This car really is a masterpiece of engineering. Nobody comments on the diesel like 28 mpgs but its quicker than the old model, rides better but handles better, loaded with sound deadening but 275 pounds lighter, lots of hot stamped high tensile steel. The teams assigned to the new Accord and this should be assigned to all future Acuras and Hondas.

This is the best setting and environment I have ever seen used in a car review. Absolutely beautiful and serene, a perfect match for such a beautiful and luxurious car. Great job!

Yes! Finally a review! I love this new mdx, it's less angular but that wasn't a bad thing either in the old model. The front hood is definitely more sculpted and all those sharp edges have been softened. Bravo Acura!

Found a Maroon 2014 MDX SH AWD w/Tech pkg @60k Ok NOW its time to buy one since its UNDER $20,000 still with all the Honda quality & ahead of its time technology saving 💰 me 30 grand Like my '07 Lexus ES350 thanks Acura for building quality that lasts years so I don't have to buy new

Just done a test drive of MDX at my local Acura dealership in NJ car is quite nice however it is shame that Acura decided not to offer some features for USA market for example for Canada and Europe markets Acura offering real wood inserts(ash tree from Spain looks fantastic), all around view camera system, heated steering, headlight washers And that is strange considering many competitors offering those options for free or at least for the money ? Fog lights is a dealer installed option for around $500 that is bad ...

Would have been helpful to see a demo for that "one touch walk in feature" for the rear seats. Also why not show the inside of that center console? Or open that hatch so we can see the space behind the 3rd row seat and with the 3rd row seat folded.

The last gen MDX looked really good in person. I definitely like the updates here and I'm very glad they didn't ditch the SH-AWD on this model like they did with the RDX. This MDX will sell like hot cakes for Acura.

I love the new MDX. I like the RDX also. I think Acura has done a great job on both of their SUV models. I'm more of a car guy and have my fingers crossed for a knock out revision of the TL/TSX next year. If they pull that off as well as they have with their utility vehicles, Acura will be quite successful.

I used to have an Acura Vigor years ago & I loved the Acura brand. Now, they're styling is not as competitive as Benz, BMW & Audi. They're stock & optional wheels don't come close to the other manufactures I mentioned. The interior dash does not look luxurious as the older model. Good reliability, probably fun to drive, but they need to step it up in those areas I mentioned.

I miss the exhaust myself it makes it look sportier I like the headlights, but what I found out about the exhaust Honda did away with the exhaust for seftey reason people were getting burnt from the exhaust pipes I have them on my Acura tl I never got burnt but I hope Acura brings out in BX with tail pipes

I highly doubt there would be just a 5 seater MDX. That is reserved for the RDX.

I like the front, but hate everything else. If you watch the 2007 MDX design video, Acura talks about focusing the design on sportiness and driver experience. Now it seems like they done a 360 and are focusing more on luxury plus family experience. They rounded out the MDX so much, it looks like the Lexus RX now.

not everyone needs a AWD version especially in the south. There is great demand for FWD in the southern part of the States.

It looks like performance and functionality is improved, but it now just looks like another soccer mom SUV... I don't know how anyone could confuse this MDX with the previous model.

I prefer the interior on the previous model which I own. There is quite a bit more wood trim on the older one. The 3.7 liter engine in the older one was a quite amazing of an engine I have no idea why they would take the hp down for 300 to 290 and say it is faster. I am also disappointed on the fact that they did not put a chrome exhaust note as they had on the previous model which looked very good. Really besides the head lights I really don't see a reason why they would change any thing else.

u can always fold the 3rd row seat for more cargo space... as far as lighter?? any lighter and the car won't drive as solid and stable. cutting weight by 275 lbs and being lightest in class is probably good enough. i don't see your point for eliminating 3rd row.

I agree that it is a big, "if", but I'm still rooting for them. I'm a Honda/Acura loyalist, so admittedly, I'm a bit biased towards them. I know they have the ability to build great cars. I hope all the stars line up for them for the new TLX. They really need it.

I agree. I see where they kept some of the old features and made them more modern But people are not going to mix up the old with the new, I think he needs glasses.

I like the Acura/Honda attitude these days "Yeah we don't need V8, we could make it faster with V6" or " We don't need RWD, we could do same thing with FWD" I like that

its better but still not the sexy style that other companies make now a days. I miss the Honda of the 90s BIG TIME as they were always hot as hell but the last 10 years have been pretty sad. Ill still sit back and see if I ever buy another Honda again. Sure hondas last but if its not sexy, then I go somewhere else.

I really like the previous model. My biggest disappointment was that they got rid of the dual exhausts. In my opinion, the current model looks more soccer mom, which isn't my style.

I wouldn't necessarily call Infiniti JX a competitor to MDX. JX focuses more on 3rd row room and less on performance. Even the 2013 MDX has better performance than JX. I really hope this 2014 MDX will be available with only 5 seats, so people who don't need those 2 toddler-seats can get a lighter/faster car with more cargo space.

Umm because a huge pecentage of the population lives where awd is not needed. Hell, I live in WI and we use snow tires, I would gladly save the entry price, extra maint, and mpg and get fwd.

28 miles per gallon is EXCELLENT for a gasoline powered midsize luxury utility vehicle. That's almost as good a diesel.

yeah I love the exhaust tips on my car they are very stylish and make a nice sound as well. There is to many curvy flowing lines on it that does make the car look very feminine. It's a real disappointment they did the RLX and the NSX so well and they made the MDX worse.

This is just a minor pet peeve of mine but Honda/Acura can NEVER do the right offset for their wheels. Offset is always too damn positive on their cars. I know the average consumer doesn't give a crap but it just simply irks me. Other than that, great car!

Lol...you're comparing a QX70S to the MDX? The QX70S is in a lower class. It's a 5 seater. Apple and oranges buddy. The MDX is no slouch either. It can pull 0-60 in mid 6s. Only 290HP and it can still pull this two ton SUV that quick.

are you seriously judging by rigidness? the porsche 911 is curvy as hell and looks feminine car yet highly aerodynamic and a real performance car, they made it for fuel efficiency and aerodynamics not to please your tastes

That's a big "If." Acura doesn't like to listen to people, hence the reason why the hung on to the stupid beak grill for so long despite sales plummeting for the TL. Acura needs to step their game up in the design department. Their cars are so boring. The new RLX looks so incredibly plain. They've been out for a while and I've only seen one on the road. If they want to compete with the big boys, they better not mess up the TLX.

I always wanted to love Acuras but man, no matter how I look at it, this MDX still looks like a Honda (CRV?), the interior in particular. Then again Acuras are usually priced a few k's below Lexus. Something had to give.

Went to see this car over the weekend and the interior was just flimsy and cheap not an acura hater I own a 2005 mdx and I was looking for a new SUV and this car was just plain boring
