back at the end of 2018 I also bought 2.... for my 2 daughters, both silver 200C 3.6L AWD with all the options with Nappa leather with real wood one with black interiors and the second with cream... they had around 30K miles when purchased also purchased the lifetime Mopar warranty so I told my daughters, here you have your Chrysler's! for life! I drive a 300C and my wife an Aspen... other than replacing the full set of shocks and struts to both cars (paid only 100 each as deductible) and new brake pads and tires.... both have been trouble free! also paid around $38K for both including the lifetime warranty.. was a tremendous deal These are Alfa Romeos with Chrysler body and engine... the calipers and some chasis parts have the Alfa Romeo logo stamped on them... love love love the leather on both... nice cars

Just bought one yesterday. Sleek, aerodynamic, and a really smooth ride. I bought the 4 cylinder. It's a gas sipper. We've put 100 miles on the car since yesterday and we still have almost a full tank. And a very large trunk. Not what I went in looking for, but with all the rebates and at $22K I couldn't pass it up. The designers did a good job and I don't feel like I'm driving a "girly" car".

I bought the 2015 200 C AWD 3.6 liter, on 19 inch alloy wheels, in black with white interior. This is a head Turner! And honestly, I have to pull back off the line in sport mode, using the paddle shifters. I've had her 3 months and I'm still learning all the integration of futuristic driving. Same collision warnings and brake as a Lexus in heavy traffic. Same lane assist without using brake technology, but rather electronic steering assistance without over powering the driver. The adaptive cruise control with sonar slows as you approach a slower vehicle ahead, then resumes. And the Uconnect technology alone will make you smile in traffic. Well worth the sticker price of 36k. Best and most beautiful car I've ever owned.

I saw this car at the Toronto Auto Show and literally came back to the booth seven times to look at the gorgeous lines and sit in it again. This video in the rain does not do this car justice, it has beautiful lines, and the interior when compared to the other contenders I sat in at the show, was hands down the best. Really excited to test drive this car when our local dealer gets one. I check every week. Going to trade my Grand Marquis in (wife allowing) and get this. Perfect family car with the extra goodies I want. I specially like that you can pick and choose the options, you aren't forced to buy things (like nav) that you don't want. Really impressed with this ride!

The Camry, Accord, Altima and Sonata have sterilized American expectations of cars so much that at this point, all they expect is to get from point A to point B - prefferably without breaking down. None of these schlubs know what a driving experience is till they rent a RWD with more than 275 horsepower. The 200 is going to be a great car. The features are roughly equal to the 300, Charger and JEEP Cherokee which means you won't miss out on tech. No one else in the segment gives you a V6 with AWD anymore for less than $35,000.
@mhtube01
@mhtube01 10 жыл бұрын
Well said! Another thing that I think is REALLY sad, is that Chrysler is one of the few companies anymore that still offers a full size, V8 powered, RWD sedan. Ford REFUSES to use anything bigger than a V6 anymore which I think is stupid. They swear by the Ecoboost engines which don't get me wrong are good, but they really can't build a proper replacement for the Crown Vic, or offer a V8 for the Taurus? GM finally came out with the SS which is a nice car but I think they need to put a V8 in the new Impala. They did such a nice job with that car and all it comes with is a V6 or a 4 cylinder. I mean come on, put a V8 in that car like it deserves!! The true full size cars are a dying bread. Shame.
@PassportBrosBusinessClass
@PassportBrosBusinessClass 10 жыл бұрын
Ford was first of the Big3 to embrace the fuel economy mandates placed on it by the government. The government mandates are the real reason the V8 is being killed.

mhtube01 I think the dying breed...is you. The Impala, which is apparently a great car, doesn't deserve a V8 anyway unless they decide to put AWD in it and make a special version of it. A V8 and FWD? What for?
@mhtube01
@mhtube01 10 жыл бұрын
Maestro_T I forgot to mention that. I wouldn't want a FWD V8 car at all. They would absolutely have to make it AWD or it would be even cooler if they made the Impala RWD again just like the good old days. But then, that virtually eliminates the need for the SS, unless you prefer that over the Impala. I'm going to take what you said as a compliment. I'm old fashioned with cars so yes, I am a dying breed. I'm surrounded by people that only care about fuel economy and safety in cars. Or they just buy the base, 4 cylinder with no options cause that's all they need to get from point A to point B. I on the other hand love cars that perform. I hate cars that are boring to drive and have no personality. I want something that I'll look forward to driving, something that's fast, looks good and sounds good but still has good practicality (at least for an every day driver.) Classic cars are my favorite though. I love the big V8 powered, RWD boats like old Cadillacs and Buicks. They were awesome cars. But at the same time I love muscle cars and sports cars. So yes, I am a dying breed and I'm proud of it!

The 9 speed automatic transmission is made by ZF in Germany. It shifts much quicker than you think. And this transmission has different modes, such as economy, normal, and sport modes. The first six gears are for sporty driving, and the last three gears are for fuel economy. The ratios on this transmission are closer, so the transmission shifts smoothly.

