One thing I LOVE about this guy, is that he is careful to slowly go in and out with the camera, to make sure the elusive sensor's location is CLEAR. Too many online videos move too fast, as if to impress the viewer with their "vast" knowledge. This guy clearly understands what it's like to be on the viewing end of it. Thanks man!!

I do, however, am having issues I cannot seem to figure out. Many bank one codes, and I keep thinking everytime I replace a sensor, it worked. Replaced ALL, I think, yet the car only ran great for an hour at best, each time?
@randyrozman51124 жыл бұрын
So what do I do when I've replaced all those sensors (including the cam/crank pos sensors), yet still get the same rough running and codes?
@Autofixpals3 жыл бұрын
@@randyrozman5112 You may have an issue with sludge in your engine, low oil, or cam phasers. pull the oil cap off an look into the motor if its pretty clean in there than we can rule out sludge. make sure the oil level is good, Did you install OEM solenoids?

@@Autofixpals thanks for your reply. The issues have been corrected, and vehicle is running perfectly! I eventually found the THIRD solenoid, which two of which were tucked up behind the passenger wheel well. I can't help but wonder if the last one replaced would have corrected the issue, or if I started with the last one first, would I still have had to replace all three, along with the cam/crank sensors? Might be better off NOT knowing, lol. Thanks again!

That bad boy was stuck like chuck! I'm an aftermarket tech and I see GM solenoids stick all the time,they use a micro screen filter that sometimes comes loose and hangs the solenoid open. Excellent diagnosis! This has been my life for the last 37 years and I enjoy watching videos of like minded technicians. Take care of the customer and fix it right the first time through proper diagnosis. Great vids man!

Thank you Mike, i really appreciate the kind words. I used to be aftermarket as well. I have seen my fair share of GM solenoids stick on the ecotec 4 cylinders. I am very thankful that they are right on top and very easy to change! I am certain you will see a few 2.5l Nissans with sticking solenoids soon. I had 2 the same day. The second one was the intermediate lock solenoid sticking. Had intake timing stuck at 10 degrees, that one tricked me because i thought originally it was the intake one sticking. But i figured it out before i sold the job.

Hey Dog, ax me a question. I have a 2007 Scion TC, 137k miles, it has a hesitation upon acceleration, from either a stopped position or a coasting position, does my 2.4L engine have any of these solenoids r would u have an idea of what the problem might be? I've had it to three garages plus a Toyota Dealer and not one could figure out what was wrong? I appreciate any help, it also idles and shifts very rough in extremely cold weather, i have to wait for the engine to warm up a good 15 minutes b4 going anywhere in the winter?

Thank you sir!!! My 2015 was running rough. I read the code. Found your video. Replaced only the exhaust solenoid in less then 15 mins and the Altima is running great. BUT! I have been having an issue with my key fob (for years now). My key fob drains my battery. So I can’t unlock or start the car. I can’t find anything on KZfaq. I changed the battery 10 times. Everytime I change the battery it works for 3 days then I have to manual open the door with the key and when I start it I have to place the key fob close to the push to start to start the car. I’ve taken it to the dealership and they changed the battery and said it’s fixed (even though I told them I changed the battery and then it does in 3 days) so is the key fob shortening and draining the battery in the car? Or does it have to do something with the censor in the Altima when is drawing current on the key fob to cause the battery to die? The back up key fob is dead too. There was something else with that but I didn’t want to write a 3 page essay on it. Or should I just eat it and buy a new key and get it programmed by Nissan

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me? My 2015 Altima 2.5l runs a little rough and gives me these codes PO300-Random/Multiple cyl misfires detected, P2119-Throttle actuator control throttle body range/performance, P2101-Throttle Actuator Control motor circuit range/performance, PO112- Intake air temperature sensor low, And PO102-Mass or Volume Air flow A circuit low. It runs ok but a little rough. I cleaned the throttle body and stuck a screw driver to hold it open to clean it. I also started it with the screw driver in there as I forgot to take it out and the MAF sensor unplugged for a few minutes. Could that have triggered those codes and will they go away? They come up as generic permanent or something like that when I try to clear them.
@MrJChave4 жыл бұрын
I also tested the VVT monitor bank 1 and gave me this information:value-1.0, min-32755.0degrees, Max-13.0dgrees, status:Fail. The MAF sensor at 2,000rpms gave me a reading of 7.3gr/s.

Very possible. change all 3 and make sure to stay on top of your oil changes. Synthetic oil keeps the engine cleaner longer and is a little mor forgiving if you go over your milage. But without doing actual diagnosis its just guessing at this point.

it technically only NEEDED the solenoid for the exhaust timing. However the solenoids are high failure items. So we always sell all 3 of them so that there is no risk of the car coming back a month later with a failure on the intake solenoid. Imagine you just paid a few hundred dollars in july to replace 1 solenoid then august comes you need 1 more. We look like idiots and your inconvenienced yet again. Best repair is to change them all in one shot.
