Exterior wise, this car has no bad angles - it is truly a beautiful design. Interior wise, solid and functional - looks better in person and actual use than photos. How it drives: brilliantly, other than steering feel. I miss hydraulic power steering BMWs - to the vast majority of drivers or casual use, it's perfectly fine.

I have a f30 and I'vpreviously had an A5. BMW can't match Audi for interior but Audi can't match BMW for driver feel. That's my opinion.

Black interiors don't show age or look unclean,they hide it well,if you like light interiors,then be prepared to clean it a lot because you'll notice every scuff scratch,the carpets will gradually look unclean no matter what you do,maybe getting it professionally cleaned might do,but their again your spending more on the Car,no dark is my preferred option every time.

I am really disappointed by the F30. Some time ago, I was about to buy 328xi with almost full spec... but I ended up with E90 330i and I have to say that F30 is nowhere near the E90 in terms of how it drives and how it feels on the road. There is not much sportiness left in 3 series. Even though F30 I driven had m adaptive suspension, variable sport steering and 18 inch rims it was way to soft and there was almost no steering feel, even in sport mode. Also F30 is ridiculously tacky in some aspects. Touch the centre tunnel, centre console or door trim, using some force and you will hear lot of cracking, but the most ridiculous thing is that you pay extra for internal aluminium trim that is plastic - is it still premium car?:)

The aluminum trim is actual aluminum, not plastic. I have one of these cars. My car is now five years old, there are no rattles and no creaks. I have had my horn replaced under warranty. Otherwise, the car has been reliable and remains fully functional like it came from the factory. Some people prefer the E90, that is cool. I prefer the F30 as I am a muscular, bigger guy and I fit better in the F30. I also enjoy the smoother ride. I also prefer the looks and the updated features of the F30, especially the Professional I drive and Nav screen. The point being, that the E90 best fits your needs and the F30 best fits mine. We are both happy BMW customers.

Looks just as dull as the previous one. LED lights are not standard extra £700. 16" wheels are standard 19" are not. The sat nav screen looks like an afterthought, why not built into the dash? Electric front seats extra £1000......typical BMW base spec pay loads for "extras"

Thinking of buying one, I heard these 3 series got timing chain issues around 70000 or 80000 miles

That is only a concern for the PRE FACELIFT 3 series. The LCI 3 series's, facelift from late 2015 to 2018, are built on a new platform which fixed that issue. Definitely go for it, i plan on picking one up soon too, it's a great car

By 2015 the engine was from N model but from 2015 onward the new engine ( B model) fitted and no chain issue any longer. Basically the B engines were recently introduced as one of the most reliable engines in the segment by insurance companies' magazine.

I drive the model it's replaced and It's 320d efficency dynamics model. 2012 model and I do about 1000 miles a week...so reliable and economical. I average about 55 mpg with the air con on most of the times. The 8 speed auto is the one to go for and I find the engine has plenty of power....upgrade to the headlights is a must...also only £20 road tax for the year....Top car

+qaching the car looks identical if you buy one with the adaptive headlights...I have seen the 15 reg headlights and I don't like the new daytime led lights..adaptive headlights is a must if you buy any of the models

It's funny that they get a majority of people to review this car that drive an Audi. Well let's just say bmw will always be better than Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar and Lexus. Still don't see any of those manufacturers that can rival the BMW 335d xdrive m sport.

I agree with everything Nathan Marshall says. The shape and detailing of the hood has always looked unresolved to me. Hey What Car?: would it kill you to include someone who's not a white dude in your focus group?

For many years I loved BMWs with a passion. My first car was an E30 318i, and my last one was a 2008 E90. I knew every detail about most models and dreamed about updating my BMW as long as new designs appeared. Enter the F30 and I just stopped giving a fuck about BMW, now they can go out of business and I could care less about it. Maybe I am getting old but the F30 looks hideous.

RL R nobody cares what you think, bmw sales are doing good, you can start driving toyota if not pleased. we others stick happily with bmw.
