I test drove it myself, and I bought it! The hell with the haters

There is no car that gets so much hate as the X6 and there is no phone that gets as much hate as the iPhone, especially iPhone 6 Plus. Imagine sitting in a traffic jam in your X6 with an iPhone 6 Plus in your hand, people will go absolutely bat shit. I want to be that guy so I'm thinking about buying both of them.

This dude seems to be enjoying the drive, but saying all the negative things he has heard........

I still hold firm to the feeling I felt all those years ago when I first seen the X6; it's drop dead gorgeous and I'd love to own one. Honestly, when I first heard all of the hate towards the X6, I was quite surprised to hear it. Yes, it's not as practical as it could be, but I feel most other common complaints are subjective. All in all, if I was in the market for one, I would more than likely pick up a new X6. Especially the X6 M.

i dont care what anyone says the x6 was and is an extremely beautiful car and no other suv except the cayenne cant match the driving experience it offers and thou the range is a great car ive never heard a british person speak a speck of negative of it and they are always biased towards the range rover

in the video clip you say the vast majority of people will hate the X6.......you are absolutely correct. but it's that vast majority who can't afford it and simply hate it out of jealousy. I purchased a new X6 40d and since then I've come across so many jealous drivers trying to race tail gate or never letting me out of a side road. if knew the 40d would have upset the haters I would have purchased the 50d .....which I'm happy to say is now on order !!!!!! Haters will always hate.

X6 owner here. I wanted a sports car in the beginning. But then I realized here in Canada I really need a car with decent ground clearance in winter. So I bought a SUV with some sporty style, so called SAV by bmw.

Why so much hate? I think it looks great. You have got to see this in the flesh to appreciate the looks. Pics/vid don't do it justice

I used to own a 2008 X6 and I loved every single thing about it, so I got a new 2013 one and its awesome!! great car, great fun.and I hope to buy the new one soon :) btw don't really care what other people think whatsoever; I LOVE IT!

Always liked the X6. Everyone is all very quick to conform and get on board with whatever is "trending" on social media and whatever "cause" is current.

The BMW X6 is an awesome ride. The reason why it is still around after its' launch in 2008 is because people simply love this SAV. I am a proud owner of a BMW X6 35i. It handles very well for a large vehicle. The head room in the back is adequate. I have not seen anyone have issues getting in my back seat. There is plenty of leg room for someone of average height. It is a perfect vehicle for me because I don't carry passengers often and I wanted a vehicle that did not have the the typical sluggish SUV feel. Like other BMWs I have driven, it is fast and the steering is responsive. I think most people love the look of this car.

The more people hate this car, the more I like it. I am not sure I understand the undying attraction to the standard SUV look, but it's not for me. The X6 is different and that's a good thing.

I think this is a perfect car for someone who lives in an area with shitty roads, but wants to drive something sporty, and in my opinion it looks astonishing!

I've loved the design since day one, but I couldn't afford one back then. Now I finally can and I will pick mine up next week. Not the M50d, but the 40d which is enough for me and fits my budget. I don't care what people think about me or my car. I know I'm good people and getting a X6 is not changing that. It's my dream car and I can afford it, simple as that. I just don't get why people must hate it. There's plenty of more expensive and more unpractical cars out there (like every supercar fx), but I guess the X6 strikes a bad chord with some people. Haters are sad, sad people...

Number 2. Yes I just purchased my second one. My first one was a 2009 and just two days ago I got a 2017 that was a clearance model. 15 k below msrp. Oh my what an upgrade. I love this car.

X6 is the only BIG car i would choose to buy, the X5 may be more practical but its an ugly square box. As i rarely have rear passengers or much in the boot the X6 is the perfect choice

This is a beautiful car and the sales statistics prove it. Its like people calling angelina jolie not pretty these days, it's popular to hate on success. Just admit it is beautiful with the BEST available diesel engine; ever.

I think the X6 is very much aimed at people who do care about what other people think. They're just also the kind of people who don't actually know what other people think. They think everyone has taste as bad as them.

I don't care what people think, I'm different and I'd have an X6 without hesitation. Lovely looking car...different and has individuality written all over it. Bit pricey though

I never understood why the X6 has always been so universally disliked. When first saw the x6 I thought it looked like Batman's Tumbler Batmobile. And when I drove it for the first time I felt like it was too, only the whole interior was wrapped in supple leather with contrast stitching. It handled like a smaller car with little body roll, but cruised quietly and smoothly on the highway like a big luxury sedan. The coupe roofline was always pleasing to me, and the small number on the road added to the exclusivity, with sales about equal to that of the 6 series Gran Coupe. I got compliments everywhere I drove it. And nobody ever asked me what the point was. If they did, I would tell them that my personal preference was towards the X6 over the X5 based on looks, which were and still are very pleasing to me. I think this new model is absolutely gorgeous. Lastly, only bought cars on the basis of dollar value and practicality, everyone would buy an A6 over an A7, or a 5 Series over a 6 Series Gran Coupe, etc. Bottom line is, sometimes people want to spend a few extra grand for a car that looks the way they want it to, and you shouldn't be passing judgement on their taste because of that! By the way, my 2010 x6 blew its fuel pump and needed a full transmission replacement after less than 2 years of driving. It's gone now. But still, GO ONLINE AND BUILD AN XLINE WITH THE 20" BLACK RIMS AND TELL ME YOU DON'T WANT ONE! haha!

