G63 wins in his opinion, he clearly said Range Rover is better vehicle overall, with more tech, slightly better offroad capabilities, more comfortable. But he likes the G63 more and that's why he said it, it feels better to him, UNDERSTAND? Not so confusing, right? This head 2 head was really objective and good, guy said everything nicely for both cars, and described them accurately, pointed out pros and cons of both. What are you all bitching about?

Because he was surprised on 8:35 cos Range did it have NOTHING to do with how good a car performs, watch the video, he says on several parts where, how and why is Range better.

Own both. G is only worth it if you go off-road often and seldom use it as a leisure vehicle . RR is worth every penny for it can be used as an everyday car which is comfortable, S-class level, destroys off-road with street all-season tires, huge space inside with 5 proper seats and a large boot, amazing Meridian system(29 speakers), panoramic glass roof, surround camera, air suspension, whereas G doesn't offer any of these perks. G is all about the looks, vibe, style and off-road capability. You'd be surprised when you go off-road just using normal traction, it goes beyond what many other off-roaders can do only with off-road aids.

Yeah a w463 g63 is not 40k and if it is, run away, should be around 65-70k. And a 2013 range rover should be about 15k, because they are complete garbage.

I have a Land Rover LR4. It is a body on frame like the Merc and it should have been tested as well. It is a brute of a vehicle that will go anywhere. It is has plenty of room for 7 passengers and it is priced way below either one. If you price the LR4 you will find the 'most' expensive version to be BELOW $75,000. It has air ride just like the Range Rover and the underpinnings are just like it. The best feature is that it has 'Terrain Response'. The LR4 is just has a very distinct styling and does not 'follow' the crowd.

They need to "brute-up" the Range Rover. Seeing the older ones in this video make me miss them even more. The new one blends too much with normal crossovers. Not saying I don't like it, it's just that it has began to lose its charm. The G-Wagon still has the charm.

+Liberty Schulz We still get the Defender in SA, very true if you want a capable ladder frame SUV, you go Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rover Defender or a Mercedes Benz Gelanderwagen or the Jeep Wrangler + Alex Simmons, that would be serious regression to be honest. Ranger Rover was always luxury and off-road combined, do not confuse it with a Land Rover Defender which was designed for the military not the English countryside

Daniel Raynor .....rubbish, at least Range Rovers doesn't flip over if you try to avoid a cat, how Mercedes kept the G Wagon flipping quiet from the world is amazing, just like the cheating underhand VW German car manufacturers doing the same. Mercedes A CLASS also flipped when someone tried to avoid a moose doing 15mph, I would advise anyone driving a German SUV to wear crash helmets on entering them, you have been warned. If you don't believe me just Google ," English Radio1 DJ Nick Grimshaw £80,000 G WAGON in November 2015 flipped over at 15mph when he swerved to avoid a cat, there goes your fucking well made German Engineered MERCEDES.

Galendewagen is the only car that is comfortable on the Kins Road in Chelsea (UK), up Ben Nevis (Mountain in Scotland, Europe) and Lozonetz (Black Sea Coast somewhere in Bulgaria, Eastern Europe). It is so fantastically Stoic. The RR is ok outside a wine bar in al Kensington and that's about it.

The G Class has better approach and departure angle than the Range Rover. It has a better break-over angle than the Range Rover. It has better ground clearance than the Range Rover. It has far better axle articulation than the Range Rover. The G Class has 3 diff locks whereas the Range Rover makes do with a centre diff lock, plus individual wheel braking (making less power available). How is the Range Rover better off road?

Because G wag is like an old John Deere, whole lotta noise and not that much power from it, but modernized, meanwhile Range Rover is a story for itself. RR off road capability isn't coming from stuff on the paper (where's on G wag, it's got 3 locking diffs, it's got this, it's got that bla bla...), it's what's being all that. Similar to that are the new tractors, you've got one button which turns on the locking diff and you immediately put that 2000N/m torque to the ground.

the only thing mercedes g wagon is best than the land rover is the selling and re selling point personally i like military vehicles but i hate those damn lights on the G the thing i like the most is their look and the metal frame since i'm in love with metal frames in the front if land rover made a metal frame for their cars and instead of their curvy aspect put on a more vertical lined one it would sell much better. i dunno which one i would buy since they are both nice probably the land rover since i've been in love with them for years but i got to admit i love the g looks also that metal frame so badass but their technology is so damn idiotic overall i love land rover but G has character and i love that makes a statement no other car does.

If the new range rovers werent so damn ugly, they would easily be my SUV of choice. Range Rover styling peeked between 2010-2012. By the time ill be able to afford one, they will all be out of warranty and will be in the shop every three weeks. I would probably have to switch out every part with ones found in a chevy truck so it wont break on me. G wagons are junk in terms of reliabilty too but at least their value holds. Lets face it, you wont find 10 g-wagens lined up on a used lot in LA selling for $12,500 so that low credit ballers swoop them up to show off

It's a shame they don't get to drive them around for years. lol I'd love to hear about the newer Land Rovers and Range Rovers reliability-wise. That's the main reason I would get most other 4x4s over the Brits tbh. Their reputation are just horrible, and I wonder if it's actually still a fair reputation today. Obviously he can't really comment on that after driving the cars for a few days, but if I was to spend that much on a 4x4, reliability and reputations would make me go for the Mercedes every time.. I would never buy a car like those to drive around in town, so I don't really care about the luxury of the RR's interior or whatever. Oh, and the RR is just boring as hell to look at.. Just like they've always been. The Defenders look cool... The Range Rovers look.. Bleh.

***** Lies. Mercedes is the most reliable car brand manufactured in Europe. Only Toyota and Honda make more reliable cars but they appeal to a very different audience. You cannot judge a brand on other brands from its country. Mercedes beats anything British when it comes to reliability.

Tom Fletcher It was actually according to a British study. Audi did performed poorly. Mercedes was the absolute best in European cars. Porsche scored very well too, whereas all British brands performed poorly except for Jaguar which did OK.

Put the Range Rover and G wagon side by side and see who wins in the race track. You make absolutely NO sense. Range Rover may be at its "home" in Beverly Hills but do you see the amount of Mercedes cars around you? Every angle the camera gets I see another Mercedes. The only Range Rover I've seen is the one you are reviewing. Which is SHIT compared to the Benz. Review the video again, people! They are not track cars and you've probably had no experience with both cars, I have had 40 years of off road experience and driven both types many times, the Range Rover is far better, the G wagon is a nice toy but not a good off roader.

+ian maina Range Rovers depreciate so fast.. I'm checking on craigslist right now and a 1994 G Wagon is $40000 with 99000kms, where as a 2010 Range Rover supercharged costs the equivalent. I'd much rather have the G class.

The "offroad" course is like tarmac for these cars.There is no need to lock the diffs in the G or to put them in low range for that kind of stuff.Put them in the concrete pipe lines and rock obstacles and let the G do it's "thing".Let us see what the RR can do with all its sensors filled up with mud.You can't beat rigid axles and ladder frame in offroad.Of course it's the other way around when you hit the streets.

both cars are well equipped and well capable...The G wagon is an old school approach to off roading..look,and functionality..more mechanical with 3 locking diffs...The range rover has everything controlled by state of the art computer programmes.. it offers less human efforts,and you can go off road in a much refined and luxurious way,but if you want get noticed and want keep that special status and personality..then G Class is the ultimate,proper,functional,rugged,true SUV you can get...BUT EXPECT LESS COMFORT...

As much as i respect BOTH vehicles for its great history, I'd go for mercedes. I just don't have trust in RR. Over the past decade the reliability was just terrible.
