My wife owns a '14 Rogue SL AWD. We love it! So far in the year we have had it, we have put on about 14k miles with many of those miles coming from long road trips. The Rogue is a real champ! It's got plenty of storage room for luggage/kids things/whatever. We find the seats very comfortable and the car is very easy to drive. I like faster, sportier car but for what this is, it's great! I'd highly recommend it. The only downside might be the fuel economy estimates. In doing highway miles and not being loaded down, we have NEVER seen 33mpg...ever. Average in mixed driving is 26.5 and highway is roughly 30. Not bad for an AWD SUV in my opinion.

Nathan, thank you for the great laugh. Not at your expense mind you, you were very comedic through the entire video but getting stuck was funny. I once got stuck in a Mazda 5 minivan in the third row seat. It was like being strapped to a board like Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs. The Fast Lane Car is my favorite vid program on KZfaq. Well done guys!

Hey Nathan, Roman, great reviews as always, just a question, how would you compare the Nissan Rogue 2014 against Subaru Forester 2014?, a lot of viewers would love to see a comparison between these two indeed
@simpledude0001
@simpledude0001 10 жыл бұрын
Hello Nathan and Roman. As always thank you for another review. I always check out your reviews on all cars and SUV's. This one was of particular interest because I like the option of 3rd row seating. It comes in very handy especially when you have visitors and to take them around, and also, considering the fact that all visitors are not tall. However, I NEVER wanted to buy a MiniVan! For the obvious reason that MiniVans definitely do not look and feel like SUV's :) Anyway, my curiosity in Rogue 2014 review was to see if I went wrong in my analysis of buying KIA Sorento 2013 with 3rd row option. After seeing Nathan struggling to get into 3rd row, I am very glad that I love my Sorento. I am 5' 10'' and can easily get into the 3rd row with ease and even sit comfortably in 3rd row for at least 1 hour of drive! BTW, Nathan, I agree with you mentioning the competitors with 3rd row seating, but I guess you forgot to mention Sorento! :) Thanks Guys. Cheers!

Bob Keilitz : A third row is only featured in the trims without leather which would be S and SV and the third row seats are for kids or animals but it's mainly to show a demonstration of how much room there is in the back. Rav 4 got smaller from the new generation. So even if you weren't to have the third row, Rogue has a lot more room and volume inside in comparison in its class, not to mention the mpg.
@lonewalden30
@lonewalden30 10 жыл бұрын
I like the 3rd row option. 95% of the time I have the third row stowed, the other 5% I use for around town trips with my 4 kids. That way I get to park the 24mpg Nissan Quest every now and again. This is exactly what I want in a second vehicle. Another bonus is I don't have to worry about leaving the family stranded at home while I have the Quest in the shop getting an oil change, or new tires.

Nissan uses the old/new model selling side by side strategy all over the world. Here we have the original X-Trail, which dates back to 2001, still available brand new alongside the current 2013 model. Up to 2011 In South America the B13 model Sentra (circa 1992) was still available brand new alongside newest generation of the car at the time. Basically once there's a market for the older and cheaper models, they continue to offer them

sorry forgot to mention i did replace leather interior in my pro4x with oem factory leather at 9k. The front leather seat had discoloration and the passenger seat melted or burned after using heated seat option very weird. Nissan did not honor warranty so I paid $2200 the only other issue i had is rear bumper rusting at 12k but the bumper was replace under warranty by Nissan. No mechanical issues so fare. As fare as Honda goes nothing yet but i did notice better quality leather interior...

I agree, I really don't like any of the vehicles in this segment however if I had to chose one I'd probably be this, with a diesel though like in the previous Australian model. The main reason I'd pick it is because I think the interior looks fantastic. Those air vents remind me of an Aventador of all cars!

Do you clean them before you send them back or is it somebody else's job (at the automaker)? The main reason I asked this lol is because I got a rental car while mine is getting repaired. It's black, and it was fairly clean whenever I got it.. but gets dirty very easy, and the wheels looked like they have NEVER been cleaned! I waxed my rental car and cleaned the wheels up real nice. lol.. I know enterprise doesn't wax their cars. I just hope I don't get in trouble whenever I return the car

I don't think people understand the purpose of a 3rd row on a car like this. Its 2 extra seats to legally jam people or kids into, its not meant to be comfortable. How many cars can you transport 7 people in and get 33 mpg? If people are too uncomfortable to sit in my car they can drive themselves.

Do we return messy cars? No, not really. We wash off vehicles that have gone off road or that have received excessive driving grime. The automaker's broker does detailing and tries to make the vehicle(s) as presentable as possible. Thanks for watching!

If you guys are gonna review the Outlander try the GT version. You might like it better. The GT has a V6 and not the CVT which is on the ES and SE. I've seen reviews where adults sat in the Outlander's 3rd row. Rogue's 3rd row seems completely unusable (at least for Nathan). Outlander's interior is also nicely padded inside and 2nd row seats also recline.

The Forester definitely does NOT have more room. We had one and got rid of it real quick. Also the Forester handles terribly on the highway. Squirley I guess you can call it as it didn't want to stay centered in the lane. common problem with that car on the forums.
@wtrdogg20
@wtrdogg20 10 жыл бұрын
Lets go the cold numbers, while the Xtrail 2014 has maximun 70cu.ft. of space, the Forester 2014 has 74.7cu.ft. of maximun cargo area. And about the handling, dude, I dont know what Forester you were driving or you had, or what forums are you talking about, but the Forester is famous for its superb handling and stability on road and off road. It is the MotorTrend SUV of the year 2014, for a good reason. It is a true AWD vehicle, not on demand, but true all time all wheel drive with true response to road conditions, and THE SAFEST IN ITS CLASS, hands down! I dont say the Xtrail is a bad Crossover, it looks great, but at the end of the day is just for mom and dad, for mall shopping day and some dirty road trips, not as an adventure vehicle as the Forester.

Just an observation, sure 3rd row seats, BUT if you are having to use that row means you have a lot people in the car.... Wouldn't you have a significant amount of gear/cargo? But you don't have a trunk anymore. So you can carry people but not their stuff. Sure you are using the third row for 2 year olds but 2 years olds require "stuff" when going out.

Anyway the other gripe I have is with the engines. Take notes Nissan. The 2014 Ford Escape Titanium has a 2.0L 4cyl Turbo putting out 240hp with 270 ft.lbs of torque. That's embarrassing Nissan!! The maximum cargo space which means with the seats down for Honda CRV is 2007 (L) and for Nissan Rogue its 1982 (L). For the little space saved for when the seat are up its not worth it all. First of all Honda CRV is first in it's class and is known and proven to be more dependable then Nissan. Second of all the CRV does not have a CVT on the CRV which I think is a blessing. Third of all the CRV offers more passenger space "2949" (L) compared to Nissans "2843" (L). Also Honda has 15 more Horsepower and I think has a far better design. In my eyes there is now question, but hey a car is a subjective choice and everyone is entitled to there own options. I strongly think that Honda is a better brand so it really is the dependability that sells me.

The third row of seats is not so much meant for sitting as it is for acting as another upholstered cargo divider for a total of two cargo dividers. In truth there is something about the new Rogue which reminds me of Porsches- both have a row of seats which are little more than decorative. They are may be useful for securing a baby seat or as a threat for older children who misbehave- "Don't make me stop this car and put you in the third row of seats!"

For those who wonder why to put a 3rd row in a small(er) SUV, here's the deal. No, it's not for adults. But for those of us who must transport more than 3 kids every now and then (e.g. half the daughter's soccer team), it's the difference between taking one or two vehicles. Need the feature often? No. Grateful when it is needed? You bet.
