I just got a 2015 220D AMG Sport black with the night pack, D steering wheel. Me and the misses love it! And we got 2 young chidren. Not sure why it gets so much hate. Looks better than a tesla

Great video, great info. I'm looking at buying the 2014 Edition 1 4Matic soon, pending a test drive. This vid gives me more confidence in the decision.

@@TheAuto101 thank you. The test drive went well. Only concern is a whirring noise that is speed dependent. Tech says it could be a simple fix such as a differential flush. Either way I purchased a warranty from CarMax when I bought it.

When you drive on s (sport) does the gear shift for you by itself like go into D1 D2 etc without me doing it? Or should it stay on D the whole time while I’m driving

In Sport mode, the gears shift by themselves unless you trigger the shift paddles. In Manual mode, the shifting is done by the driver

Thanks for the great review! I'm considering getting a 2014 one with around 100k kms but taking in your point about the 3 series, do you have anything else to add about the maintenance costs? Like are they relatively high?

Thanks for watching man! The maintenance costs are in line w other German manufacturers, but higher than some non-premium manufacturers. No major issues outside of regular maintenance tho

Dude AWESOME video. This is exactly what I was looking for which is a review of an older CLA from a 2020 POV. What do you think is a fair price for this car? Something like a 2018 model?

Thanks man!! Appreciate the support. I'd say a fair price for a 2018 with avg mileage should be around the mid-20s in CAD, low 20s in the states. Lemme know what you end up getting!

Very slick the looks alone are worth considering this car the ride is more BMW like than a 300 series more than enough pick up I have a older 300 and plan on picking up one of these with less than 100k miles

Great video! I am in Canada and stuck between the 2015 Mini Cooper (the more reliable years). Or the CLA. Can you touch up on the reliability of your CLA?

The CLA has been reliable so far through 7-ish years of ownership! No major repairs other than normal maintenance work. Keep in mind, it's only been used 100k-ish kms, so light usage.

Maintenance should largely be in-line with other MB models. Routine maintenance may be less costly given the smaller engine size and FWD Platform

Hi Pete, thanks for watching! That's about an average amount of miles for a 2018, so reliability should be ok. Maybe look into an extended warranty for peace of mind? Deals are tough to say right now in this market :(

@@kingxleyk978 Yeah. thats reliable i bought my 2014 cla250 with 60k miles and it lasted me till 144k miles. Just take care of it and you shouldnt have no problems.

It’ll likely be more expensive in terms of maintenance cost than non-luxury cars, but should be comparable to other luxury European cars of the time
