Just purchased a new 2016 200 C AWD V6 with every option in April 2017. This was a new vehicle with 11 miles on the odometer that sat on a dealers lot for more then a year so, it was a good deal. I love this cars styling from the front, side and from the rear. One of my favorite items on this car are the way the led taillights look at night. The interior looks high end compared to the competition. The interior is covered in black leather with a lot of padded surfaces on the door dash & center council that are soft to the touch. This helps make for a very pleasant driving experience. The V6 engine is great, there's never a lack of power. When you hit the gas this car leaps forward with authority. The transmission shifts smoothly, the interior is quit but you hear a pleasant growl from the V6. The infotainment system with its large touchscreen looks great and works well. I must admit that I was a bit nervous about making this purchase after reading reviews mentioning problems with the 9 speed transmission but, I liked the car and the price sealed the deal. I have not owned the car long but, so far it's been great with no problems. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I recently purchased a 2015 200c AWD with every single option and absolutely love it. I've never owned any Chrysler product, and have found myself extremely impressed. The only downside is the headroom. I've noticed in every review I've seen or read, they only talk about the limited rear headroom, but never the front. The front headroom is extremely limited as well. I'm 6 foot tall, and with the driver's seat as low as it will go, and leaned back to where I can still comfortably grasp the wheel, there's still only about half an inch of clearance from the top of my head to the roofline. Maybe it's bad because I have the panoramic moon roof, I'm not sure though. Other than that, the power that motor puts out is amazing, all the tech gadgets are modern and can be put to good use, and it's really the best looking car in the segment. I noticed in this review, he keeps mentioning it's not as good looking as the Ford Fusion. Don't get me wrong, I think the Fusion is very easy on the eyes, but it doesn't compare at all to the lines and details of the new Chrysler 200. I've owned a lot of vehicles and I've NEVER gotten the comments, looks and stares that I've gotten with this one.

I wanderd here today because of questions I was reading which popped up in my Owners Group feed on FB. Mainly that was to share your excellent separate review of the ZF9speed auto. Wow you do a great job, you're probably the best! Why post here on a car now long out of production? I like these so much, I bought two and still have my second with now plans to sell it. I bought the first (Limited trim w/4cyl FWD) because I was in need of a comfortable and fuel efficient car, reasonably priced, wth enough space to carry senior people with me. To me, that Limited offered everything I needed, including price, that I was looking for better than anything else. I also found the styling to be a home run, especially in blue. I still think it's the most attractive car in this size range, hands down. I really liked that car, but experienced the higher trim spec Uconnect in a friends Jeep that I really liked. Then I got to thinking about our occassionally challenging winter storms and thought AWD would be nice to have too. The obvious solution was to trade in on a 200C, same blue. The ride, handling, features, power (and looks) and space (interior and trunk) of my 200C was everything I was looking for. Despite it's age now, it's held up beautifully with no reliability issues or complaints. I feel like I hit a home run with it and still see no reason to replace it. I was disappointed to see so many sedan options completely disappear from our market after most had become so good, especially this one. Based on how it's still performing for and the lack of replacement options, I don't plan on letting mine go anytime soon.

I think it's worth mentioning that the strength of the "tug" on wheel for the lane keep is adjustable in the Uconnect. At least it is on my 2014 Jeep Cherokee which is the same platform. Great detailed review as always Alex.

@Black Wraith Its a great car. Most people agree it looks beautiful. They stopped making it sadly, because its sedan and sedans dont sell well nowadays. Fiat Chrysler had strong product line containing Jeeps, so they decided to move whole workforce and production equipment into making them. Similarly, Ford is now ending the production of the Fusion (a very good car, too). Consumers liked the 200, because for the short time those were produced (2011-2016), almost 2 millions sold. This car offered great looking exterior, solid premium interior and powerful, yet good mileage engine. All for price lower than the closest competitors, from brand that is allegedly "worst of the worst". Shut up, because you know nothing. I have looked at your profile, typical edgy teen, with mind so simple, it can only look after overhyped and overpriced things, such as jordan shoes and supercars (because they have edgy curves on the tail, wow). True auto enthusiast is not judging only by the brand (people who dont know shit do that) or limiting his interest just to those "true cars" - 2 million Bugattis (those are rarely driven - because they are worth too much. You will also never own any of them. Do you still think those expensive exhibition sculptures are the only "true cars"? Something that can give you everyday fun at reasonable cost is a "true car" too). Grow up, do your homework, only then open youtube.

