Not a roots type, it's a screw type. More efficient. The old 8-71's with paddles inside are a "roots' type.

It’s not centrifugal, it’s an improvement on the 8-71 series with “twisted” blower lobes.

I'm new to this type of stuff. Am I able to install this myself and drive it or do I gotto have it tuned as soon as I instal it.

You should get it tuned immediately. If you don’t know what you are doing then I wouldn’t suggest installing it yourself. You may accidentally cause detention which can cause serious damage to your engine.

Does this have the bypas valve that the magnuson 1900 kit that takes away the parasitic drain? If i worded that correctly

Dakota Valdes All PD blowers have a bypass.

Can't decide between getting this or a procharger for my 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. Both have ups and downs, If it was for my car, I'd say procharger purely for the sound alone lol. But a whipple seems more like a truck setup.

They claim stock engine and trans can handle it as long as you don't have any other power upgrades. I'd mostly be concerned about the u joints and rear axle

I’m sure if you drive the truck normally it has very little affect on stock motor and trans but if your constantly romping on it and trying to race it might have some negative affects.

The motor is forged can handle it all day, the trans need upgrade converter and should be good for 5-550whp no problem

Basically yes..... But you have to get the specific 6.2L kit because of the included tuning.

I saw $6,800 on the Whipple website for 2018 Silverado. Going to check with a performance shop to see if they can get it directly for cheaper!