To me, this takes me back to the late-90s Cloud Cars and the entire '95-99 run of the Chrysler brand. Soft floating elegance, most modern & practical design, and still enough grunt in the mechanics to bitch-slap the high-selling sheep-mobiles.

I really liked it too. My parents leased a 2014 Super S Premium model back at the end of January and I actually really like that car. It does have some hints of the old Chrysler in it like the old Uconnect system, which is incredibly dated compared to the new 8.4 inch screen system that I have in my 2013 Dodge Dart. The old one lags and looks older, the new one has virtually no lag and is pretty much the best system out there in my opinion. It's just so intuitive and easy to figure out. The 200's system does the job though. I like the rest of the interior, I think it's classy and quality is overall way better than the Sebring. The new one really steps it up though. The Pentastar V6 is an awesome engine too. Extremely smooth, powerful, and quiet but at the same time when you rev it high, it has a nice roar to it. You do get a lot of torque steer if you gun it from a stop but I think it adds to the fun. Overall it's a nice driver with great ride quality. I'm anxious to drive the new one with AWD with the V6, no torque steer there and probably better handling. We got a REALLY good deal on ours though so we couldn't pass it up!

Urban Freedom Magazine after what recall? I have a 2015 200s with 36,000 miles and I love it. Although i wish I would have gotten the V6 though. Great value but transmission can be a little annoying at times in normal mode. Sport mode is perfect and it holds gears perfectly for spirited driving in canyons or going up hills. A lot of car for the money.

I recently owned a 2011 Dodge Avenger and people really don't give the Avenger and the 200 very much credit. I have owned a lot of different cars in my 20 years of driving and the Chrysler cars are made really good nowadays. Hopefully soon I can get back into a Chrysler/Dodge product.

Chrysler flew these two Morons out there so they'll say anything for a quick buck.While everyone has their own opinion on the looks of the lexus,do you honestly believe these Chryslers will be worth anything after 5-10yrs? Everyone knows Chrysler is at the bottom when it comes to reliability,you honestly think these Italians will change that? That car won't last & resale is going to be a joke.
@awksweat230
@awksweat230 9 жыл бұрын
penvon Morons, really? That's kind of rude. Also, I HIGHLY doubt they are saying anything just because they were flown in to shoot a video. Their reputation and honest opinions are what keep them in business, not friendly ties with a certain car manufacturer. Onto the main point: "While everyone has their own opinion on the looks of the lexus" That's exactly my point. FLC implied that this is the poor man's Lexus. I am offering my personal opinion otherwise. This is a VERY nice package and I am sure with the recent uptick in reliability numbers from Chrysler, it will hold down its value well. Lexus is hands down more reliable and less vulnerable to depreciation but it is also much more expensive with, in my opinion, a slightly higher level of comfort and luxury that is not worth the initial price tag.
@penvon
@penvon 9 жыл бұрын
Okay maybe I went a little overboard with the Morons comment,but whenever Chrysler flies These guys over to review a car I can't trust their opinion. I just don't get why they didn't say it's the poor mans Cadillac or poor mans Benz.I only drive Lexus & for these guys to even mention Lexus while driving in a Chrysler is disrespectful. Lexus=The pursuit of Perfection. Chrysler=The Pursuit of trying to last 5 yrs on the road without breaking down.

I think Chrysler made a decent and competitive product here.they focused on key areas like design and bringing a modern refined 4cylinder option to the 200 with better gas mileage.I also think the non cvt path they chose might net them more customers because cvts are boring and still have some reliability issues .they also priced it competitively .I could actually see these selling more than the Malibu.

I rented the 200 2012-13? for 5 days and it was so loaded with a moonroof. I loved it so much that I priced one when I got back and it was $24000 and I could have had it as low as $22000 with the 2013s rolling in but I just couldn't part with my 2010 Wrangler. It was super quiet, smooooooth ride, handled great and the mpg was good enough when buying petrol by the liter where I was. Now it's been completely changed and along with a bigger engine, tack on $10,000 with no moonroof. Dang. I'm sorry I let the one I was checking out get away.

This car is way better looking than any Luxes, I wouldn't touch Luxes if you pay me, boring and ugly. 200's interior is about as good as the Audi's but more interesting and modern, only interior can compete with it is probably Fusion's in that price range. Exterior is smooth, and streamlined, almost Teslaish. I think this is the best midsize sedan Chrysler has made so far.

Houston Yellow cab has the 2014 version of this car, only bad thing for TALL Texans, is back door does not have the head clearance the Ford Crown Vic's had (Crown Vic's being replaced due to age & mileage, city ordinance requires cabs not be more than 5 years old.).. The ride on the cab's is quite smooth, but is more cramped than the cabs that these are replacing.

