven't heard it while ac is on. but i am familiar with the ac click sound. by intermittent i mean it only happens once in a while. but when it's clicking its like a second or two between clicks. also i do have a bad evap purge valve showing code p1450. could that valve click like that ?

When I called to get a belt they told me the same engine comes with 2 different alternators and which belt I buy depends on which alternator I have….but I can’t figure out how to tell which alternator I have….does anyone else know????

My guess is that you probably have the “less powerful” alternator option if there’s a way you can look up those options. I say this because the more powerful alternator is probably spec’d for the police interceptor models of these vehicles.