@@cytrynowy_melon6604 do your research, of you only knew how much of an unreliable piece of shit this is than you might realize that the whole "and of sedan" craze is not the only reason chrysler stopped selling this product it also is because Chrysler is a terrible car to buy now. Look for value somewhere else because this chrysler is all looks and no game. That's why the only car sold know from Chrysler is a pacifica something that isnt even an suv.. why? Because Chrysler is a dying company owned by an unreliable low quality Italian brand. Chrysler engines used to be a legacy and highly desired. Now they should be avoided. The 2010's have been unkind to fiat
@kinginanorth
@kinginanorth 4 жыл бұрын
@@keving7940 sadly they halted production of this vehicle not because of reliability but because of poor decision making during designing. In 2016 sales peaked at over 175k but they somehow lost money due to the money poured into the features, transmission and engine. It runs on the Alfa Romeo platform that's currently used on Jeep Cherokee so it still lives on. I've owned the very top of the line C with every option minus sunroof for over 3 years and have only had to change the tires and perform the routine oil changes. The biggest fault on this car is the 8 speed transmission which will at times perform rough shifting. Most drivers would see that as a sign of car failure but was actually easily corrected with a software update. The car is much better looking than any of its competitors for that particular year with perhaps the Honda Accord looking a bit more hansom. You have to be blind or a previous Sebring owner to consider this car ugly. I owned a ton of cars and this ranked up there with people acknowledging the looks. I'll admit overtime it has gotten stale but what car doesn't. I won't compare it to my M4 or sport tuned 5 series but they are different class cars. Find me a car in its class that has better looks more features and more horsepower, I'll wait...

For me it's between this and the Honda Accord my grand mother had a Concorde with 200k on it so I'm sure Chrysler is reliable enough and that was the same engine and transmission. I hope to have it soon but I don't have an ETA. Acura said I could borrow it but I don't have any firm dates. I was a little surprised that I liked it as well. It doesn't top many charts in the segment in most forms, but it is a good value with good fuel economy. On the upper end it was surprisingly competitive with entry level luxury vehicles and the loaded Fusion.

I think the 200 is a very beautiful car. If you want a car that looks like the 300, then buy the 300. Chrysler has some great designers. Honda has great engineers and reliability, but to me the Accord looks like an old ladies car, and the Civic is nothing to write home about in the looks department. The Accord and the Acura line seem slapped together from a pile of pieces. The 200 looks like a brilliant vision and all the parts fit so well they become one smooth unified line, but how reliable will it be?

Just bought one yesterday, and reading the news about 9 speed transmission fails a lot and this getting me nervous. There were 4 recalls and looks like even the service has no idea how to fix the problem. I dont want to spend 2-3 grand every 10K miles. Even though I bought it yesterday, I am considering to get rid of this potential problem machine. Other than, fun to drive. This car roars nicely, handling is not bad at all, however I find the breaks are so weak and steering is not perfect fit for this fast car.

I am not driving too much. We are driving friend`s civic mostly I bought it 9K km on it and its 14K km now, but so far so good. I got my tranny updated. 99% its very smooth, smoother than any other car actually, but 1% it literally shakes the car while gear changing. But overall this car is amazing, I am enjoying every second my ride. Satisfactory performance and sound for a cheap car, not bad handling (could be better), not bad mileage at all..But of course lots of tons of rattles in the cars because of cheap dollar store plastic used in the interior. How I wish Chrysler had chosen the 8 speed tranny over the 9 speed. As far as I know, 8 speeds are way more durable than 9 speeds. i think even the Hellcat is using the 8

@AAutoBuyersGuide
@AAutoBuyersGuide 9 жыл бұрын
Chrysler still comes in below industry average according to the 2014 JD Power survey. However, the delta between Toyota and Chrysler is much much smaller than it used to be at 1.55 average problems per vehicle vs 1.14 problems per vehicle for Toyota. Keep in mind that this is actually better than Hyundai at 1.69, VW at 1.58 and similar to Toyota's sub brand Scion at 1.53 problems per car.

