►Mercedes-Benz W205 front control arm replacement is one of the simplest DIY jobs you can tackle to restore the handling of your W205.
Control arms are a crucial link in a vehicle's suspension, connecting the suspension to a vehicle's subframe. These pieces are usually hinged to allow for the suspension to travel and articulate as the vehicle rides over obstructions in the road and while the vehicle turns. Many vehicles, such as those with independent suspensions, have multiple links and feature several connection points and arms to offer better ride quality and comfort.
As bushings and joints in a control arm begin to wear, you may notice a looseness feel in your suspension. While many arms have replaceable and serviceable individual components, many still require the replacement of the entire arm. If you're feeling any play in the suspension, notice any uneven tire wear, or can hear a buckling noise coming from the suspension - it's time to take a look at those control arms.
In this video, Kyle Bascombe, FCP Euro's Mercedes-Benz Catalog Manager, takes us through removing and installing the new control arms for your Mercedes W205. This job is fairly straightforward and doesn't require the use of any specialty tools.

Great video and TY. I watched it to get a general idea to replace upper control arms(with camber adjustment) on a 19' GLC63 with air suspension and 4matic and it was very helpful. Should video the drivers side showing the 2 plastic nuts holding fuse box, then fish out the fuse box to hand access the the 16mm nut closest to driver. That's the hardest part of the whole job but easy once you have space! I have good pictures.

Hi Solution to the stiff amg suspension on the w205? Any way to make it softer to soak bumps and bad roads better? Bought the w205 c200 with amg suspension not knowing it's so stiff

Hey 👋🏾 , any chance you could help me repair the fuel sender and pump of a w211 where the half of the tank will completely be used up to the point where the engine shuts of yet the other side is full , a fix rather than a replacement would be great, I live in a remote area you see 😪

Helpful tip, the nut in the engine bay on the driver side is under the fuse box. Remove the two bolts holding the fuse box and lift the fuse box out of the way to access it.

I don’t think the 205 has camber adjustment. Only front and rear toe. At least on my c63S it’s a fixed -2.2 camber.

That's correct Robert! By doing exactly as you said, you'll ensure that the bushing isn't under constant preload when on the ground.

What Symptoms Would you encounter to warrant replacement of these Control Arm Parts? I Have About 88K Mikes and Having Vibrations at 50/60MPH and above.. Not Sure if I'm Supposed to have that Vibration at that Mileage Or It's Something Else. 2014 C300 AWD.

Do control arm bolts need to be replaced. Torque is specified both in NM and angles which could mean that the bolts are stretch bolts?

Having a secondary angle often means its stretch to yield - so we'd recommend replacing the bolts.

Thanks a lot for that valuable video, but if you please, can you make another video showing how to replace the left upper control arm, because it’s so confusing that one of the nuts is very deep and hidden by the fuse box and other components!!! It seems to to be impossible to reach that stupid nut without removing tons of parts in the way!! I’ll appreciate it if you give me a hint on this because I’m planning to to do this job on this weekend.

Cut the sway bar nut and insert a new 10.9 /12.9 110mm Bolt from the other side. and voila no need to lower the sway bar on your next change..

The lower control arm to axle carrier bolts are torque to yield, so they are one time use bolts. Need to make sure you order new ones from Mercedes. Do not reuse the these bolts.
