Thanks for the video. It really helped me. Great advice to replace stabilizer links at the same time as mine were rusted solid and couldn't be saved. I went with TRQ strut assemblies and Moog greaseable stabilizer links.

Thanks for the video Joe - Could you share the replacement part numbers or brand/source that you went with - specifically the control link rod assembly.

These are MOOG K750297 sway bar links. I get them at rockauto.com

Thanks for the video. I just had my front struts on my 2014 CRV replaced with Monroe's. There is a rumbling noise coming from the left strut while driving at low speeds in the parking lot. I think it's coming from the top of the strut tower. Any idea what the cause could be?

Maybe a bad strut mount? Or maybe they didn’t tighten the mount properly?

Great.....so what did you torque the steering knuckle mount hardware to????

I used “#2” setting on 1/2” impact gun on the strut mount bolts. Sorry it’s not very scientific.

Very helpful. I wonder if someone there in the US knows the answer to this question. I live in the UK and have a 2014 CR-V, and with my previous Lexus I used to buy parts from Rockauto, does anyone know if parts will be the same for UK Hondas and US ones. The reason I ask is because you have different engines, we have the 2litre and the 2.2 diesel, but I'm assuming most other parts are the same? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think that Rockauto has selections to help with that. I think they will show parts for vehicles in different countries. Another way for you to cross check this would be to find the correct UK part numbers from another source and cross check those with the numbers Rockauto has available.

@@JoesCarSmartsNY Thanks for taking the time, and I'm not sure why I didn't think of cross checking part numbers!

Hi Joe, I noticed you replaced KYB absorber without replacing strut mount. Many How is holding to date. My 2012 Honda CRV shocks are leaking. Is it necessary to strut mounts and bearings. Many bad reviews on KYB quick struts especially the strut mounts . Would appreciate your feedback. Thank you. Willie

That’s a good question. I still haven’t changed the top mount. And so far I’m happy with the results.

Same as that of type 3 (2007-2012)?

I think the setup is the same or very similar. I also did this on a 2011, but not on video.

There is a sway bar link that connects from the strut body to the sway bar. The sway bar end is down low. If you live in the rust belt it will be difficult or impossible to unbolt it. So I usually use a cutoff wheel to cut the stud that goes through the sway bar. The sway bar link comes free from the sway bar at that point. It’s tricky and you have to be careful to not cut the sway bar in the process.

Couldn't hear a thing you were saying in the video. Buy a wireless mike.
