In late 2019, I was fortunate enough to special ordered a 2020 Lexus IS 350 FSPORT w/ rear-wheel drive... which I absolutely loved and was generally very happy with, until the redesigned/enhanced 21' model debuted. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to be able to (again) custom order the 21' version, this time with Dynamic Handling Package + rear-wheel drive, and replace the 2020 version following nearly a year of ownership. I must admit, EACH time that I drive my 21' IS, the more I love it! The feel is so natural, yet refined, yet communicative, and analog, compared to most modern cars... even within the Lexus lineup. I actually get excited to drive my car and get behind the wheel, and it is the perfect car of its type for my driving style, taste, and needs. There are faster cars, but as far as compact luxury sports sedans are concerned, this one is SUCH a delightful and authentic driver's car. These are underrated, and people don't know how to really appreciate them the way that they deserve to be appreciated, and were designed to be enjoyed.

I have a 2014 IS350awd executive edition :) had it for about 7 years. Awesome car, love looking at it as much as as driving it. No issues just normal wear and tear (battery, tires, brakes, oil change, sparkplugs). Planning to keep it for another 5 years then maybe buy the latest V6 of the same IS350 (no turbos or hybrid).

I own a 2014 IS350 F-Sport in Silver Metallic with Red/Burgandy interior. I love everything about the car except for the infotainment! I think the Lexus IS is still one of the better option to choose if you want a luxury sport sedan. I think the current IS is the best looking one by far (either that or the 2nd generation IS), but it is definitely getting a little bit long in the tooth in terms of the interior. Although even that interior still looks very nice, as Lexus really knows how to do interiors really well, compared to their other Japanese luxury car competitors. Lexus just needs to update the interior and maybe the transmission. The current 6-speed is not a horrible transmission, but definitely in need of a better transmission to help it feel faster and sportier.

I love mine; IS-250. I've had it stupidly up to 136 with a carful of friends. It was dawn, and I was leaving San Francisco for San Diego. Suddenly, we saw 6 cop cars racing in the other direction rapidly. I slowly accelerated to 136 with room to go until one of my friends whined ."I don't feel comfortable," so I gradually brought it back down to 77 and set the cruise. She was smooth as butter and still is. I'm hooked on Lexus as I've never had one problem with it, and I bought it brand new!

I owned a 2018 IS300 4 cyl for about a year and a half. It was a great little car. Only downsides are interior room and maintenance costs. It ran through a set of tires in about 15-20k miles since the wheels are staggered, turbo regulator valve was stuck open and replaced under warranty, 4 cyl calls for spark plugs every 40k miles, and water pump started failing around 65k miles. Traded it in since depreciation really started taking a hit and got a 2009 Acura TL. Definitely a different feel, but it’s sporty enough.

@@little123456788 I’m not sure if turbos models are more problematic. I have the 2018 Lexus IS 300 AWD ( V6) fsport and it comes with staggered wheels too. I haven’t had any problems with tread wears like the guy mentioned above. But I did replace DRIVE DRIVE belt at 40,000 miles which I thought was strange. The car has 49,000 miles now and I haven’t changed spark plugs. The dealer hasn’t recommended me to as yet. I have, however, performed brake fluid flush and battery replacement.

Had my 2014 white on red awd f sport just over 2 years now. One of the best cars I’ve owned as a daily driver. Sporty enough to not be boring with an amazing, reliable engine, and it gets sideways if you turn off the traction control in the snow. Only issues I’ve had is that my infotainment and sound went out so I’ll have to get that fixed /replaced. Otherwise I’m happy. I’m tempted to lease the new model, but I really want the IS500, so it’s better to just save for that.