I think this car's direct competitor is the Buick Verano, which is in a no-sales market segment of its own, but now premium brands are reaching down with cars like, CLA and A3, which are definitely similar in terms of size and premium feel, buyers may cross compare them, but 200 and Verano will still be cheaper than the premium German brands

The Chrysler/Dodge brand is doing big things right now. Im very impressed with the new styling and mechanical workings of the lineup. RAM 8 speed and a diesel, Grand Cherokee's are marvels, UConnect is probably the best multimedia centre and now this beautiful 200! Great job by Chrysler/Fiat. I believe Fiat has brought great european innovation and attention to detail to North America that lacked in years past. Very impressed and looking forward to more!

It's a gorgeous car from any angle, inside and out. My only complaint about the styling is that the rear looks like a more attractive version of the new Impala's tush. That's hardly a complaint though. My only reservation about the car is the 9-speed auto. That's an awful lot of gears and things to go wrong.

It looks so great! Though nit a big fan of a transverse V6 in a supposed luxury car (not a fan of anything more than 4 cylinders in a transverse configuration).

The front resembles my old 2001 300M. This car is heavier than mine and its faster than mine and not to mention stronger than my 3.5L engine. Keep up the good work Chrysler ^_^ Please put the 8 speed on the Hemi for the new 300 ;)

Heard on the news today of a guy who financed one of these for 8yrs (I kid you not).8yrs & the cost at the end of the loan would've been $56000 Canadian.The guy passed away & his wife couldn't afford & the news report made Chrysler buy it back....Who would've thought someone would finance a Chrysler & end up paying $56k @ the end?

Like rental car ready? No, the old Chrysler 200 was pretty much designed to be a mainstay of the rental car lot. Not just LIKE rental car ready, but Rental Car Ready.

They should have included auto start/stop so the engine stops when the car stops at least. They put in a 9 speed automatic, they might as well include auto start/stop too.

danwat1234 It actually has a stop start. For me its a little annoying. For instance, when I am coming to an onramp during traffic there is a light that tells you when to enter traffic. Sometimes when I get to the light it turns green immediately, but because I was slowing to a stop my engine turned off. So what happens is there is a fraction of a second delay until my vehicle starts accelerating. I naturally try to compensate with more gas, then my wheels spin when I do get the engine back. One thing I am a little disappointed in is the gas mileage with the V4. Its definitely geared for the mileage test and not actual mileage. If I do a constant 65 MPH, I will see over 38 MPG. If I go 80 its around 32 MPG. On surface streets its in the mid-20s. Average its around 30-32. On the other hand my old 2002 Dodge Stratus would get over 40 MPG when I go a constant 80, and 25 MPG average with a similar V4. The MPG really comes down to the vehicle weight, aerodynamics, and gearing. Sometimes I wish this got more MPG at higher speeds, but having good MPG at lower speeds will help in everyday driving. Also if you are concerned about MPG, I would probably not get this iteration. Its a very very lovely car, but something in my gut is telling me they will put the 3.0L turbo diesel into this and challenge the Passat in 2016/2017.

Kevin Smith I wonder if the gear ratio on a '02 Stratus is very low (engine spins slowly at highway speeds) to achieve such numbers. Glad to know it has auto start/stop. No button to disable it if you wish? I trust it is very quiet? For me I think a used red Chevy Volt sounds good.

+Kevin Smith I managed 32mpg highway with cruise. The only trick is too get up to 72mph so it falls into final overdrive which is ridiculous seeing as the gear is good down to 55mph.. Terrible design. This car could benefit from a manual shift button, so you could hold the gear. I also had problems with the oversensitive brakes, slight touch means 0 engagement and slightly more meant full engagement. Also, it would randomly slam on the Ebrake at a slow cruise which is VERY dangerous. Edit: I drove the 4 cylinder engine. Also my engine never stopped but it did have a serious delay on the highway when WOT.

You can manual shift in higher tier models with the sport mode. I never had your other issues. My E-Brake comes on when I tell it. My brakes were linear, but would not activate as soon as I would want. I think its because I am used to my truck brakes that were upgraded significantly.

Why does this and the Durango have a 9 speed and the ram 1500 have 8? What's the fuel economy on the car? You never talked about it? Nice car and Video!!

The Durango does not use the 9 speed. The 9 speed is in the Cherokee and the 200 only. It will spread to the Dart, in it's next refresh and in the new Renegade.

Looked it up, the Durango has the 8 speed, both the 8 and the 9 have the dial. I wouldn't be surprised if all the Chrysler vehicles have the 8 and 9 speed one day, even the wrangler. Now that new Renegade looks terrible, like a fiat, but thats no surprise because they work together.

ghd bfb Actually, FCA owns Chrysler and Fiat. They are both divisions of FCA corporation and are sharing technology and expertise. The vast majority of work done on this vehicle was done in Detroit, and they are being built in a facility that underwent a billion dollar upgrade.

Finally something luxurious and affordable Dodge/ Chrysler is making good move im actually gonna consider buying this 200 cause if you think about if chrysler keep this up they'll sell more cars in five years than any other brand like ford/ chevy and maybe even toyota, now if they could only do that with there trucks they'll when in that category as well
