2013 Smart ForTwo Spark Plug Replacement

4 жыл бұрынThis video will demonstrate how to replace the Spark Plugs in a 2013 Smart ForTwo car. I am not a professional auto mechanic. Hopefully, this video will help someone like me who wants to work on their Smart Car.
The video should apply to any Smart ForTwo for model years 2008 to 2015.
Tools Needed:
* 10mm socket and ratchet
* 10mm wrench
* Pliers
* 5/8 inch spark plug socket and ratchet
Spark plug gap: 0.035 inches
Spark plug torque spec: 13 ft/lb

For your INFO-Talking about close quarters-Dropped the Coil Bolt on the last one-right side, Boy was I "PI$$ED!!!" and of course could not find. But "NO WORRIES" , went to Lowe's for a 6 mm Diameter thread, 2 cm long and a 10 mm head (The rep. did not care about the 10 mm head, but it came with one anyway-LOL) 5 bolts (Stainless Steel) for $1.18 with my military discount . Perfect Fit. Still saved a few $$$$-Thank You!!

The black cap is the on plug ignition coil

Hello have a question . I had a standard 16mm spark plug key , but even with the small extender I could manage to unscrew it . Size and length were ok . Would you mind to provide the diameter of the tool .. maybe mine is too large ...

My spark plug socket is 5/8 inches.

@@kenbecker1341 yes , but the external diameter . Because I do have 5/8 inches but seems not come to end , like the wall is not tiny enough to get to the end ...

Change one plug at a time if possible,then you can't mix the leads etc. And put a small amount of oil on the spark plug thread when refitting.

Making a how to video and referring to the ignition coil as a "Do-Hicky" doesn't instill alot of confidence...