Despite what everyone thinks about X6 and it's looks, the enormous success of it has forced all other manufacturers to start make a SUV coupe. BMW has had all the market for this niche product for themselves and are making a tone of money off it. I guess it's like the Nissan Juke. Everybody think it's ugly but Nissan still sells a lot of them.

I just recently picked up a 2012 X6M and it is amazing driver's car. It is very fast, handles extremely well for its size and practical enough for someone with 2 kids.

Yes. Very much so. You even know the price although you can't afford one. Ever since I bought this car I've noticed one thing.......the guy driving the worst car on the road always seems to have the most to say about everyone else's car except his own. The haters of the world can't hide their green eyes when they see an X6. And to be honest I got a bit concerned how jealous drivers never gave way at junctions or deliberately cut me up and the tailgaters on the motorway trying to make me move out of their way just so they can get two inches in front. So concerned in fact that I sold my beautiful X6 40d and bought an X6 50d. People as yourself still have perfect green eye that will never change. But the tailgaters are a very small dot in my rear view mirror. See ya!

Absolutely love my 13' X6 x-drive vehicle. A fun drive, and stylish. Everywhere I go people stop me to compliment my car and ask me tons of questions about it. I think it's gorgeous and absolutely fits my personality. I had my 08' 650i first and still to this day I get compliments on it too! I love BMW! I get it, people in London hate it! Drove a Range Rover too and wasn't impressed. Its a nice car, but boring...

Well, let me put it this way: I have an E53 (1st gen) BMW X5. It's got 460L of trunk space. The new X6, has 585L. This makes it 225L more than a 1st gen X5, and it still has more than the E70 (2008-2013) BMW X5. The trunk is *BIG*.

This thing is so ugly. My buddy had an X6M and caught sense after a few years and sold it and got an ML63 AMG. This makes no sense, uglier than an X5, more expensive than an X5 and less practical than an X5.

The BMW X6 is gorgeous. If you just look at it for it's merits. It's powerful, agile, fast, can tow, has a big comfortable seats, it's absolutely loaded with tech, it's AWD. There's really nothing not to like. People can go on all day comparing it to other cars but it stands on it's own very well. If you don't like it don't buy it. The people that own the X6s enjoy them why be so adamant that they should buy what you like? The only "idiot" is the person that let's other people make his choices.

I swear I don't understand why so many people unlike the looks of the x6 (I do understand the tons of people who do), I think it's so innovative, classy and sporty that the "small lack" of practicality they offer (compared to the x5) doesn't exactly matter... Of course it would never be the logical option for a family, but so wouldn't most cars that petrol heads like! So, yes, the x6 is an astonishing car from most angles and it's a hell of a BMW, a true driver's car!

Alex already makes a mistake at the beginning of the film. If you're going to drive this, i'm sure you'll get confused because it's obviously pretty good to drive. Simply observing owners of these was enough.

MY father used to have one of these a couple years back. an older model, 2011. funny that he now has a 2016 range rover sport, but almost everyday he says he misses the way the X6 drove. My life goal is to be succesful and to buy him an X6, no matter what other think or thought. I loved the car, he loved it, and it is my goal.

I like the X6, 6 series Gran Coupe, Range Rover Sport, and the A7. A while back, (like 8 years) I was telling my mechanic I wanted a range rover and he said they are not reliable and are always in his shop. Has range rover improved this? I was looking for a 2013 and up. Thoughts on Audi and BMW reliability? My favorite interior is BMW's. They have really improved their exterior and interior design as I always thought their cars were ugly until a few years ago.

Maybe it's for people who want coupe styling with the stance and commanding view of an SUV. Why does a car have to be so practical that it requires a 2-box silhouette? To many, it's about how they look and feel while driving the car. Much like the Miata MX-5, VW CC and Mercedes-Benz CLS aren't very practical in their seating capacities, neither is this concoction of a vehicle very practical. As we all know most car purchases are emotional purchases and not practical ones, otherwise we would all drive mini-vans. I say if you want an ugly car and have the money, then by golly, buy yourself one.