It’s a shame they got rid of the Yamaha Sports Bike exhaust tips from the 2017-20 models. Instead, they replaced them with some ordinary looking round tips. Also there’s a big difference between the F SPORT and non F SPORT models for 2017-20. The seats, suspension and driving dynamics are so much better on F models. The car feels so much eager to go faster and more stable at speeds on corners. The non F Sport is too relaxed and it’s always trying to stay in the upper gears. I’d like to try the 2021 models for comparison:)

I do agree it has some issues I didn't like so I made it better by 1) Retrofitting the entire 2023 Lexus RCF Center Console 2) Added Wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto into the OEM Multimedia System 3) Retrofitted the Lexus RCF Big Brake Kit 4) Swapped out all lower Suspension arms to harsher Poly bushing + harsher LCA Bushing to correct its suspension/ lower its Wheel base a bit. 5) Added the Full LED Headlight Triple Beam/ Rear Turn Signals that Europe and Japan got. 6) Added the OEM F Sport Performance Axleback to give it a low growl but keep it OEM+ The difference is night and day compared to how it was stock and love driving it everyday, of course its extra money to add but I never plan to sell it and its been an easy car to maintain and take care of past 4 years of owning the car :)

Back in April of 2022 I was able to sell my 370z that was breaking down for a good price to get my 2014 IS 350 F-Sport. The 370z made me drive aggressively because of how fast it could go and how it can take corners. Although the Lexus wasn't as fast and agile as the 370z, it made me feel good even when driving at slow speed cause it drives so smoothly lmao. My grandmother approved of it as well, as she was worried of my 370z from making all of that road noise when I used to give her rides to places and when I first got my Lexus, she was in prayer position thanking God while the car sales guy was laughing his ass off 😂 I also want to mention that my monthly car insurance went down from $212 a month to $84 a month when I made the switch(I've been driving for around 10 years with a clean record besides 2 minor accidents towards the beginning of my driving years both which wasn't my fault)

I have MY2018 IS 300H F-Sport with AVS suspension, moonroof and ML sound & premium Nav. I still love this car even after 150k km. There is some magic that I can´t explain, robust interior, excellent sound system, in dark when I walk by to take out garbage it illuminates mirrors I give look on it. Build quality is awesome and everything works like charm even I got 220k km on ODO. I have big problem because they end selling it in EU after 2019, what to drive next, I don´t want ES or SUV, this is last RWD Lexus in market.. Maybe I go with Corolla because it´s all same to me after all :(. But I have still 100-200k km left to run. I have driven many MBs, Audis, BMWs but something is missing, German made cars are kind of a cold, too engineered and complex. I also hate touch screens. Lexus IS MMI is crappy, I learned to use it pretty good after all, but where Lexus beats all competitors are physical buttons, basic functions are separate and material quality is very nice. I bought it just before Covid-shit and interior is like new, materials are true quality, hot summers and very cold winters, no any rattles or squeeks. Many German made cars door panels are annoyingly loose in before 150k km. Greets from Finland!

@pHixiq
@pHixiq 5 ай бұрын
@@2002champ13 if you are looking at the IS line I definitely recommend getting the IS350. The IS200t and IS300 are basically the same. The 300 replaced the 200t. I would steer clear of the 250 as it’s very slow and dated. But if you are looking for just a good looking car and don’t care much about extra stuff then it’s not bad Those are the only Lexus in the IS line.

Considering IS or RC. While IS isn't as exciting as RC coupe - it is lighter and lsd was part of F-sport package, while on RC it was an option. Therefore, for RC you need to check additionally the option list or axle code. Kevin! I know you drove them both, is there a huge difference? Seems like despite being heavier RC is more engaging and has less safety intervention.

@Marcoshary
@Marcoshary Жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup I see. Although CBU , I wouldn't worry too much of all the maintenance is done properly and up to date. There's no record of any problem like that in IS models in my country. Also, the gasoline here(regular one) has higher percentage of ethanol, which helps not to formate the carbon. I heard opinions for long time owners as well, and if the maintenance is done regularly, there shouldn't be a problem. Regarding the power, that's something to think about, but I think it would be enough. Let's see. 😀 But thanks for replying. 😀
@chuckrambo4401
@chuckrambo4401 Жыл бұрын
Carbon buildup due to Direct Injection. Putting additives in the gas tank do nothing as the gas never hits the back of the valves. Shame they just keep doing it over and over and over. The IS350 has duel port injection so they are not affected by carbon buildup issues.
