Best video explaining step by step, I was a little worried while the keys were programming but pairing a second key when u only have one work just as yours did. And the remote start feature also worked great. Thank you for helping me save money from not having to go to dealership

I got a $100 kit on Amazon with 2 keys and the antenna cable and box. I already had 2 keys, but one wasn't programmed. Forscan said I had 2 stored programmed keys, though. I was able to program both new keys and the 2nd unprogrammed key I already had for a total of 5 stored keys. I think the dealer gave me one wrong key when I bought the truck. Anyway, I followed your video for the procedure. thanks!

100% worked. 2014 Ford Explorer. Saved myself a lot of cash. I didnt delete all the keys. Simply added a new one using basically the same steps as you. Only thing that didnt work were the buttons on the keyfob. I'll have to do some more research for those, but hey, at least I have two (mostly) working keys now! Edit: Buttons on the fob are programmed now. Just took a quick Google search, a few turns of the key in the ignition and it was good go.

How did you get the buttons programmed? I bought my truck used and it only had one key. But the buttons on the key didn't work. I had the dealer get me a new key, and they programmed it. But the buttons on it don't work either. Now, I'm considering getting the remote start key. But I don't want to get one and the buttons not work.

Is there a way to reprogram my second key to be recognised by immobilizer? Key was working fine but i tried to take radio out by bit of force and the key stopped working. I have other key that only locks car manualy. And the button on starting key doesnt work.

I was on the forms and they are saying to change the Value to 0148 from 0047 ? thats why I was asking about the turn off maybe that has something to do with it not sure .

Thank you for the video. You mentioned programing the buttons on the fob is another process and it seemed you got lucky and it got programmed at the same time. I did program a 2nd key and it starts the truck but non of the buttons work. Any idea how to program the buttons on the fob?

it would be interesting to know what would happen if one were to hold the key that works very close to the ignition switch while the new (unprogrammed key) was used to turn the ignition lock. it's my understanding that a programmed key with a good battery generates a very, very short distance WIFI type radio wave pulse to the chip in the lock mechanism in the steering column that is used by the ignition computer to verify that a valid key has been used. not sure if the whole verification hardware/software also knows if the key sending the WIFI verification signal and the key that's physically in the ignition are the same key. it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't.

That's not a secret - the car will start. A lot of people simply take the fob from the working key, hide it behind the plastic on the steering column and then they can use even metal key to start the vehicle.

I just got my 2013 F150 with ONE key. I'm trying to reset this one key so that I can deactivate volume max control for the stereo system. I tried to follow the manual, but I am unable to follow those instructions because they are clearly for a different year model. Hmm. I go to Information on the Steering wheel and select MyKey and tells me it's 1 Admin Key. But that is as far as I get. What am I not understanding. Thanks mate.

Sorry if i didnt catch this in the video. I have only one key for my 11 f150XLT, can i program another without having 2 keys or going to the dealer? I have a remote start kit with 2 keys on the way. Thanks
