I need to change a dead bulb for one of the Honda Fit fog lights (2016 model). Is it possible to remove that front fog light cover without taking the whole front bumper off? Seems like you can only pry those release clips from the back side of the bumper.

I would say its possible. You could use Plastic Automotive Trim removal tools to Pry and or Pop it out of place. There should be a video on KZfaq demonstrating how to do that, but on another Honda vehicle. You could also take the front wheel off, and remove some of the fender liner to access the fog light from behind.

Surprisingly the dust sock repels water quite well. I haven't gone full subversive though. Thanks for the video idea. :)

Nice tutorial! I'm curious, I myself have a 2020 base model, and I'm wanting to install fog lights. Did Honda do something similar to Subaru where the wiring is all in place, and all one needs is the lamps/trim inserts and a button inside, or will I need to fully wire the fog lights?

You will need to fully wire the fog lights. I think running the cable through the firewall is going to be the hardest part.

Does the base model fit have wiring pre ran for the fog lights? Or do you need to put in a complete harness and relays etc to retrofit fog lights onto an LX?

The base model Honda Fit does not have wiring pre-ran for the Fog Lights. I ordered this Fog Light kit off Amazon. amzn.to/3uvnBR0 It came with the fog light inserts, fog lights, and a wiring harness. The hardest part of the install would be running the cable/harness through the firewall.

Hello, does the Fit come from factory with the fog light wiring harness (male end) even if it doesn't have the light assembly on, as an option? That is, when you removed your bumper did you see any fog light cable there, unused (maybe capped for protection)? Thanks.

No, the U.S. Honda Fit does not have wiring for the fog lights, unless your Honda Fit came with fog lights.

Just curious, what made you choose the base model? I got the ex because that is the trim the color I wanted was available in. Nice job on this video.

I wanted the passion berry purple. This is my 3rd purple car! Black cloth interior. I really did it think I was getting it, 20 min in at the dealer and they located it branford ct! In in NY so it already had its first road trip with out me. Mine is a 2015. The orange is a nice pick. I think that came out later.

I bought my Honda Fit brand new and the total price out the door was $17,100. The next trim level up cost $3000 plus tax. I used some of that money I saved to modify my car to my own trim level :)

I bought the base LX trim because - I didn't want the touchscreen controls that came with EX. - The EX had oversized wheels and low profile tires. Those are more expensive and less durable, only to get a stiffer suspension. None of that called me. - The EX had remote start and keyless ignition. I didn't want either. If someone steals my car, they should work for it. - The dealer had an LX Fit in stock. I would have had to special order an EX or Sport package.

@@margekalogridis3929A friend got purple, what a lovely color! ❤ I like the orange, too. Unfortunately, the only one I found on a lot was charcoal gray. Since I didn't want to special order just for the color, I have a Boring Fit. (Still love the car though!)

I would say it's mostly the same. At some point the FIT got a face lift, so the front bumper, fog lights and the rear bumper look a little different.

Really wanted to remove that rubber underneath the bumper, do I need to take out the bumper or just jack the car up?

You should be able to just jack up the car to remove it. You might have to partially undo the skid plate to get to some of the clips. I think this is what your trying to remove kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ermFqqWbpszSf40.htmlsi=wZGUnyQgxfDPjoOv&t=76