How would you rate the 2015 Legacy updated Eyesight system with color compared to a Radar system? Everything I have read/seen seems to point to the Eyesight system being better than a radar system so just curious. How is the comparison between the Subaru AWD system and the Chrysler 200 AWD system (how does this system function also)? Is Subaru still at the top in regard to this? When will you have a 2015 Subaru Legacy review? :D
@AAutoBuyersGuide
@AAutoBuyersGuide 9 жыл бұрын
The Eyesight system is less expensive and as a result better value for many. As far as the function goes however, no, I would not call it "better" than the radar systems. Radar systems will function even in inclimate weather like heavy rain, hail, fog, etc while eyesight systems are all visual so if you can't see the car in front, neither can it. Radar systems have a longer range so they can see a vehicle farther ahead. The downside is that Radar is more expensive. Subaru's AWD system is a permanent system so it is going to feel a bit more surefooted in the snow or ice than the Chrysler system although both are similarly capable now that Subaru has moved almost entirely to a multi-plate clutch transfer system.

@AAutoBuyersGuide
@AAutoBuyersGuide 9 жыл бұрын
I comment on the Regal in the video a bit. The 200C compares well when it comes to luxury and technology features delivering real wood trim and a few more active safety options than the TSX or Regal. The 200 has a more limited back seat and the handling isn't quite to the levels of the Regal and TSX.

Alex on Autos Ahh yes, I saw that comparison after I commented. After re-watching reviews of the new TLX and the Regal, I think I like the TLX, new 200 S/C, and Regal in that order. Of course the TLX, with virtually the same v6 specs, same zf 9 speed, push button transmission lay-out, SH-AWD, starts at $41.5 while the 200 v6 sport with awd starts at about $27.8...I'd say that for that price difference and the more attractive gauge cluster on the 200, you couldn't go wrong choosing the 200.

Alex, Honda has some select volume dealers (so they tell me) our Accord LX with the CVT was $20,700 with destination charges included. The price was LOWER than the advertised price on the HONDA website, quite a surprise to me. On the other side of the coin, I visited a Mazda dealer that up charged on the 3 hatchback entry level making it around 25k to get one! That dealer claimed to have put nitrogen in the tires for $200(prove it). Similarly, when we bought our 2011 Sentra SR in early 2011, we negotiated them down from the 17.5K asking price to 15K. A cool ancillary video to produce would be about real world prices asked by dealerships. I find that lately Mazda is trying to upcharge based on the popularity of the new models.

The manufacturer has no control over the final sales price, so it is really the dealers you should be happy or upset with. The dealers may choose to sell above or below MSRP according to their marketing decisions.

**cough, cough...** Which is why buying directly from the manufacturer should be an option. Heck, they have manufacturer-owned dealers AND franchise dealers in Europe.

Use a broker when buying and leasing. Get an idea for pricing using CarsDirect.com but I would never used them. TrueCar is a joke. $200 for Nitrogen, usually that runs around $30. Two ways you can fill Nitrogen, either a bottle & a compressor or an actual Nitrogen inflation machine (around 5K) when sucks most of the air out of the tire an inflates with Nitrogen, take a sample of the air, and may suck more air / Nitrogen and repeat.

Ivan Vojt Have you tried purchasing a car through CarsDirect before? My ex-girlfriend and I both purchased cars from CarsDirect several years ago, and they were the most pleasant experience ever! The service we received from the website and the dealership was good, and since the out-the-door price was confirmed upfront, we just need to bring a cashier's check, and we were out of dealership within an hour!

Shin Ken I was going to until I went round and round with those clowns. The guy lied about the lease rebate. I called him on it and of course that was the end of conversation via email. Also accused me of not providing the information until so & so day, meaning I provided the information on a Friday and didn't get a price until a Tuesday. This required escalation to the original contact supervisor. Use Yelp and find a decent Broker.