Range sport over an X6 cause X6 does not have that quality... Ok, unsubscribed. I don;t need to listen to this kind of bs... X6 might have no "class" but saying that range is better is total british bs...

Top gear hated on it and the rest blindly followed...this is a stunning machine and a marvel of engineering. A tank that moves and handle like a sports Coupé

The X6 is the European equivalent to the American Hummer H2. - It's to childish, to unconventional, and it dosn't make any sense. But that's what’s good about it. It's a car that doesn’t try to appeal to everyone. It appeals to the person, who is still in contact with their inner child. It’s a toy, more than a car.

Range Rover and quality? Now, there's an oxymoron.

I don't buy a car for back seat passengers, get a taxi or buy your own car, boot size is a individual factor long as it can take a buggy, few boxes and my shopping and the seats fold down I'm good. Looking to get a 50D one day with many features as possible.

Surely the problem is in the logic of wanting to combine the bulk of an X5 with the practicality of a 4-Series. Any sane person can see that's backwards. The 5-Series Touring gets it the right way round.

WTF I like it.

I really like the X6 and love the X6M. The stylings is sweet and performance is great with handling. Ones who hate this are crazy? If you want a SUV get the X5 for it's size and shape plus function with more of the drivetrain of the X6. The X6 is based off the 6 Series Coupes. For driving than styling in the Range Rover. I'm a Driver and prefer the X6M for Me.

Commenting on how this car has less space and is less practical than an X5 assumes that blind people buy it - I saw how it looked, liked that it wasn’t a box of empty space like an X5 and decided to buy it FOR THAT REASON. I challenge reviewers to include in their X5 reviews that although it is practical, it’s cavernous capacity will go largely unused and it compromises on styling unlike the X6. 😌

- Design: ok - Engine: good - Trans: good - Quality: good - handling: good the only reason it deserves to be hated is .. it is a lifted 4 series, WHY IS IT SO HIGH ? there would be no drawbacks on just making it fuckin normal ! and its unnecessary in BMWs lineup .. many cars are unnecessary in the lineup like 4 gt, 3 gt, x4, x6, x1 The x6s developement is a joke, first you build a good offroad/suv platform for the x5: lets make this car a bit higher for ground clearance - then comes the x6 where they lower the car a bit to make it handle better ? wtf ... just buy a damn 6 series if you want a luxurious bmw coupe !!1

2013-2014 x6 are much more beautiful cars inside and out. Minus the speedometer and heads up display otherwise the 2015+ X6 look atrocious. (Currently on a 24 hour test drive thinking it could potentially be better than my 2014 all black with side skirts) for me personally, I also love how the 2013-2014 has that heavy stiff feeling when you drive. I’m sure others don’t but that’s my preference. I get a lot more looks in my 2013 than the 2015.

It’s funny that 90% of the BMW X6 dislikers are all English.. clearly for them it’s more about promoting the Range Rover.. I’m neither a British nor German and I have driven and owned both the Range Rover sport and the BMW X6.. in my opinion, the BMW X6 is far more fun to drive, better engine power and more reliable.. the Range Rover sport has the looks and class also but feels nowhere as good as the x6.. only people that appreciate the x6 are the ones who’ve either been in it or driven it.. I loved it so much that I bought the 2019 which I own now and is a gem in the car world.

I really don't take these reviews serious coming from this guy because he is or proclaims to be absolutely in love with every car he drives. It seems he is incapable of not liking a car because every car he reviews is described as a beautiful masterpiece or work of art.

As a BMW tech,I can honestly say this is the biggest piece of shit on the planet, from engine,electronics and anything else u can think of on this suv breaks really fast

We hate X6 beacuse of people who drive it . They do not respect traffic rules (do not use indicators , traffic light are invisible to them , on open road do not switch to low beam when passing someone , never let pedestran , never let bus , almost always is X6 that is parked on tram tracks by bakery making people late , often drive over 100km/h in city during night) , always play annoyingly loud music and are in 90+% crimminals . If you see X6 in Belgrade is is almost certan that is is payed by cash with no background check , money launder car . When parked it takes space for 2 Espaces (which is 7 seater) and X6 never seats more than 2 . Once I was started talking to X6 driver , old as me (21) , while we were changing tires . He started mocking me for being engneering student and not young , rich and popular 'biznis man' like he is , and how my car (Hyundai Atos) cost less than his 4 wheels .

I love it, although I'd probably go for the petrol engine and I think the SE trim looks better than the M Sport on the X6. People are very quick to judge one another based on their preconceptions, as Alex says. To hell with it; drive what you want and what makes you feel good.

Love X6 because is beautiful all round and powerful ,prestige with a solid build quality.

As an X6 40D owner, my opinion is biased. However to all those other people with such passionate negative opinions, you really have to ask yourself, why do you care so much.

The front look of the past X6 is much better than the current version,