Performance wise the 200 actually stacks up well against its competition. Too bad Chrysler's terrible reliability is crippling the car when it comes to sales & reviews. All I hear from this car is transmission issues & engine trouble everywhere. I like this car but I would be hard pressed to recommend it to anyone unless they have a VERY GOOD relationship to a local Chrysler mechanic or dealer.

Sadly, as much as I love the looks and reviews of the 2015+ Chrysler 200--I'll stick with the "lipstick-on-a-pig-Sebring" from 2011-2014. I'm 6'4" with a 38" inseam. I REQUIRE a 2-door, and Chrysler's hardtop convertible gave me the midsize coupé I've been looking for. B-pillars are a major blindspot for me whilst looking left for oncoming traffic. Plus, I enjoy the brutish-ness of good old American styling. I want to hear that THUD of safety when I shut the door.

Alex, after about 100 years in the auto business, you would think that chrysler would be able to build at least a reliable cars by now. why do you think they continue to struggle and rank at the bottom of the list year after year?
@AAutoBuyersGuide
@AAutoBuyersGuide 9 жыл бұрын
kao saeteurn Some of it is design, some of it is just a balance as well. It's more expensive to build a more reliable car in some ways and Chrysler prefers to have lower MSRPs like Nissan. Also keep in mind that Chrysler's reliability has improved drastically over the past decades but so have all the other car companies.
@KevinSmith-qi5yn
@KevinSmith-qi5yn 8 жыл бұрын
+kao Saeteurn I think it has more to do with contracts and global sales verse domestic sales. Chrysler is for the most part North America only verse other auto makers who are global. They make partnerships with other makers like Fiat, Mercedes, Kia, and Mitsubishi who take their own markets. The other big draw for a maker like Ford or GM comes to contract and fleet sales. Chrysler doesn't have much in the way of fleet sales. When you look at consumer sales you can see the Chrysler vehicles are well represented on the highways.

+kao saeteurn IF I google engine reliability Warranty Direct (they repair broken cars) I do not see Chrysler in the bottom 10 of least-reliable. I see brands like Mini, Audi/VW, BMW, vauxhall (GM), Mitsubishi, but no chrysler products. Instead Chrysler cars rank in the middle range (average engine reliability) .
@KevinSmith-qi5yn
@KevinSmith-qi5yn 8 жыл бұрын
Generally, Japanese were more reliable than American, and American more reliable than European. However, this is completely dependent on the specific engine. There were some really reliable engines in all markets and unreliable engines in all. Small displacement Chrysler engines in particular were less reliable when they were partnered with Mercedes Benz and Mitsubishi. These engines showed up in the majority of their sold vehicles which inflates the reliability statistic. I imagine the same will hold true with the Fiat sourced engines. Larger Chrysler engines tend to be bullet proof. Those being the Hemis and Cummins. This is because they are much less sophisticated and are overbuilt. Its also why you can get over 1000 HP out of them for a bit longer than a Japanese engine.

I never thought a car video could offer too much information but these videos do. There's no reason why one car should need several videos to give a detailed review. I feel no more informed about a car after watching one of these videos than I do watching an eight min video on cnet. I like your videos, but I doubt anyone needs EVERY button in a vehicle explained in this much detail. I find myself falling asleep watching or skipping though half of the videos.

A loaded 2015 Chrysler 200C lists for $37,860 but a fully loaded Ford Fusion Titanium lists for $39,485, a difference of nearly $1,800. However, the loaded 200 will have more than $4,000 of options not available on the Ford including Xenon headlights, panoramic sunroof, laminated front door glass, real wood trim, 7" LCD instrument cluster, full speed range radar cruise control, autonomous braking, perpendicular parking assistant (Fusion only has parallel), and 4-way lumbar support. This brings the relative cost of a similarly configured 200 down to $35,585 vs $39,495 for the Ford.

First of all dude you talk WAY too much you gave me a headache. Secondly you haven't driven a Honda or a Camry or a Passat lately. They drive like lunch boxes and hit pot holes like a junker. This car is by far superior in every way then any of it's competitors. I have driven all of them and I am a fussy guy and nothing compares. Sorry you flunk on your review big time.
